*UPDATED* DISDivas & Family October Mini Meet *UPDATED* (3.0 Version!)

We've finally figured out what Zoe is going as. She was challenging this year. She finally decided she was going as half angel and half devil. My mom is helping with the costume. I'm thinking it will be adorable. And Zoe can so carry it off.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. The last two years, I've worn all black and a witches hat and makeup. But, the hat keeps flying off. I do have a bright yellow poodle skirt. If that still fits, I may wear it....I don't know. The boys aren't going to the trick or treat party, so they won't be dressing up. I think the plan is for the boys to go over to DL while we're at the party. Katie, if Devon wants to join them, let me know.

Hey Katilyn my DD of almost 16 is going to dress up. She is a sophomore, so that is only a year ahead of Allyson....right? I was kind of hoping that maybe they would talk a little. I don't want to force anything, but thought maybe it might work out. Who knows?

Yup, Allyson is a freshman, probably one of the youngest since she just turned 14 in July. I told her there will be other kids there right around her age, they should have fun!!

And of course, Callie misses us, how couldn't she!!

We got our halloween "costumes" from that site too!

What did you guys decide on?

Jesse has already let me know that no way, no how is going to wear a Mickey Mouse shirt at any time during the trip....... dang, teenagers are so very difficult :confused3

My son will still wear Mickey shirts (he's wearing one in the picture below). He's picky about the kind of shirt he will where, but he does where them. My daughter says it's embarrassing, but that's what I like about my son, he doesn't care what anyone thinks about him.

My daughter on the other hand :rolleyes1 :headache:.

I was planning on staking out spots for Fantasmic on Friday night, but if we change our plans, I check with him :thumbsup2.

That's good that he'll still wear them. Jesse has about 12 of them and he just refuses to wear them now (I guess he's too cool now that he's in grade 9 :confused3). The sneaky bugger has hidden them too, so I have no idea where they all suddenly went to......... Some of them are really cool too. He has one Mickey where he looks kind of mean, like Jack Skellington. Bummer, I think I'm going to have to go on a search mission to find them. Maybe he'll outgrow his coolness?

Stacielee - is grade 9 freshman? Here high school starts in grade 8, so this is Jesse's second year of high school, but he is the youngest in his class too. His b-day is December 28, so he just squeaked in to that year ;)

I'm ready for Disneyland NOW!!!

I'm ready, too!!! Bringing my bottles of wine as well!!! It will be time for a taste test :banana::banana:

Yes, freshman is 9th grade, or grade 9 as you call it. I remember when the kids would sometimes turn on Degrassi and that's how they said it so I figured it was from Canada. That, and the way they say "house" and other words that sound like that! High school is 9-12 grades here. For us though, you had to turn 5 before school started to start kindergarten. So having a birthday after the beginning of September usually meant you had to wait another year. Allyson's birthday is July 4.

I'm going in full costume (it's a surprise). When else can you do this at the parks? :rotfl:

Melody, that kind of sweater you might find at Macy's in like their Charter Club section (their own brand). They have a lot of classic stuff like that. The fun thing about your costume is that everyone will know who are you supposed to be since it will be spelled across your chest.

Just pulling us up from the dregs of page 2 to say I am leaving for them meet 1 month from today!!!!

Too funny! Are you bringing homework?? That would be the responsible thing, right? I probably won't.... it wouldn't get done realistically anyway. I just want a long weekend where I can have fun with my son :thumbsup2

Bring on the wine - taste testers are available for sure :rotfl:

Hmmmmm, I may need to make a visit to the party room!

Always room for visitors in the party room :cheer2: :woohoo:

Hi ladies. Well, I've been on the fence for several days over this trip, and I just can't get past the sick feeling in my stomach over being at DLR without my kids. They are missing it just as much as me, and we can't afford a family trip right now.

Kendall even volunteered to pay for herself (she's little miss moneybags!) so she could go with me, but then the two little ones would be really disappointed (to say the least).

So for now, I'm off the fence and staying put. Which isn't the worst thing in the world. I'll enjoy hearing all about your FUN weekend and the MToT party.

Donna, I've already looked at Macy's website, and all others I could think of. But I will keep on checking back. You never know. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Katie- Kaitlyn is like your son. She doesn't care what people think either. She lovesssssssss to dress up. How old is your son?? If I can get it figured out, I will post a picture of her from last years Halloween.

What an adorable costume and an adorable daughter! Makes me miss my DD! You are so talented!

And if you haven't found a sweater by the time I go to Denver in Oct. I can look for one there because I know they'll have plenty of their winter stuff in stores! I have one that is similar but it's black so that won't work.

Wow, Tinkermell! You are so talented! My Mom is a great seamstress and now DD, age 29, is getting her to teach her how to sew. I think it's wonderful and hope that someday she'll be able to sew a costume for her son or daughter. Thanks for sharing the photo of your beautiful daughter and the costume you made for her!

I've yet to meet any of you in person but where the party room is concerned, I'm guessing that term refers to just about any place that DisDivas congregate.....:rotfl:

Callie - Sorry to hear you are off the fence, but I completely understand your reasoning. Hopefully it won't be too long before your family makes it to Disneyland.

Mel- I love that costume!!! I wish I could sow. My DS just turned 14 this past weekend. He actually wants to be a Power Ranger for Halloween but I'm having a hard time finding an adult costume that doesn't cost an arm & a leg.

Have you checked into the t-shirt costumes? Then you can add to it. I think the shirt is on sale for $10

The shirts are cute and at least it's something different. Jesse has already let me know that no way, no how is going to wear a Mickey Mouse shirt at any time during the trip....... dang, teenagers are so very difficult :confused3

Yes they are difficult. That goodness we love them or we would have drowned them by now.

Taylor will be there....she will be 14 in Dec.
