Upgrading PHP to AP

I have 3 days left on my 7-day PHP. I guesstimate the value to be about $130. I'm considering an upgrade to AP so I can enjoy the AP resort rates and invest in DDE. My question: can ticket upgrades only be done on site? If that's true, then doesn't that mean I can't buy a DDE because don't I have to have a AP or AP voucher in hand for that?

If this is true, what if I go ahead and buy an AP now and when I get to the resort, would they let me apply the value of my 3-day PHP towards it?

That is correct.

You must call the DDE office between 9 am and 5 pm after you get your AP. They will arrange for a temporary letter for you to use that can be picked up at Epcot Guest Relations after 5:30 pm of the day you call.

Once purchased, they will not apply any old tickets to it.

Wow, thanks so much for the info. I searched for this answer and couldn't find it, but I did see all the knowledgable ticket info posting you've done...you've really helped a lot of people. And now me!

One quick question...I'm arriving on a Saturday. Are the DDE offices open then or just M-F? Thanks!

DDE is only open Mon - Fri
