A friend told me that the resorts are less likely (or not at all) to upgrade you if they see that you made ressies through a travel agent, instead of directly through Disney. Is this true? Has anyone ever obtained a room upgrade even when you booked through an agent?

we went just this last october. i booked through small world vacations. we were upgraded from standard view at akl to savannah view. We were even there the time of the funaii golf classic.

I've booked only through Disney for all of our trips, and we've only been upgraded once--from a standard view to a pool view at AKL for a three night stay. Other than that, no upgrades ever. :flower:

DW and I book through AAA and we booked a woods-view at WL last year. On arrival, we were upgraded to a courtyard view 5th floor room on the lobby. I think it has to do with many factors, including how busy the resort is, the CM and how you approach the upgrade.
