Uppy, Uppy, Mr. Andy -- Update -- WRAP UP -- Post 1346, Page 90

Hi Kathy, Haven't posted much this trip report but I have been reading along and enjoying as usual. So sorry about your young friend. Just stopping by to wish you and your family a wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving. Elaine

I'm so sorry about Makie's friend. Losing someone so young is awful.
I love all of your MNSSHP & Hallowishes photos & the video!!

need to go back and get caught up...missed so much with being sick

wanted to send you, Mark and the boys a very Happy Thanksgiving wish!

I missed the post about Markie's friend the first time through. It's unbelievable and so heartbreaking that something like this can happen to someone so young :(

What? double-take :faint:

After having cleaned the house all day and cooking dinner, I hoped to do an update tonight. If I get time, I will still try to do so.

However, we got word today that a friend from Markie's school days (both football and wrestling), collapsed and died of a heart attack. He was 22 years old. There is a prayer service at the football field at the high school tonight at 7 p.m. which we are planning on going to.

Sorry I missed this Kathy. This is so very tragic and in young people is usually caused by an electrical disturbance of the heart's conduction system and not a "heart attack" which by definition generally refers to death of the heart muscle from an occluded coronary artery. Sometimes young people have a hidden heart muscle disorder that causes electrical abnormalities. Sometimes is drugs/toxins. Whatever the cause, I am so terribly sorry.

I've never seen the Halloween parade in person, but it looks really cool. I'd love to see the gravediggers with their shovels sparking against the pavement.

Sorry to read about Markie's friend. That's very sad, and I'm sure it's been quite a shock to the family and community.

Glenn, the gravediggers are the best! It is so cool to watch them in action.

Thanks for the words on Markie's friend.

Kathy, I am so sorry to hear abour Markie's friend. It's sad to lose a friend but it seems to hurt even more when they are young.

Thanks, Lisa.

First of all, so sorry to hear about Markie's friend. That's horrible.

I am not caught up on the TR again, though. :thumbsup2 Great updates...you've been so fast lately! You're going to be finished before I even get to day four! :lmao:

The girls are adorable and so cute with Andy. How nice to have him join you on the trip.

And the Pooh queue. Oh, how I love this ride. We rode it several times in July... not sure we'll ever be able to get FPs for it, though, as I can't imagine Max being able to forgo that queue. And Andy wanting to ride with you...that's just so sweet! You raised great sons, Kathy! :goodvibes

Thanks, Tina for the condolences.

Yay for being caught up again (I've got to get moving on this thing!).

The girls really had a good time with Andy, and we loved having him with us.

Ok, I FINALLY got back to the DISBoards after being on maybe twice since I finally wrapped up my TR, and I just read your TR from the start to now. This looks like such a fun trip, with a great supporting cast. AKL looks great - I LOVE the Lion King scene in the bathroom. My favorite Disney movie, hands down.

You have us killed in the hat pic department! Wow. I don't think anyone can match the sheer volume of hat pics you have :)

Can't wait to read more. Sorry it took me so long...

Jon, I'm so happy to have you back. Thank you for keeping your promise and checking out my TR (I know how hard it is once you are done with a trip or report to keep the interest going all the time).

I really think you and the family should consider AKL at some point -- it is a great resort! I'm with you--Lion King is one of my favorites (Beauty & The Beast holds the top spot in my book).

My husband is a nut with his hats. We went to Target last night and he tried on four or five...I wish I'd had the camera with me.

Have a great Thanksgiving--and the family too!

How sad for that young man's family Kathy - funerals are never easy and more so when they are for young people. Its nice there was so many people to pay their respects. Hope Mark is okay losing a friend so young.

Thank you; the wake is Friday and I am not looking forward to it.

(back tracking now)

ugh Barney. shoot me now rather than watch barney again. ever.

I forgot about Barney. I remember him starting to become popoular when my Mark was young...thankfully, his infatuation did NOT last long.

that is one cool fireworks shot! the video looks good ...i liked the darker coloring..of course on my slow feed it was not nearly as impressive.

Thanks...I was happy with several fireworks shots this trip.

oh we missed Pooh last time --- the need for food forced us to skip on by.. and it looks like fun. Definitely adding to the guilt factor for June!:scared1:

You must definitely do Pooh...so much fun.

So sorry to hear of the loss of a friend. Thoughts and prayers are being sent for all.

Thank you.

We are so sorry for your loss, your family and the family of the young man are in our thoughts and prayers

:hug:Thanks Shannon. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your adorable fiance.

I missed the post about Markie's friend the first time through. It's unbelievable and so heartbreaking that something like this can happen to someone so young :(

Thanks, Jon.

Very sorry to read about Markie's friend - many prayers for his family and friends.

Hope you are continuing to feel better!

Thank you, Amy.

I am on Day 11 of this darn cold; I sound much better and the cough is less and less, so hopefully by the weekend it will be gone.

Looks like it was a great evening at MK. I supposed one of these trips we'll have to spring for the Halloween party to see all this stuff!

Sorry to hear about Mark's friend. Prayers for the family.

It was a fun evening (I just wish 75% of the other people had stayed home!).

Thanks for the paryers, Mark.

sorry to hear about his friend.

is that the only time the dwarfs are out together?

did they each sign autographs? or do they only do pictures

Thanks, Dan.

The Dwarfs are out at Halloween Parties and Christmas Parties. They do not do autographs; just pictures.

Kathy I am so sorry for Markie's friend !!A Co worker of mine several years ago had a son who was about that age and also dropped dead of a heart attack !!So Sad !!:hug::hug:

So very sad when it is a young child or adult. :sad1:

Oh goodness Kathy! I'm so sorry to hear about Markie's friend. How shocking that he was so very young. His poor family must be devastated, what a tragedy. I recently read an article about this young (I think 12 or 13) girl who literally dropped in the school hallway because her heart stopped! Luckily the gym teacher saw her, quickly checked her and then grabbed the nearby heart defibrillator. He saved her life!

Thanks, Molly. It is so sad...parents should NOT have to bury their children.

On to your updates!

Oh, how sweet is Andy to ride with his mama! I hope his GF Cayley wasn't too put out with him for riding with you rather than her. I love love love the Pooh queue drumming video! Cayley was just going to town, I loved it! Mark seemed to be enjoying himself too!;) That picture of them all pulling the rope made me chuckle, it's actually very hard to pull! We did it in January and DH had to hop in to help us while we all laughed.:goodvibes

Andy is a sweet boy...and I love him more for his sweet gesture (if that's possible). Cayley was having herself one little party! Mark is about the age of Cayley when he is at Disney. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

The parade pics are great! Isn't it a fabulous parade? We really enjoyed it last time, the headless horseman was eerie with the clip cloppping of the horse's hooves on the road. Weren't the grave diggers fun when the sparked their shovels against the pavement? I thought that seemed very halloweenish.

I love the Boo to You Parade...it is fabulous.

Love all the Hallowishes pics and the video was awesome. I love how the lights popped back on right after the fireworks ended, it looked like magic which would be fitting for you know, the Magic Kingdom. Ok, that was a lame joke.

Are you feeling better now Kat? I hope so.

The Hallowishes is just spectacular.

Yes, I'm feeling much better and almost 100%...thank you for asking. Have a great Thanksgiving with your beautiful family.

Kathy, I'm finally all caught up!

First, I'm so sorry about Markie's friend! How tragic....sadly one of my brother's friend from the Marine Corps passed away last week...he was about the same age. They went to the Marine Corp Ball the first weekend of November, hung out and had a great time, and he was found dead on his bathroom floor the following weekend. I haven't heard yet if they have determined a cause of death. Just so sad...my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Ali, that is so sad; my prayers are with your brother and his friend's family.

Your pics with Tigger were awesome! He is also one of my favorites...meeting him was the first thing I did on my first ever trip to WDW back in 2002. So glad you guys liked the Nemo show! We really enjoyed it when we saw it for the first time. Overall, looks like you guys had a great day at AK!

Tigger is number one in my book! I think the first character I met when I first went (which was in 1976) was Winnie the Pooh.

Yay for Andy's arrival! He does look a LOT like you! I can't believe the Halloween Party was that packed! Looks like the secret is out and Halloween is no longer a nice, quiet time to visit WDW! Hallowishes and Boo To You are my FAVORITE!! Well...I think maybe tied with Illuminations and The Jammin' Jungle Parade...but still!

We were so happy to have Andy with us. Now I just have to figure out a way to get our youngest son there one of these trips. Yes, the secret is out.

Glad you guys are liking OKW! 230 short days to go!

Ali, you are going to LOVE OKW!

Hi Kathy, Haven't posted much this trip report but I have been reading along and enjoying as usual. So sorry about your young friend. Just stopping by to wish you and your family a wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving. Elaine

Hi, Elaine; thanks for stopping in. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving too.

I love that Andy rode with his mommy!!!!!!!!!!!

Fun evening with the girls :)

Andy is a good boy! :goodvibes

I'm so sorry about Makie's friend. Losing someone so young is awful.
I love all of your MNSSHP & Hallowishes photos & the video!!

Thanks, April. My dad used to say when he would hear of a young child dying that it wasn't the way it was supposed to happen; he said, I've lived my life and I should go before these kids.

need to go back and get caught up...missed so much with being sick

wanted to send you, Mark and the boys a very Happy Thanksgiving wish!

Lisa, I hope you are feeling better. Mine is going on two weeks and I'm truly sick of it. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Megan too.

Sorry I missed this Kathy. This is so very tragic and in young people is usually caused by an electrical disturbance of the heart's conduction system and not a "heart attack" which by definition generally refers to death of the heart muscle from an occluded coronary artery. Thanks for the explanation, MEK. A very sad situation.

We slept in a little later this morning as we were going to Disney's Hollywood Studios and they didn't open until 9 a.m. I wanted to be there around 8:30 so we could get Fastpasses for Toy Story Mania.

We arrived at the parking lot right around 8:50.

Day6001.jpg

Andy had the camera and decided a picture of me on the tram was a good idea. Andy tends to forget that I do not look or feel my best if I have NOT had my coffee yet:

Day6002.jpg

Car parked and we were walking into the Studios. This was outside the gates:

Day6003.jpg

Day6004.jpg

We got in and the people had just been let in. Andy can't do spinning rides, motion rides, etc., on most occasions so he was skipping Star Tours. So he told us to head to do Star Tours and he would get the Fastpasses for TSM.

So Mark and I headed over:

Day6005.jpg

A few photos as we walked through the non-existent line:

Day6011.jpg

We LOVED the new refurb of this ride. Had we had more than a half day here, we would have done it again. So we will be doing it a couple of times on our next trip.

After Star Tours, we found Andy watching the kids with the Jedi training. He asked me if they had that when he was younger, and I told him no. He said he couldn't wait to bring his kids to do it (I think Andy might be getting a little more "Disney love" in his system!).

We walked over to the Writer's Shop because I still had not had any coffee and the guys wanted some breakfast.

Day6017.jpg

After having coffee and breakfast, we decided to head to Muppetvision 3D. A few pics along the way:

Then we stopped in the dump shop for this beauty:

Day6038.jpg

And I asked Andy to have his picture taken with me here...the only time you'll probably see any kind of snow in Florida:

Day6039.jpg

Up next, which attraction that Andy had been waiting for was on the radar next?

Andy LOVES Rock and Roll Roller Coaster. This is a good thing because I just can't handle the ride anymore and his Dad loves it, so the two of them were going together. While they were riding, I walked over to 50's Prime Time and cancelled our ADR as we decided it was too close in time to our dinner at LeCellier and we still had things to do at the Studios before heading over to Epcot.

A few pictures I took while the boys were being blasted with the music:

Day6042.jpg

I also stopped in one of the shops as I still had to pick something up for Princess Juliana and had not found what I was looking for. Mission accomplished, I went to go wait for the guys.

On my way back, a young CM stopped me and wished me a Happy Anniversary and asked where my other half was. I told her they were on Rock & Roll Roller Coaster. She asked if they would like to do it again and gave me four fastpasses for the ride. She also asked if we were going to do Tower of Terror and I said we would be doing it after they got off R&R. She gave me four fastpasses for that as well. MAJOR PIXIE DUST!!!

I waited for the guys here:

Day6044.jpg

After they came off, I told them about the fastpasses and they thought that was really cool. I said it was now time to do my favorite ride in all of Disney -- Tower of Terror! Since Mark's neck surgery last year, he's a little leary of TOT, so Andy and I were off to do it on our own (and I can't wait to do it with the girls in January) with two of the fastpasses.

Andy and I on Captain_Oblivious' favorite ride :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Day6052.jpg

We had a blast. We went to find Mark and decide what to do next. It was decided to head over to the Animation Studio and see if we could get in a drawing class:

Day6055.jpg

Up next, do we draw on this trip? And what characters do we see?

I'm sorry to hear about Markie's friend. I had 2 classmates from high school that during college both had an aneurysm and died instantly. It's hard to imagine dying so young from something so sudden.

How nice of the CM to offer you those Fastpasses! I love pixie dust!

Happy Thanksgiving Kathy! I hope you enjoy your family and have a relaxing holiday!
