Upgrade question?

We're planning on using our points next year to stay at the Floridian, what I want to know is, is it possible to pay for an upgrade? and if it is, can this only be done when we arrive?

I believe the answer is "no" you can not mix points and cash, but not 100% sure.

Originally, DVC members staying on points could upgrade to concierge only by using cash since concierge rooms could not be reserved using points.

A couple of years ago, the point charts were revised to include point costs for concierge at Deuxe resorts. If you want that type of room, you should check to see if it's available using points - normally, cash upgrades aren't offered since that room may be reserved using points already. However, as with most things Disney, it can't hurt to ask and see if they can find some "magic" for your stay. Obviously, it will be based on availability at time of check-in - so if it's something you really want, you may still want to use points and reserve it now.
