(UPDT: 2/21) Losing The Glass Slippers to RUN like a Princess! Serial-PTRer report!

Joining in.

I also didn't start running until my 40s. 47 to be precise. :) And I can relate to that struggle to call yourself a runner, but like you, I've decided that's exactly what I am and I intend to embrace the title. :thumbsup2

I ran my first half last November and then the Disney marathon this past January. It was a great race although challenging for sure.

Anyway, really enjoying your PTR so far and it won't bother me any if you want to add in more of your run training either. It's very motivating to me to read about others journey toward endurance running.

I haven't run the Princess half, but the Glass Slipper is definitely on my to-do list in the future. Can't wait to hear more about your trip plans!

P.S. Your daughter and her best friend are just too adorable. What a great friendship!

Welcome fellow runner!!!! :woohoo: I would love to hear more about how you started running and your training to your half! Glass slipper is on my radar for the future as well, the wheels are already turning on that one and I haven't even completed my first half yet! :lmao:

Get used to planning your next race before you've finished running the one you are currently training for. Hazard of the sport. ;)

My husband has been a runner for several years and had been after me for a long time to join him and I consistently refused. I went to watch him run a half-marathon along with my SIL and BIL. Watching the two of them cross the finish line together inspired me to start running so I could experience that with DH. But, once I started, I just got totally hooked and now I do it solely for myself even though my DH and I still run together.

I do the Galloway run/walk method and joined a local running group last year. I found the social aspect of the group runs to be so amazing and motivational. I've made so many new friends. The running community really is just so supportive and friendly.

In a shameless self plug :) I just restarted a trip report of my disney marathon experience too if you're really interested in hearing more. The link is down below.

Anyway, back to you and your great PTR!!

A little delayed (I was computer free the last two weeks) but CONGRATS on booking!

Very exciting news. My fingers are firmly crossed that there are no BTG this time at POP! :)

Oh me too! I'm hoping since it's a couple weeks later than Savannah & I went this year, maybe they will all be clearing out. It's Jan/Feb that there are usually a lot, but I think as Feb nears its end, they head home. Hoping! :crazy2:

BIG NEWS!!!!!!!

Eleanor is here and we are doing a Disney night and I was going to wait until I post about that, but I just CANNOT WAIT! This afternoon when I was out petisitting, I got an email from Disney Destinations. As I was opening it, I was telling Dallas that they never send out any pins for next year this early and it was probably some fall pin that I couldn't use...

Until I saw the dates: 1/5-3/2/14 and 3/16-4/12/14

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

I nearly called WDW right there, but I didn't have my reservation number and had to go to the store, so I finished up my errands and got home asap. I was on the phone before I was in the door! :lmao:

So, I got STAY, PLAY, & DINE for February 2014!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Saved myself a whopping $422, which I think would only be surpassed by free dining. The TA I was going to use was only going to save me $180 and I calculated that a room discount would be around $300, so I am over the moon about this! No stressing about whether I'll get a discount or not!

Ok, back to our regularly scheduled Disney night! I should give you a little sneak peek and let you guess, this will be too easy for anyone that knows Disney movies...

Congrats on the PIN!:banana::banana: I have never ever ever received a PIN from Disney. Oh wait...I take that back. Never via e-mail. I did get one in 2011 via mail but it was not for my dates (or anywhere close). :worried: So happy that you are saving on your trip and you don't have to stress! :lovestruc

So happy for you! I never, ever get pins. My BFF got one yesterday too.... it was adults pay child prices. I told her I was boycotting Disney after my November trip until Disney sent ME a pin too! Then I realized I was too late because I already have a Disney Cruise booked for May of 2014. Disney knows they have me... so why send a pin? :)

But I'll show them.. after 2014....... (until I cave.. and I book 2015).

But very happy for you- that is SO awesome.

And also- clearly- Lady and the Tramp. Can't wait to see the pics! :)

Amanda

Thanks everyone! I'll admit it, I get a fare share of pin codes and have never gone to Disney without a discount. But, that makes it more stressful b/c I'm always trying to get the best deal. I'm pretty excited now and it seems real! Now if the airlines would cooperate and stop raising prices, we would be doing pretty good! ;)

Coming up...Lady and the Tramp night! :lovestruc

Lady and The Tramp Disney night!

Eleanor came to spend the night last night and since we were at 220 days until I trip, I thought we should show Eleanor how we roll with the Disney Days. ::yes::

Hope & I started doing Disney Days YEARS ago (2010 Hope?) with Savannah & Kya and although sometimes they are super elaborate and sometimes total flops, Savannah always gets a little excited when we are planning one...it may or may not be the junk food included. ;)

She picked Lady and The Tramp, which was great because spaghetti has to be the easiest Disney Day meal to make! The shock and horror on her face when I went straight to the pet isle to get some cheap doggie bowls, was priceless!

Oh yes, they had to eat out of doggie bowls! LOL! I printed out some activities I found online, a lantern and some Lady and Tramp paper things...this was probably the most fun for the girls. They spent at least an hour or two trying to assemble them and I think they did really well!

The lantern: (they giggled forever about how lopsided it was)

Lady & The Tramp: Tramp has some ear malfunctions and even though these are small, it took them a LONG time to do! They had a lot of fun, even if Tramp didn't come out so great.

They made fun of me for trying to make their dinner romantic. :p Here's the setup:

oh and also I was scolded for not filling out the menu! ;) Then when I finally did, Savannah added "Ed Sheeran" to the menu and told me that she wanted to order him. NOW. :rotfl: Obsessed much?!?!? :p (Ed Sheeran is her favorite artist right now...and she wants to marry him and have ginger-haired babies) :rolleyes1

Scooby snacks fit the theme!

I'm not sure if the girls watched the movie or not, but they did make the "PUP-cakes" that we had planned to make as well...they just did it in the middle of the night, which is when they like to bake. I get to wake up to a messy kitchen when they do this. Joy! :rolleyes2

I think it was a pretty successful Disney evening and now Eleanor knows what's in store for her in the months to come! ;)

Super fun and cute! I kind of miss our big, elaborate Disney Days. Ah well, maybe if you come over to the darkside...
