Joining in.
I also didn't start running until my 40s. 47 to be precise. And I can relate to that struggle to call yourself a runner, but like you, I've decided that's exactly what I am and I intend to embrace the title.
I ran my first half last November and then the Disney marathon this past January. It was a great race although challenging for sure.
Anyway, really enjoying your PTR so far and it won't bother me any if you want to add in more of your run training either. It's very motivating to me to read about others journey toward endurance running.
I haven't run the Princess half, but the Glass Slipper is definitely on my to-do list in the future. Can't wait to hear more about your trip plans!
P.S. Your daughter and her best friend are just too adorable. What a great friendship!
Welcome fellow runner!!!!I would love to hear more about how you started running and your training to your half! Glass slipper is on my radar for the future as well, the wheels are already turning on that one and I haven't even completed my first half yet!

Get used to planning your next race before you've finished running the one you are currently training for. Hazard of the sport.
My husband has been a runner for several years and had been after me for a long time to join him and I consistently refused. I went to watch him run a half-marathon along with my SIL and BIL. Watching the two of them cross the finish line together inspired me to start running so I could experience that with DH. But, once I started, I just got totally hooked and now I do it solely for myself even though my DH and I still run together.
I do the Galloway run/walk method and joined a local running group last year. I found the social aspect of the group runs to be so amazing and motivational. I've made so many new friends. The running community really is just so supportive and friendly.
In a shameless self plugI just restarted a trip report of my disney marathon experience too if you're really interested in hearing more. The link is down below.
Anyway, back to you and your great PTR!!
A little delayed (I was computer free the last two weeks) but CONGRATS on booking!

Congrats on the PIN!I have never ever ever received a PIN from Disney. Oh wait...I take that back. Never via e-mail. I did get one in 2011 via mail but it was not for my dates (or anywhere close).
So happy that you are saving on your trip and you don't have to stress!

So happy for you! I never, ever get pins. My BFF got one yesterday too.... it was adults pay child prices. I told her I was boycotting Disney after my November trip until Disney sent ME a pin too! Then I realized I was too late because I already have a Disney Cruise booked for May of 2014. Disney knows they have me... so why send a pin?
But I'll show them.. after 2014....... (until I cave.. and I book 2015).
But very happy for you- that is SO awesome.
And also- clearly- Lady and the Tramp. Can't wait to see the pics!![]()
CONGRATS on booking and getting a discount! So happy for you!!!
