*UPDATED* DISDivas & Family October Mini Meet *UPDATED* (3.0 Version!)

Yeah I know a lot of people look at it as an opportunity to go on the rides with less waits of whatever but we always use fastpass and never usually have to wait too much for rides anyway so to us it is all about the special stuff that you can't do or see any other time. My kids LOVE the trick or treating part of course and getting the pics with the characters because of the fact that they are in the special costumes. We sat and waited for their "parade" and it rained on us in 07 and then it was not much of a parade. I don't know if it is any better now but I will be interested to see what it is like. We just enjoyed soaking up all the fun atmosphere and seeing everyone in costumes and just being there. I hate to admit it though but the one in Florida is a bit better cuz there parade is a LOT better and they have the fireworks there in the park since it is in the Magic Kingdom but we didn't ride on any rides when we did that one either except Haunted Mansion. I mean that was kind of a prerequisite. Esp there since they make it EVEN spookier if you can believe that!

But since I can't go to Florida this one is still fun! And it will be even MORE fun with all my Diva friends!!

The parks close early (at 9 p.m.) and I know some of us were thinking about meeting for drinks at the lounge in the Grand.

Tracey - we'll be there on Thursday evening, so we should meet up! I *think* some of use are meeting for drinks after the park closes........

Oh Yes, for sure! How fun will that be! Sounds like a few of us may be there?

So what is everyone dressing up as?

So far I am thinking just shirts for us.
My current crew will be DBF~ Laramie, DS13 Jordan & DS9 Kaeleb.
HOWEVER, Jordan must earn his way on this vacation. He has been such a teenager that in order for him to go his grades must be good, no back talking and such things that teenagers do. So far....he is barely able to go.
So I am going to be the "Mean" mom and probably end up leaving him home. But I am not going to reward him for such bad behavior. I dunno what happened he turned 13 and it all went to hell.......

But anywhos the rest of the family will have fun.

I am so excited!! I am ordering the tickets on Monday.

Oh Deb! I feel your pain. Some moments with my newly 13 year old just leave me shaking my head. I feel like his body has been snatched some days. I hope he can survive long enough to grow up!

We will likely get in around 1pm on Thursday and I would totally be up for meeting up for some "late night" fun and drinks that night. I also want to meet up with my ride buddy Tracey so that we can power our way around the parks before she has to take off!!!

My family's agenda will be very similiar to Kelly's--trick or treating and meeting characters/doing the special photo opps that are only available during the party. We did mostly that stuff last year, in fact I don't think we rode a single ride, since Ty is so character crazy. Actually, as I look back on it, I think we spent over half the party in line to meet Mickey and Minnie. I'm not sure I want to do that again, but since we are going as Mickey, Minnie and Pete, we just might have to.

Hey, how am I getting my Minnie Dress to you??? I can just bring it, but don't know if you want it sooner than that to try on?? I can probably vaccum seal it and stuff it into a $10 priority mail box?? Just let me know.

Actually, a girlfriend of mine may be coming along. She is going to let me know if the next day or two. Then we will decide if we will splurge for a disney hotel or stay at HOJO's. I don't really care myself.

I feel your pain as well Deb with your son. And it is not just boys!! Lynn started dropping her grades at 14. She was on the honor roll through 8th grade and then went from basically straight A's in honor's classes to C's and D's. It was ridiculous. And there was NO reason for it except laziness. She got into boys and wanting to be popular and be the "outcast" or whatever and grades were no longer important. But they CAN be turned around. You know what happened in MY situation but it doesn't HAVE to end that way. Kids CAN turn around and you are a strong level headed mom and I am sure you will get him on the straight and narrow!! ((hugs))

I'm up for riding California Screamin' at the TOT party. I have never been on it but I really want to give it a try. DH and DS are ride weenies and I have just never really wanted to go by myself.

Yep, and only specific flights are $59 each way. None of them are non-stop. To fly into SNA was $69 each way, and there was much less selection on flights.

Hey Katilyn my DD of almost 16 is going to dress up. She is a sophomore, so that is only a year ahead of Allyson....right? I was kind of hoping that maybe they would talk a little. I don't want to force anything, but thought maybe it might work out. Who knows?

A mean Mom is a good Mom, but sometimes it is sooooooooo hard. I hope that he proves to you, that he is trying. Here is a hug for you.

I'm going as Annette Funicello from the Mickey Mouse Club. I'm having a hard time finding the right kind of sweater at the moment. I can make the skirt, but I really didn't want to have to put together the top. Here is a picture of the gang. If anyone sees a sweater like this anywhere, could you let me know? Thanks!
