I was able to change our reservations for the week after Thanksgiving from SSR to BCV this morning while waitlisting for VWL. We have never stayed at BCV so when I was making the change I realized I didn't know what requests to add to the reservation other than non-smoking and an upper floor. Can anyone make suggestions?

I'm a bit disappointed that our first stay at BCV will probably be too cold to take advantage of SAB, but at least we'll be able to see what all the fuss is about. ;)

It might not be too cold at all - last year it was down right warm. :flower:

since you can't ask for the Epcot view any longer - how about a woods view?

the problem with the pool view is it is also a parking lot view. but hey if that is what you want go for it.

there are 5 floors - so I ask for as high as possible.

Thanks for the tips! Since there is no official Epcot view any more, what view would an Epcot view be considered? How can a pool view also be a parking lot view? Can I request a view of the Boardwalk?

How can a pool view also be a parking lot view?

The dunes cove pool view is next to the parking lot with the pool house and the stream breaking up the two. If you have an upper floor, you will be able to see the parking lot over the pool.

Can I request a view of the Boardwalk?

There are a very small number of rooms that are close to the road & stretch into what was the woods, but since the hurricanes took down a large amount of these woods a very limited view of the Boardwalk can be seen. There isn't a request category for the BW view. It is just luck.

Thanks again! I was only thinking of SAB when I thought of "pool view". Are there any BCV rooms that overlook SAB?

No - only BC Resort rooms overlook SAB

Then would we be better off with a Woods View room if we are hoping to see some of Illuminations from our balcony?

Yes - with a higher floor.

You should be fine for SAB, its is kept very warm. :sunny:

You probably won't have any problem with swimming the week after Thanksgiving.

Two years ago we were down the week after Thanksgiving, and got in 3 days at SAB. It was probably mid-70s on those days. Weather can be somewhat iffy regarding temps at that time, but I'd still take your suits.

The pool view at BCV isn't all that bad. Yes, you'll see a bit of the parking lot, but you'll also have the creek and its surrrounding landscaping as a buffer.

Have fun!!

Brian

Thanks Brian! I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for VWL but if it doesn't work out we're extremely happy to get the chance to stay at the BCV.

Thanks for all the advice we received about room requests for BCV, but DVC called yesterday to say our waitlist for VWL came through. We have never stayed at either BCV or VWL, but VWL just seems better for the holiday decorations. So, now I must ask, any suggestions for room requests for VWL?

Thanks again!
PJ
