Uppy, Uppy, Mr. Andy -- Update -- WRAP UP -- Post 1346, Page 90

I've not discussed it with Mary, but maybe we'll do a PTR after we both get our current TR's done. Stay tuned.

If and when you do a PTR, I will be excited and happy to read along!
I just hope I figure out you start one before you are 50 pages in :rotfl: (yes, yes you do have quite a following. ;))

Hi, my sweet Molly. Yes, I know you are used to those boys -- Marv and Timmy and their rare updates. ;)

Rare indeed! Though Timmy can be excused since he has a new beautiful baby occupying his time. Now Marv, well, as I've learned, there's just no excuse for him. Plain and simple.

And you're very sweet too, sweetest of Kathys!

Yes, I guess I am a "grandmother" in training (but those boys of mine better hurry up...I'm not getting any younger. I don't think I'm famous, but I do hope one day I get to meet the very sweet Molly.

Want me to call your boys for you and light a fire under them??:thumbsup2

Oh Kat, you ARE famous. Look at this TR!:goodvibes I'd love to meet up too and I so wish I had a trip planned. We'll see!

I would say that 75% of the time, Mark gets the hats himself. I'll have him pose the other times. But he truly is a kid at heart and loves to play.

Aw, I love that Mark is a kid at heart. That's the best kind of husband to have, I should know because I have one too! Both you and Mark look so very fun and kind, I'm sure Cayley and Avery just adore you both.:goodvibes

CP with those girls was the perfect start to our day.

I should think so! Now, where did you go after CP? I'm going to say Pooh!

Ann, if we do one, I'll give you a heads up. ;)

Yes, Tim does have an excuse. Marv, not so much. :rolleyes1

Someone has to light a fire under their butts! Since Andy and Nicole broke up, and he has started dating someone new and Markie has his first serious girlfriend, I'm thinking Markie (the younger of the two) might beat his brother to the alter.

He is a kid at heart, and I think a lot of husbands are...but they feel too "manly" to let it show. I'm glad your husband is one too. :goodvibes

Mary (Cayley and Avery's mom) and I were texting last night. I sent the kiddies a little package for Halloween and they said to their Mom, "maybe Miss Kathy can join us." She told them Mark wouldn't let me; they decided that Mr. Mark is MEAN! If they only knew the truth. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

subbing! better late than never :thumbsup2

Ali, I'm so glad you are here; it hasn't been the same without you.

Okay, going to work on an update of the Magic Kingdom morning (not in a working mood today).

Well, as Mary mentioned, we've changed resorts and now I have to go and change my ticker (tomorrow...I'm too tired tonight).

Mary thought it might be better to have two beds as opposed to a bed and a pull out couch for five nights. So she moved us to Old Key West. I know I haven't gotten to that part of my TR yet (it's coming in the next update or two), but we loved it and it so quiet and peaceful.

I've not discussed it with Mary, but maybe we'll do a PTR after we both get our current TR's done. Stay tuned.

Thank you all again for all the good wishes. I couldn't be more excited to spend time with sweet Cayley and Avery, and warm and witty Mary.

***Ticker now changed. :)

So happy for you!!

Grumpy was alergic to the pull out couch at SSR, so me, Anakin and Goofy ended up in the pull out while he had the queen size bed all to himself. It was very comfortable, but it was often in the way when it was pulled out. A bed instead would be nicer!

Love the new ticker.

Ann, if we do one, I'll give you a heads up. ;)

Ann, even with a head's up I think I made it to page 3, lol!

I think the first 10 on the new ptr deserve a prize of some kind!

So when I last left you, we had just finished a tasty and fun breakfast at the Crystal Palace.

Where did we head you might ask? Well, we headed here:

(Picture above borrowed from Poolrat--thanks, Pat)

Our first ride of our trip was the Jungle Cruise. Here is Mark waiting in the line (it was maybe a ten minute wait):

Someone looks hungry:

Mark's favorite:

I do enjoy this ride, but I know why we don't do it unless there is no line -- the jokes need some freshening up and the ride could use a little work too. But we all had fun on it and enjoyed seeing the "back side of water." ;)

We sent the group to go to the Enchanted Tiki Room (Mark, the girls, Jeff and Grandma and Grandpa) while Mary and I went to get Fastpasses for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Day3061.jpg

From there, it was off to see the handsome Jack Sparrow. I didn't try to take any pictures this time we rode it (but I believe I did later in the trip).

The boy must play with his sword:

Mark had to try on a few hats as we stopped at one of the shops for Mary's mother-in-law to find a hat:

After that, it was off to the Haunted Mansion:

Then we went to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and I rode with Cayley. Last year we had a screaming contest; this year she said "NO SCREAMING!" Half way through she started screaming. I said, I thought "NO SCREAMING!" She said, "you can scream now...it's okay."

At this point, Mark and I decided to go check in at Old Key West. We weren't sure if the room would be ready, but Mark wanted to get some pool time in as we knew he wouldn't get any time again this trip (does this hold true?). We told the girls we'd see them that evening back at the MK for EMH's and we headed to the front of the park to exit. Along the way, I took a few pictures:

The monorail was now running again, so we took our chances that we wouldn't stall for 20 minutes, and hopped on:

Next up: Check in at OKW. Will our studio be ready? Will we get in some swim time?

Great update! I love the pics.

Some day I hope to go to WDW for Halloween. Last year we did go in September and saw much of the fall decorations, but I want to go a bit closer to Halloween so we can do MNSSHP.

A - I hope your OKW studio is ready and you are at a nice location - oh well, the locations are all nice at OKW ;)

B - I really hope you got some pool time in ....... and I hope it's one of the quiet pools - so much more peaceful than the main one.

C - If you want "fresh" jokes at the Jungle Cruise, do it during EMH - they DO have another set of jokes and it depends on the CM which ones they crack - we only do it at night now - helps with the slighly "older" props there too! :rotfl2:

Thanks, Tink. I'm very happy for me too. :goodvibes

I figured I'd have no problem with the pull out ... better than sleeping outside. ;)

Now, if I gave everyone a heads up, you'd all end up on Page 20.

I have never been at Christmas -- one of these years (maybe when we finally move to Florida).

I love the Halloween decorations -- I love those colors and love how all of the pumpkins are carved to fit the theme. We've done the MNSSHP twice now. We won't do it again for awhile, but I'm happy we did, and I hope you get to do it one of these days too.

Ok Kathy - I'm caught up with all the reading but my stupid computer at work blocks your pics so I can't see them. It's very strange because I could see the pics that Mary posted...and if I go to my own TRs I can see the pics I posted there...But I can't see your pics or the pics on Jen's TR either. I hate this!

I know I had 1000 things to comment on but here is what I remember:

1) I don't know if anyone has addressed the comment you made about the date on your pictures being off....BUT if they haven't.... If you have your camera set up in 24 hour time and didn't realize it and just put 1:00 when you programmed it...if it was 1pm, the camera recognizes that as 1am so it will be 12 hours off. So if it was 8:30pm on 9/22 when you took your pics (as an example) the camera though it was 8:30am on 9/23.

2) I had to go to All Ears and search for pics of the Lion King bathroom tiles since I couldn't see the ones you posted. I have to stay there now, just for that! Although I agree with you about the long walks! When we went to Kidani Village to visit a couple friends on our trip last year, we were really turned off by the long walk to and from their room! Although I would have camped out on their balcony if they let me! I agree that the walk at CSR is NOTHING compared to that or CBR. We actually ENJOY the walk from The Ranchos to El Centro...

3) We're going back to Crystal Palace on our trip in July...we haven't been in a couple years. I planned it though so that hopefully we can get an early ADR and get in before the park opens. We have a few first-timers going on our trip and I would love for their first experience to be an empty MK.

4) I was just telling Lumar last night how much I've grown to love Pina Coladas and here you are, sucking down on what? Your first day!? So jealous!

5) YAY for another trip AND for your 5 year anniversary! Congrats

Oh and PS - Tim, regarding the gift basket... that WAS nice ;)

ETA: Ok I THOUGHT I was caught up but then you posted about the start of your MK day! Can't wait to hear about OKW!!

Wait ... how did I miss this? :(

Okay, I'm here and I'll try to get caught up this weekend. I was wondering why my update/subscription list was so... silent. :sad2:

I know what you mean. I lost subscriptions too somehow.

Hmmm... we usually start at Jungle Cruise too! Something to do with the fact that our first MK day is usually a mid-day arrival and it is the first thing we come to when we use that whole "go left at Disney" theory.:lmao:

Good luck at OKW... and with the monorail!

All caught up .... and here's what I remember (I know, I'm horrible):

That was really sweet of Tim's family to send you a lovely goody bag! :cloud9: What a great way to start your stay!

Totally love (and very jealous) of your view and all the animals you got to see! AKL looks absolutely amazing, and perhaps one day I'll get a chance to visit it!

Loved seeing the pics of you guys trying on hats. My favorite? Mark in the Kermit ears. (Wonder where I saw those ears before.... :goodvibes )

I love the pink flamingo with the Mickey ears! That's too adorable! Now I want one for my yard. :thumbsup2

So glad to hear you enjoyed EoS! It's one of our favorites! I'm hungry just thinking about it now. :lmao:

Also glad to see you had some great DIS meets! :cloud9:

It almost looks like the right-hand tower has grown. :rotfl2: You did say they were remodeling Cindy's castle, right? :rotfl:

Can't wait to hear more! :cloud9:

What a nice morning in MK! The Jungle Cruise is a family favorite in my house. The elephants are my favorite, too! And you can't go to Adventureland without hopping in to see Captain Jack. I'm loving all of the fall decor in MK. It makes me really anxious for our trip next October! Hope y'alls room was all ready when y'all got there.

So when I last left you, we had just finished a tasty and fun breakfast at the Crystal Palace.

Where did we head you might ask? Well, we headed here:

(Picture above borrowed from Poolrat--thanks, Pat)

:rotfl2: I scrolled down to see just that first picture and I thought" Hmmmm I have one just like that right where those tikis are." Then I scrolled down a bit further to see that indeed that IS my picture and I busted out laughing. :rotfl2:

Too funny that I "thought" I recognized it.
You should at least sit through the new old Tiki room once again. It may or may not be almost restored to its original glory. :rolleyes1

When I saw that Adventureland picture I thought, Wow, that looks almost identical to Pats...Guess I was right! ;)

I STILL have not done the Jungle Cruise! I keep saying I'm going to on every trip that I take, but we always skip it!

I can't wait to see your OKW pics, hope you got some pool time in! :cool1:
