Upgrading at port

Anybody know how early they will allow you to check-in? And try for an upgrade? If I remember correctly, they won't let anybody into the terminal, for parking and drop-offs, until around 10 am. Just wondering if this is still true.

Port usually opens at 10am, some rare occassions 10.30am. You are correct cars are often held outside until 10am.

Uusally there is a sign saying 'upgrades' avaialble if there are some.

I got in the terminal just before 10 last Saturday though my DH had to wait outside with the luggage until a Porter was available to help. There is a supervisor desk to the right of the Castaway Club desk that you can go to ask about upgrades. I stopped there first to inquire about an upgrade since she was there before the other counters opened up for checkin. Once the other counters opened, she had me go to there to checkin to my original rooms, then I went back to her to finish the upgrade process.

My first cruise, I asked about an upgrade when we got to the regular counter and they called down to the supervisor to check on availability and they held a room for me as a previous poster said. Still had to complete check in at the regular counter then head to the supervisor counter to complete the upgrade process.

Just got off the 12/6 Eastern and was able to upgrade to a cat 8 for $359. Could have upgraded to a cat 5 for a little over $800.00. They quoted those prices without asking about my original category. Prices were quoted for a "window" or a "verandah." Cats 9 and 8 were the same price and cats 5 and 6 were the same price. Hopes this helps.

If you have to book 3 days before departure would it not be great if they let you do the at port upgrade the day before by phone

:yay:

We have a Cat 8 booked for August 09 Western which we have paid for using DVC points..................would love to upgrade at port if the price was right! Can you still pay cash for the upgrade if you have booked the cruise with points? Also, what is the likelihood for cabins being available in August (no special ports)? Loads of availability at the moment, but realise it is a long way off!

When I upgraded at the port , they just told me "windows are $359 and verandahs are $817 (it was around $800 but I can't remember exactly). They weren't even looking at my reservation when they gave me the figures. You should be fine.

Right--when you upgrade at port it is a cash (credit card, or whatever) only. You can't use Visa reward points. It doesn't matter how your reservation was made.

Does anyone have a per person pricing estimate? My husband and I are going soon (gift for our 25th anniversary) in an inside cabin, but would love to see if we can afford an upgrade to a verandah!! I didn't see any cabin reviews for 7625 - has anyone here had that cabin before - just in case we're not able to change, I was hoping to get an idea if I should try for a different inside cabin or not. Thanks in advance.
