Updated list of Refurbs for 2014

Day one in the parks for us is Feb. 24th. The schedule for that day is up on the Disneyland website and it says that the Mark Twain Riverboat will be closed that day. Does anyone know anything about that? I hope it's not going to be all week just like the Disneyland Railroad.

ETA: Will the Sailing Ship Columbia be running? We've never been on it before so my kids would be thrilled if that was an alternative.

I know the dates are not set in stone and potentially can move... but if a ride is down, say 3/3 to 3/6 would you expect it to reopen on the 6th or 7th? is the last date meant to be inclusive?

thanks

Hydroguy - I wish you were in some position at Disney to make things happen! Someone needs to have a reasonable head on their shoulders. I happened to glance at the WDW closings - not one during the 2 weeks on either side of Easter. Most end by March. That seems more reasonable for "peak" season prices, points, crowds, etc.

Helen - I was wondering the same thing. Good question on the dates.

The interactive map now shows the Alice refurb to begin Mar. 10 and go until July 3.

That shaves a whole month off the refurb - works out for us now but this was not a make or break ride - I am just hoping more rides are not added to the list!! :upsidedow

oooohhh!! This would be AWESOME! We had to miss out on Alice on our last trip because it was just too darn busy, and I was so bummed that we'd have to miss it on our upcoming trip too because it's my fave, so this would make my day!! I hope it's true! Thanks for the info!

One more ride to add to our list. Feb is turning out to be a pretty good month to go now. However, I have a weird feeling BTMRR will not be opening on Feb 1st. Still crossing my fingers.

Another one bites the dust....

I was just checking on my dates again - using the calendar feature under "attractions" on Disneyland's website and it appears

Little Mermaid - Ariel's Undersea Adventure is down as of March 20th.
The online calendar only goes thru April 15th right now but it's down for that date as well - so at least 3/20-4/15 as of right now.

NOOO!!! That's my toddlers favorite ride! Hope it's back up for the end of April :(

I sure hope that is a short rehab and back up by the end of June or we're going to have a very upset 3 year old!

Ummmm I invited you to meet up with us so whatever. :-)

Granted, it's only up the 1st day of our trip - which wasn't even going to be a park day originally!

If you click on the map, it has it closed through May 9. I arrive on the May 10th:cool1:

Man alive...
I have remained fairly positive in regards to all the closures, but I am starting to feel a little frustrated at the amount down :(

It doesn't shave an entire month off - it just bumps it back a month, according to what is here on the DIS (which is beginning of Feb-beginning of June). Bummer since it is a favorite of my older girls and we'll be there at the end of June. Good thing we're going back in Nov, right?!

Wow - while this is not scheduled to impact our visit - it makes me worried rides that we do love and that right now show no indication of being taken offline could easily end up being down when we are there.

March 20th - just when spring break is ramping up too!

This comment right here is what everyone on this board needs to realize.

You can check the calendar on Disney's site every single minute if you want to drive yourself crazy, but the reality is that things change. If your favorite is down for your trip dates at the moment, it could move. If you move your dates, you have just moved yourself out of your favorite attraction. If your favorite attraction is showing as running during your dates, it could at any time show up on the refurb schedule.

Attractions are made up of running pieces. Supply orders could come in late. Labor needs could shift. Safety regulations could require a fluctuation in schedules.

In my opinion, checking the schedule weeks out (muchless months) is just an exercise in futility. It's going to do nothing except drive yourself crazy. When you are a week out from your visit, check the calendar for setting proper expectations, but anything beyond that is just driving yourself crazy because things can change at any time.

Just my advice,
Dreams

The Little Mermaid was the only ride my dd3 didn't cry on last year when we went for the first time with her. She was terrified of almost everything else we tried. We rode it 10+ times in a day. She has been talking about it ever since, and about going on it with her cousins and her grandma and papa this spring, as we have a once in a lifetime family trip planned with everyone. I am seriously heartbroken for her. I get there are bigger problems in the world, but that was honestly the one ride out of anything in either park that we have been wanting to do this year with our whole family. Hopefully it opens a little early or gets shifted around. It really does seem a little ridiculous at how many rides have such long closures this spring. Maybe I just never paid much attention to it because I hadn't been in 10 years.

I know that nothing is set and stone, but things seem to be going from bad to worse in April. When I booked my trip, Alice, Soarin' and Nemo were on the refurb list. Then Space and Indy were added. Now we have the Little Mermaid and the possibility of POTC moving its refurb up from the end of January. Will there be anything left to ride come April?
