(UPDT: 2/21) Losing The Glass Slippers to RUN like a Princess! Serial-PTRer report!

MEMORY LANE!

I thought before I posted our plans and ADR's I would find some old pictures of Savannah & Eleanor to add. I found so many, I have to make a post just for the pics! Eleanor and Savannah have been homeschooled and grew up together in a very close group of girls. It's been amazing to watch them grow up together and their friendships are really special and close, very much like sisters.

Princesses!

Sorry for the horrible image quality...no dslr or photography skillz back then! ;)

Getting ready to go collect BUGS!

Halloween a couple years ago. Notice that Eleanor is dressed as Alice (her FAVORITE character...more on this and our trip plans to come!)

I think they have even changed just in a year! This was last May/June? 2012

and just recently:

and one more, this is a comparison of all the girls from when they first started going to the Nutcracker in December and then this past year when we went.

It really is crazy how fast they grow up. Anyway, more plans to come. Eleanor is SO very excited about the trip. I have been told she is researching on her own, Savannah said she was looking up the best shoes to wear and procedures in the airport...ah, a girl-planner after my own heart! :lmao:

What wonderful pictures Karen! Sometimes it's fun to take a walk down Memory Lane....but it sure does remind you how fast they are growing up. You can see in the pictures how they are both making that transition from "little girls" to "young women". Let me know if you find a way to make it stop! :lmao:

:lmao: If I could make it stop, surely I would! You had memory lane pics too...I was just looking at your Epcot shots, I never got to see the "hand/wand" thingie on Spaceship Earth! Ok, heading back over there to finish reading, I got an email that there was a response here and it distracted me. You distracted me from your own PTR! ;)

Oh, those pictures are SO great!

I agree that the girls have all changed so much this year, and not just in looks. There's a budding maturity too. Sometimes it startles me and I get nostalgic for my little girl but it doesn't last long because this young lady I have now is so great. :lovestruc

Hilarious that Eleanor is planning on her own. She has mentioned before that their trip to UO could have used a little more research so maybe that's what prompted it...

:lmao: Well, you know me...ANY planning is good planning! ;)

Yep, totally nostalgic for that itty girl but love the pre-teen I have now! (ah, I won't be able to say that after October and she's officially a "teen") :thumbsup2

Love the flashback pictures!!!

I am running the 10k and full marathon in January. I'm also running the NYC Marathon in November. I am not running the Princess. I would love to run it but.... We just bought DVC at the Grand Floridian so no trips in February or Spring Break. It seems a fair trade-off. :rotfl2:

Hey all caught up on your trip report. I am currently signed up to run in the TOT ten miler which will be my first race ever(actually first run disney I will be doing a half in Philly in September). I also have signed up for the glass slipper challenge. Which scared me at first but I thought I'm running for a great cause and I know I will be able to do it. So hope to read more of the planning and will definitely read your blog. Hope to see you princess: at the race.

Have a great 4th of July!

Hey everyone!!! I hope you all had a great 4th of July! I'm slammed with work right now, everyone went out of town for the holiday and so petsitting is crazy! I hope to have a proper update next week...the 10th is coming! They'll be releasing rates and I am ready to book! :thumbsup2

So, Savannah, Eleanor, and I are booked at Savannah's favorite resort ever!

This will be the first thing I get when we arrive!

We may even have to have another POP CENTURY Disney Day since Eleanor wasn't at our last one. I'm not sure we could top it though!

Today is our 225 Day mark! That sounds so far, but 7 months, 1 week, and 6 days doesn't sound so bad! I actually booked from Thursday the 20th of February to Wednesday the 26th only because I'm just not sure if we'll fly into Orlando on Thursday or Friday. The flights look a bit cheaper on Thursday, but if I have to pay another night at the resort it won't be worth it unless they are MUCH cheaper and I won't know that for a few months. I booked it and figured I can cut a day but wanted to make sure they didn't get booked up and not be able to add it.

We made a countdown calendar for Eleanor, she was pretty excited when we gave it to her but I forgot to get a picture of HER with it! Bad me! I'm sure there will be many many photos to come, so I'll make up for it later. Anyway, each month has different characters on it and I hand-wrote the countdown on it for her, putting special milestone days (100 DAYS!) in red.

So, that's it for now! I have ADR's in August, airfare issues messing with my itinerary since I don't know what day we will arrive, and autograph book decisions to make in the next few months! :thumbsup2

I just realized that with how busy I was over the 4th of July, I totally forgot to update about my GLOW RUN 5K! It was so awesome! It saves me space on my photobucket if I just direct you to the blog post with the writeup and all the pics b/c they are already uploaded there! June 29th Glow Run 5K-Kansas City Pics!

Thanks Ann!! :woohoo: I have just a few more days to wait than you though. ;) Your trip is coming up so soon!!! Erin was just at 45, so you are around that too, right???

Yep, today we are at 39 DAYS!!!! I just can't believe it. Everyone in my HH is soooo excited and so happy that we are going back to POR!! I don't think we'll ever leave POR again. :rolleyes1. I will have to update my PTR as I've taken some pictures LOL! OH, and I had left out Cape May clam bake as an ADR thinking we just don't have room for it....but I MADE room for it and we'll just pay OOP for dinner at 50's Prime Time. I used Erin's little cheat sheet and figured out which ADR would be the cheapest and will pay for that one.

Whoohooo! In the 30s!!! I cannot believe it's been a year since your last trip already! I'm glad you were able to add in another ADR...you can never have too many of them, right? ;)

Just dropping by. So excited for you that you are officially BOOKED!!!! Wooohooo! I love the countdown calendar you made for Eleanor...so cute! :thumbsup2

I'm not sure which airline you will fly and when you plan to book flights, but an FYI...Southwest will release their flights from Feb. 13 and on July 22. Good luck getting inexpensive flights!

Thanks! I was actually looking on the site, trying to figure out when they would release, earlier today! We will most likely fly SW because it's the only airline that has a straight flight from St. Louis and I really don't want to change flights. I can tell from the prices earlier in the month that it's going to be fairly expensive compared to what I'm used to though.
:sad2:

Hi! I wasn't sure where to post this, but I recently stumbled across your Everybody Dance Now trip report and I'm now working my way through all of your trip reports. I had to post and tell you that I loved your AKL photos (especially) so much! AKL is our favourite resort and your pictures are the best I've ever seen. Forgive me if I've missed it and you've answered this 100 times before, but which camera do you use? Photo editing software? DH and I are real beginner photographers and are trying to learn as much as possible.
