Updated: Ticket Prices increasing Tomorrow (CONFIRMED)

Yeah....I don't typically complain about Disney ticket prices...I think the value is there for my family since we live close and go often.
But if the PAP discount is really cut down to $10-$20 off I will absolutely come unglued! That can't possibly be right...

I find this odd too.

PAP renewal discount was $60 when I renewed in November. :confused3

Same for my mid January renewal.

Be sure to take care of it BEFORE your AP expires though.

They used to allow renewals for awhile after the expiration date (same date of course, so no extending by a few days by letting it lapse) but no more. My AP expired on a Sunday and I was at the ticket booths before the parks opened Monday morning and I had to ask for a supervisor and plead my case big time to get them to do an override. I was reminded umpteen times that they were allowing a one time exception as a courtesy and I should NOT be getting the renewal discount.

I had a $60.00 discount in August when I renewed. The $10-$20 can't possibly be right. Something is amiss! :jester:

I'm still not quite convinced that ticket prices for DLR will be going up at this point in the year, but it's worth pointing out that last year WDW increased their ticket prices on February 23, 2014. So there are rumors starting to come up that WDW will again increase their prices this Sunday (February 22, 2015). The rumors seem to indicate that WDW increase is likely, but the DLR increase seems more uncertain (not surprising given the refrubs, the bad press with the measles, etc.).

I will be surprised if there is no DLR increase this year at some point, with the 60th Anniversary. Maybe in May/June, which seems more typical than February.

I agree; I expect prices to go up in May, just before the start of the 60th anniversary events in May (last year, prices went up on May 18, 2014). A lot of the early rumors were lumping WDW and DLR ticket price increases together, but I've noticed that the latest round seem more focused on WDW. Perhaps DLR had signaled they were going to increase their prices on the same schedule as WDW, but recent events have made them re-think their decision on an early price increase.

It's wise of them to pay attention to their customers. An early price increase when they usually raise them later in the year would be very frustrating to a lot of park goers!

They have changed the timing of the increase in the past. For several years the increase happened in August, but then it changed to May/June. So they have changed the timing in the past. I can see where a raise in prices in Feb makes some sense (in normal years) because it's ahead of the Spring Break season. However, given conditions this year, I was expecting the rise to occur in May, ahead of the 60th anniversary summer season. I guess we'll know more if WDW does raise the ticket prices this weekend and DLR does or does not do anything.

As a travel agent I have customers groaning about the pass prices as they are. Being in Canada the rates of the park passes flux with the American Dollar and right now its horrid. Its like an extra $30+ per adult ticket for a 5 day hopper. That would be horrible if Disney put their prices up even higher. I have my trip booked for September and I am biding my time to get my passes hoping the dollar will get better but I don't want to wait too long either in case the rates increase soon and then I am hit twice.

Normally, I'd agree, but did you see the flack Disney got when prices went up last year? The increase was $4 for one-day tickets and was talked about negatively for at least a month after. I personally don't see them wanting the same thing to happen.

If they raise the prices so close to the release of the 60th offerings, what are news outlets and the public going to talk about? A new water show, or how they raised their prices AGAIN.

Raising them this weekend, if it happens, would allow everything to smooth over a bit, and allow them to collect extra revenue for Spring Break and the celebration later on in May. Win-Win for Disney. The negative press is coming with an increase. The only thing they can do to alleviate it is when that press occurs.

That's a good point...given that there is already bad press (e.g., measles), might as well get it all out there and hope it fades before the summer season starts. The other option is that they could wait to raise the ticket prices until the end of the summer (e.g., go back to the August price increase schedule). I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Glad I decided not to wait to see if Orbitz was going to do the 20% ebates deal and went ahead and bought my tickets last week.

A few notes:
  • The annual parking pass is available for renewals only, but not new purchases. If you already have parking on your pass and you renew on time, you can renew the parking.
  • The Southern California annual pass is once again offered for renewals only for those who already have the pass and renew on time. No new purchases are offered.

Well, I made the right choice buying my tickets last night (of course I don't know if second party vendors will raise their prices at the same time, I don't know what has happened when there were increases in the past)!

Thank you for the heads up. I just bought my tickets.
Does anyone know if room rates are increasing?
