Well to start with it took her 4 hours to get back to me!! And then she told me that I my price wouldn't change at all with the new discount. Silly me, I believed her. I ran my days/tickets/resort on the WDW website and got almost $300 cheaper! Is it possible that my TA was unable to get that price for me, or do I just have a lousy TA?

We had 4 nights/5days MYW parkhopper/dining at All Star Sports 11/2-11/6 for $1943 and the WDW site has it for $1655. It is really hard for me to believe she just wasn't able to do it. Is there anyway to still go through AAA?

Why do you still want to go through AAA? If you're getting a better deal on WDW website just book there and cancel AAA. I don't think you'll get even more of a discount going through AAA.

And yes, I'd have to vote that you're AAA TA was not looking out for your best interest or did not know how to take advantage of the deal.

It it's still available I'd book the cheaper rate and cancel AAA. Just my opinion...... there might be other circumstances that I don't understand.

I think I might go that route. My sister and I booked our rooms together and I won't get a chance to talk to her until the morning to get her opinion. I only joined AAA for the disney discount, and although I will still get discounts other places, it will just really annoy me if they cant make it work for me.

I don't think she knows what she's doing or is just lousy. I would take the deal on the website if it's still available and cancel your AAA - the h*ll with her.

P.s. I would call the TA and tell her what YOU were able to find on your own.

I spent 30 minutes with mine a year ago and haven't talked to her since. Its been disboards, allears, mousesavers, and touringplans all the way:)
She tried to sell me some package that was more than what I priced together by myself and then she told me not to trust the above mention web sites. I walked out the door and didn't return her call.

My local AAA agent kept telling me I was wrong when I told her what our price SHOULD be (or close to) and kept telling me rack WAS the AAA discount. She finally said to me, "If you can get it cheaper somewhere else- YOU better book it" all snotty and condescending. I got the AAA of southern CA (I live in Maine) phone number from WDWBetsy  and got Marlayne who is FANTASTIC! Believes what I tell her and got me an additional $100 savings with the code yesterday.

As with everything else, some are better than others! Keep trying!

I don't trust my AAA TA either. I called and e-mailed yesterday - she finally responded to my e-mail saying what I had was the lowest price - I then investigated it myself with the YQC and the YQE codes and she was right - however, I then found out about the *** (code removed--it is for AAA agents only) code which is the correct one to be applied with AAA packages - I e-mailed her last night asking her to re-price it again with that code (this time with dining added as well). I started my e-mail with an apology as I'm sure I'm driving her nuts. I'm wondering if I should call another AAA agent who might be more helpful. I just don't trust this TA really knows what's going on - I am basing this on the fact that she told me that requesting a pool view room at Poly was a higher price than GV, which is completely false - instead of arguing with her, I just rephrased the request to a specific longhouse and floor without mentioning the word "pool". I just feel like she doesn't want to be bothered.

So Marlayne got you an additional savings off of your existing AAA reservations? Just gave her the confirmation?

Can I have her phone #?

I'm not sure how helpful mine will be.. Keeps assuring me she's looking and trying, but half the time she's not even in the office or gets in late which could mean I miss the deal right there.

My AAA TA is great. she wasn't able to find aything for us this time in a deluxe for our dates. But when we wanted to go from 8-9 nights and have dining on the 9th, she was the greatest. At first Disney just wanted to add 1 night at rack rate $350 with no dining. When I told her that was higher than the Disney web site she called back. After 5 calls to me and Disney she canceled our first package of 8 nights and booked a new package for 9 nights for an increase of $135 :cool1: . And that was for the Contemporary, hopper passes and dining.

The only problem AngieWin may have at this time is she is within the penalty timeframe for her package. I'm going to WDW 11/2-11/5 also and are within the 45 day penalty. She should call or email her TA again and tell her to apply the *** code to your AAA package. I went into my AAA TA's office yesterday and when she called to inquire about the YQE code, CRO told her that the correct code for AAA packages is ***(code removed--it is for AAA agents only). That gets you the same discount as the YQE code plus the perks of the AAA package. If she has a problem with it, ask to speak with her supervisor.

I think its just that particular agent. My AAA already had the discount added to our trip before I was even able to get through to her on the phone yesterday. First thing as soon as she got in yesterday she got Disney on the line and everyone she had booked during that period, she had their rates adjusted. I had tried calling her at 9am, but couldn't get her and I left a message. She called back at almost 10am saying she was sorry she missed my call, she was on the phone with Disney at that time getting everyone switched. I just think some are willing to go the extra mile and some aren't.

AAA has it uses. I still use them for plane tickets, mostly because I can apply my AAA Diamond Advantage Card Rewards Vouchers to the purchase (saved $150 in May). However, it is a rare AAA Agent that is a true WDW expert.

I have now booked 4 WDW trips with Dreams Unlimited and they have been flawless. They apply AAA discounts and watch for better. Yesterday, I did not have to spend one second on the phone. Kelsie took care of applying the room-only discount to our 3 rooms. DU books my ADRs, makes helpful suggestions, gets ressies & room locations that are hard to come by and always has up to date info. Unless something changes drastically, I can't imagine using anyone else.

Oh, and I am a professional event planner who went to Travel School, and I still believe DU can do better than I can on my own!

Probably did not want to lose the commission. Our AAA TA is a friend of ours and works on commission so when he gets back from WDW in a few days he will be upset that we are canceling the package with him because we got a better deal with the new discount.

Yup...my AAA TA must be friends with all of your agents!!!!! Finally we got in touch w/ her late yesterday afternoon and asked her to call and get the scoop. She said she call WDW and b/c of some black out dates, and the dinning deal was all sold out( this is all 2nd hand info from my DH) we could get no deals. Then she said she'd call WDW back to see if she could talk to another CM, and maybe find some kind of deal. My DH talked to her around 7:00( she works later hours 3-10) ummmm yup...still no call or e-mails from her. And of coarse my DH keeps saying " none of the deals apply to us, she already checked" Thats fine if thats the case, but a simple call or e-mail to say the 2nd try fell through, and we can't a deal" would have been nice!!! Iam really not sure she did try her best, b/c I feel if she did, she would have gotten back to us to let us know!!! I just called my DH @ work, and asked him to call her office. I know she isn't in yet, but told him to ask someone else for help! Sorry to be a wanker, but I am really frustrated :headache:

I just called another AAA office in my state and asked to speak with a TA. I didn't tell her I already had a reservation - I just stated what I was looking for. So far she has been very diligent in calling me back. She was not aware of the YQJ code, however, so she is calling Disney again to see if it would apply. Hopefully, I will FINALLY get a definitive answer on this. One nice thing - so far this AAA TA is far nicer than the one I have been dealing with. We'll see.

Just spoke with the other AAA TA - the code does nothing for me. I'm just happy I got an answer! She was so nice!!! I am glad I at least found a nice, reponsive AAA TA for future travel.

Marthasor...at least you finally got an answer. Sometimes I think all this knowledge is a great thing and then others I think...gosh to be blissfully ignorant :rotfl2:
By any chance are you staying at the WL...seems to be real hard to get a discount there in Dec. Of course this is where we are staying! I have actually considered switching to AKL for a better deal....but in the long run it would only save me about $88 so maybe not.
Have a great trip!

I called my AAA TA yesterday and left a message about the code. She called me back about an hour later and saved me $90 at POR. But believe me, over a year ago I almost swore to never call AAA again because of one TA who was very unresponsive. Wendy seems to have come through for me this time though.

Funny, wouldn't you think they would all try to work hard for their clients cause that's how they get commission???

Many AAA TA's and most of the Disney CRO agents seem unaware of the AAA code. Mine managed to figure it out.

AAA packages must use the AAA code for the discount, or you will have to re-book under the other codes, which are NOT as good a deal as the AAA code.

I don't expect my AAA TA to always understand the codes if Disney can't even keep them straight. I'm on the West coast so they're more DL oriented.

I have a AAA TA that understands I'm obsessive, and will work with me.

If my travel agent blew me off, I would be on the phone with a super immediately, and then I would be getting a new agent.

By the way, I did have to speak to 2 Disney agents and a super yesterday to get them to let my TA get the deal.

Disney CRO agents are pathetic in their knowledge about their own deals. It's not the CRO agents fault, it's the fault of Disney and their training. They come in to work with NO knowledge, and then tell you honestly that they don't know anything about a deal.
