(Updated 8/8) How Many Times Can We Switch Hotels? - Tokyo Disney TR May 2025

You are the TR queen! Enjoying it thanks so much. Do you recall how much the unlimited FPs were?
I'm glad you're enjoying it! As far as the unlimited fastpasses, they're only available as part of a vacation package, and the vacation package price varies with the amount of people, the hotel selected, etc. With our package, staying at a harbor view at Hotel Miracosta, it was a (kind of exorbitant) 316,000 yen.

Zip-a-Dee-Dah! - Sunday May 25, 2025 (part 8)

Then we were at Splash Mountain!
IMG_8771.JPG
The queue was so cute - I can't even. This was at the loading area:
IMG_8776.JPG
As expected now, A+ theming. :)

IMG_2253.JPG
The ride itself was great, and it was a nice little nostalgia hit to see the original finale again.

IMG_8780.JPG
As we exited, it dumped us out into Critter Country. There's not a lot there but still some super cute theming, and we even saw Chip and Dale wandering around! They were swamped with a crowd so we didn't hang around them but looked around at the theming.
IMG_8783.JPG
IMG_8786.JPG
This upside down canoe on top was my favorite. :D

The gift shop area back there was closed but they did have a quick service, and we got another free/included drink, as we headed to the next ride - Haunted Mansion! It's pretty much the exact same as DisneyWorld so I didn't really take any pictures. I did try to film the hitchhiking ghosts at the end, but NO GHOSTS FOLLOWED US HOME!

Shocking. :D

We kept working our way around the park, and the next ride with a fastpass was Pooh's Hunny Hunt!!
IMG_8796.JPG
Passed this cute little statue on the way. :D

I was really excited for Pooh's Hunny Hunt - I'd heard all sorts of good things about it and this one for whatever reason I tried to avoid spoilers, so I couldn't wait to ride.
IMG_8801.JPG
How cute is that at the entrance?
IMG_8803.JPG
I'm a sucker for maps - this was right after the fastpass merge point.

And then the line winds through the book!

Trackless Rides are the Best - Sunday May 25, 2025 (part 9)

As we got to the load point, there was another map right behind the loading area!
PXL_20250525_054511763.MP.jpg
Sorry, I just really love maps. :D

And we got the front row!
PXL_20250525_055003968.MP.jpg
It was awesome - just super adorable. Like honestly, I loved it. It's like the Pooh ride at DisneyWorld, but way better. An epic fever dream. :D At the end, they even pump in honey scents (cause you reunite with Pooh in just a pool of honey). A+ We went around again, cause unlimited fastpass! :)

Getting off the ride was still even more theming - you're in Christopher Robin's bedroom.
IMG_8814.JPG
IMG_8817.JPG
And this super cute rose hallway.
PXL_20250525_055305428.jpg
The gift shop had all the pooh things you could want...we definitely got a couple things (including Winnie the Pooh shaped honey madeleines), but pressed on for more rides. :) Well lies, popcorn first: Trevor got the honey popcorn which ended up being weirdly floral, and I grabbed some milk chocolate popcorn from the stand in ToonTown, which I really liked.

Popcorn acquired, we went to ride Beauty and the Beast again. The problem with Beauty and the Beast is there's always like a 10 minute wait after the preshow, but still, worth it.
PXL_20250525_064744820.jpg
This time as we got seated, we noticed buckets of baguettes - Trevor took a picture, cause that's like his dream. :)
PXL_20250525_064803113.jpg
:)

So fun! I love the Beast's goofy face in the "Something There" scene. And watching the transformation never gets old.
IMG_8836.JPG
As we exited a nice family took a picture of us at the shield.
PXL_20250525_065702639.jpg
PXL_20250525_065707845.jpg
So nice of them. :)

Tomorrowland - Sunday May 25, 2025 (part 10)

As we walked out, the scary fog was cranked up to 11.
IMG_8838.JPG
It's less scary in the afternoon. :)

Next up, Tomorrowland and Star Tours! Though we passed the Salted popcorn stand on the way with no line, so we got that. And it was delicious. Standard flavor but sometimes in a sea of crazy flavors, standard salt is delicious.

At Star Tours, they'd closed the fastpass line cause the standard wait time was so short.
IMG_8845.JPG
The line was only like 5 minutes, so makes sense. We got Hoth (which is a sequence I haven't seen in a while), then Andor, and then Space Whales! No Naboo! Woot. :) Neither of us was the rebel spy though.

Star Tours exits onto a second floor, which gives a pretty good view, actually.
IMG_8850.JPG
The hotel! :)

Also, I think this has to be the only Disney place ever where there's Star Wars and NO Star Wars merch. I was sure there'd be Star Wars merch near Star Tours, but nope. Which is interesting.

Next up, Monsters Inc!! I was excited for this one - especially (I know you're bored of hearing me say it) as we got close enough to see the theming.
IMG_8852.JPG
Then walking inside - it was literally like walking into the movie.
IMG_8858.JPG
The fastpass line was a little bit backed up (there on the right) but that was ok, we just got to look at the theming more.
IMG_8862.JPG
IMG_8865.JPG
After the fastpass merge point, they have more posters and theming like you're in the employees area:
IMG_8867.JPG
So this ride is basically you get a little flashlight and shine it on the Monsters Inc logo on the hard hats, and when you do animatronics or effects happen. It's super cute, despite the veeeeeeery limited legroom. This is another ride that felt like it was moving SUPER fast, which was both fun but also I wanted it to slow down a bit so I could look more at the ride.
PXL_20250525_073414058.jpg
PXL_20250525_073438369.MP.jpg
Roz talks to you at the end of the ride. :)

Baymax Curry! - Sunday May 25, 2025 (part 11)

The gift shop at the end of the ride was AWESOME. The merch was cute - we didn't end up buying anything but I did make Trevor try on a hat.
IMG_8875.JPG
Trevor trying on funny hats is literally one of my favorite things. :)

But really the cool part of the gift shop was the theming - like SO many easter eggs and just fun touches.
IMG_8878.JPG
IMG_8879.JPG
This was my favorite, the reference back to "Put That Thing Back Where It Came From Or So Help Me!"
IMG_8882.JPG
Though this one was good too. :D

IMG_8883.JPG
I included this cause it shows a bit what the ride is - you have a flashlight like the one he's holding, and then you shine it on the logo on the helmet and stuff happens, like in this case the helmet lifts up and reveals something (in this case a monster).

We went around again to ride it. :D Super cute - again, love those fastpasses. :)

After we finished the second ride, it was about 5 pm. We were a bit hungry, but mostly we were close to the Center Street Coffeehouse (and the Baymax curry!) and so we were going to head over to there to see if they could seat us now instead of waiting until our reservation at 7:10. But first, Mike Wazowski's car!
IMG_8894.JPG
We also saw the Bicycle pianist finishing his set.

I play the piano and I have NO idea how he does that (playing while on a bike and steering it). Crazy!

Over at the Center Street Coffeehouse, we politely asked and they let us in! The restaurant was pretty empty which I assume played into them being willing to seat us, but still, I was grateful.

We ordered (as I'm sure you're shocked by) the Baymax Curry: Beef Stroganoff & Chicken Curry with Rice, Fried Potato-Mochi, Broccoli, Marinated Vegetables
IMG_8902.JPG
SO CUTE. Look at little Baymax there. Like just so cute. It also tasted good too. Neither side was super spicy, but both were good flavor.

We also both got the Melon Soda Float:
IMG_8903.JPG
The flavor of this was good, but having a ton of ice in the drink made it hard to have the ice cream melt into the soda. So pro tip: if you're going to order this, order it without ice. If they'll let you. :)

After we finished eating, I did walk around and take pictures of the art - it was all Aristocats themed! Not sure why since it was art-deco but *shrugs*. Cool pictures. :)

Pre-Parade Chilling - Sunday May 25, 2025 (part 12)

More pictures!
IMG_8906.JPG
IMG_8907.JPG
IMG_8908.JPG
IMG_8909.JPG
Just adorable. Though not gonna lie, the geese one (Amelia!) is my favorite just cause I love the way the Uncle goose says their names.

At this point Trevor was flagging a bit, and we'd ridden all the fastpass rides, so we decided to head to the hub and get a good spot for the parade. There were plenty of spots, which only surprised me because social media is all "Tokyo Disney is so crowded!" but again today wasn't really crowded at all so I should have expected that.
IMG_8911.JPG
We got a spot on a bench, close to the bridge from Westernland, so we can see the parade head on and then as it turns and goes in front of us. And with 90 minutes to the parade, Trevor was happy to sit and reserve our spot and people watch, and I was gonna go do some shopping. :) Trevor gets shopped out so really this was a pretty ideal scenario.

On my way to look at the shops in World Bazaar I did do a quick loop through the hub to see all the Donald Duck stuff.
IMG_8912.JPG
IMG_8914.JPG
IMG_8916.JPG
IMG_8917.JPG
Also in World Bazaar they had characters out meeting and greeting again - I saw Wendy, but then I saw Bert with very few folks around him! So I got to meet him.
IMG_8927.JPG
Love it. :)

Popcorn Comparisons - Sunday May 25, 2025 (part 13)

I bought some cds in the gift shop there on Main Street (I like cds...I'm old :D), and then decided to go get some more popcorns and drinks for us to snack on during the parade. Trevor really liked the Black Pepper popcorn so I figured I'd go there first and then get some Berry Cheer drink.

It was about a 10 min wait for Black Pepper popcorn, which was longer than most of the stands all day but still not horrible.
IMG_8931.JPG
Then I grabbed a golden cider soda at Captain Hook and dropped those off with Trevor before heading over to Fantasyland for my berry drink.

This is slightly odd but hey...my report. :) I stopped in the bathrooms there in the Beauty and the Beast area and guys - they're all themed to like the village but they had horseshoes up with names, and as I looked I realized there from horses across the various movies!
IMG_8937.JPG
Achilles is from Hunchback, Frou Frou is from Aristocats, Khan is from Mulan.

IMG_8938.JPG
Horace is one of Mickey's friends, Philippe is from Sleeping Beauty, and Angus is from Brave. Like isn't that such a cute touch? Totally unnecessary, but just super cute.

Anyways, there was no line in the Tavern, which was nice. Though I did notice this picture on the wall:
IMG_8940.JPG
Which looks to me like exactly from the movie when Belle's dad heads off to the fair.

Anyways, Berry drink acquired, I joined Trevor back on our bench. It was a little more than 30 minutes to the parade, so it had definitely filled in a bit, but still wasn't super crowded.
IMG_8943.JPG
The drink was delicious. :)
IMG_8946.JPG
It was really nice, just sitting on the bench, with our snacks, enjoying the atmosphere and waiting for the parade. I liked the golden cider, Trevor was just ok about it. We were also discussing our thoughts on all the popcorn: we got all the flavors in the park except the corn potage and then the cheddar cheese and salted caramel at the Big Pop (not at a stand).

  • Caramel
  • Milk Chocolate
  • Honey
  • Strawberry Napolean (from the day before at the Big Pop)
  • Soy Sauce and Butter
  • Curry
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper
The only ones of these I thought were bad were the Honey, black pepper, and Soy Sauce/Butter. Trevor didn't think any were bad - Honey and soy sauce were his least favorite but even those were just meh, vs bad for him. Curry was our favorite savory. We also started thinking about what it would be like to eat the strawberry napolean and chocolate at the same time - strawberry chocolate! Too bad the strawberry napolean was back in the hotel room.

We were having fun snacking and discussing, and then Trevor almost got his head taken off by a duck. Disney ducks are the same all across the world. :)

And then, the parade! I was so excited to see the the dreamlights since I never got to see the Electrical Light Parade at Disney World.
IMG_8962.JPG

IMG_9004.JPG
IMG_9057.JPG
It did not disappoint. Oh my goodness - just look at those lights and effects.

Best Parade Ever! - Sunday May 25, 2025 (part 14)

More pictures of the Rapunzel float cause it was amazing.
IMG_9062.JPG
Rapunzel's hair lights up and then all the flowers change colors!
IMG_9065.JPG
So cool.

And then into the princess section -
IMG_9076.JPG
IMG_9089.JPG
The prince is in the dance floor/ballroom float (right after Cinderella in her carriage), looking for Cinderella amongst all the couples.
And then the Beauty and the Beast float which is just...wow.
IMG_9121.JPG
IMG_9138.JPG
IMG_9188.JPG

I was honestly just watching it and taking pics but Trevor filmed it:

This was hands down my favorite parade ever. I loved it - absolutely loved it. And was excited that we got to see it after it getting rained out the day before.

After the parade, we went to the gift shops in Fantasyland, cause honestly I was hoping to find some Haunted Mansion merchandise. I did not, but we bought some other things - Trevor found a light up Baymax on a necklace and it resonated with him just right:
IMG_9198.JPG
I buy stuff all the time just cause it makes me smile, and Trevor doesn't normally, so when he occasionally does, I just love it. Trevor's light up Baymax! :)

As we headed out, we took some pictures behind the castle:
IMG_9194.JPG
PXL_20250525_110913481.jpg
Cause how do you not?

It was about 8:20, and even though the park was open til 9, we were ready to head out and make our way to our new hotel. So we slowly made our way down World Bazaar (we did a bit more shopping though it was crowded!) and out to the monorail. By 8:35 pm we were on the monorail, heading to Tokyo DisneySea and the hotel Miracosta.

Miracosta Room Tour part 1 - Sunday May 25, 2025 (part 15)

By 8:45 we were at the hotel and checking. We didn't have to wait, which was nice, but check in at the hotel does take a little bit of time (about 10 minutes, which isn't that long but it kind of feeeeeeeeels long. :)). But pretty soon we were heading to our room. And guys I'm gonna apologize but they had these murals in between each door and they were awesome! So I'm including pics of all of them.
IMG_9221.JPG
IMG_9222.JPG
It's of the gang exploring different locations!
IMG_9223.JPG
IMG_9224.JPG
IMG_9225.JPG
IMG_9226.JPG
IMG_9227.JPG
Aren't those so cute? Like so unnecessary, but adorable. :)

Anyways, we finally made it to our room, and what do we see?
IMG_9231.JPG
Our luggage already in the room! BRILLIANT. Leaving our luggage in the previous room and having it show up here? Absolutely perfect.

ok, room tour with way too many pictures:
IMG_9230.JPG
This was on the left immediately after coming in the room.

MiraCosta Room Tour part 2: the View! - Sunday May 25, 2025 (part 16)

Room Tour continued!
IMG_9235.JPG
IMG_9238.JPG
IMG_9245.JPG
And on the bathroom door:
IMG_9244.JPG
Adorable explorer Mickey. :)

I also liked the mermaid Minnie theme all around -
IMG_9246.JPG
IMG_9247.JPG

But the best part? The view!!
IMG_9242.JPG
IMG_9243.JPG
Our first real glimpse of DisneySea - how cool! And can you see some of the lights down there amongst the crowd? People on their way out wave to people in the hotel, using their cell phone lights, so we had fun waving back to them. :)

We unpacked a little bit, and then went to bed - tomorrow was DisneySea!!!!

Fun with Metrics:
Steps walked: 17428 steps (6.7 miles)
Ride count: 14 (Jungle Cruise, Train, Big Thunder Mountain, Beauty and the Beast x2, Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pooh's Hunny Hunt x2, Star Tours, Monsters Inc x2, Monorail)
Shows: Mickey's Magical Music World
(free) Popcorn: 7 (curry, soy sauce butter, caramel, honey, milk chocolate, salt, black pepper)
(free) Drinks: 7 (2 milks, orange soda, tropical drinks x2, golden cider, berry cheer)

amount of people, the hotel selected, etc. With our package, staying at a harbor view at Hotel Miracosta, it was a (kind of exorbitant) 316,000 yen.
The current cost at WDW for a
Premier LL is $399 at the MK and $289 for DHS.

The Japan vacation packages make sense if you put that kind of value on FP.

Not me looking up the price of flights to Tokyo after reading this... :rolleyes1 Seriously, I never realized I needed to visit Tokyo Disney until now. Thank you for sharing all this and especially for all the pictures!

Oooh you need to go! I want to read your trip report!!

The Disney Premier can be used once per attraction. I think Japan is unlimited.

All of the blogs suggest being on line at 6a.

I booked VP (September) as an alternative. Popcorn is not an option. Frozen dessert instead
If you do the unlimited one, it is actually unlimited (like we went on Pooh twice in a row, etc). I don't want to contradict the blogs but I booked our package maybe 6 weeks out? I didn't do the whole "be online at 6am" thing.

Sorry I wasn't clear. The 6a suggestion is if YOU DON'T have a VP and want to see almost everything in a day.

Oceano Breakfast - Monday May 26, 2025 (part 1)

Today was our DisneySea day! (well, our first DisneySea day :) ). Unfortunately we were switching rooms again - still at MiraCosta, but no longer a harbor view (I did try and get a harbor view but those rooms never popped up as I was checking).
IMG_9248.JPG
IMG_9249.JPG
Such a gorgeous view!

We got up around 6:30 to pack up cause at 7:40 we had breakfast at Oceano included as part of the vacation package and I wanted to make sure we had enough time. We had opened the window (the little crack that it opened :) ) as soon as we got up but it was too early for the music loop. Right at 7 am though, the music loop came on! :)

We had fun watching the workers in the park - we saw folks on a bike and at one point we saw a wedding party!
IMG_9255.JPG
Or what looked like a wedding party.

We ended up being ready to go at like 7:15, so we could have slept in a bit more. Oh well! Even with all my planning I make missteps all the time - like last night coming back and seeing the room I was like "man we should have come to the room in time to see the DisneySea nighttime show from our room!" Oh well. At least we got to wave to folks leaving! And our next room was still going to be here in MiraCosta - just a piazza view instead of a harbor view.

Anyways, at about 7:15 we were ready to go, so I did the checkout on the TV and the luggage moving request. I know I said it before but I'm gonna say it again - being able to just leave the bags in the room and have them show up in the next room was absolutely a gamechanger. It made changing rooms suuuuuuuuper easy and way less stressful than I was expecting. So nice!

Despite our reservation not being til 7:40, since we were ready we headed downstairs at 7:25. We checked in and were waiting:
IMG_9259.JPG
Breakfast looked busy so I wasn't really surprised when they called us back at 7:37 - 3 minutes early. :)

We got seated right at a window, which was nice, but food! They had a good selection, of both western breakfast food and more typical Japanese fare.
IMG_9262.JPG
The eggs were a bit runny (and don't judge me, yes I put syrup on my scrambled eggs), and the bacon was...more like Canadian bacon vs American bacon.
IMG_9263.JPG
Lots of yummy pastries, but also carmelized bananas and egg rolls! I discovered I like egg rolls for breakfast. :)
IMG_9264.JPG
a little passionfruit bread pudding thing.

Trevor got a couple other interesting things:
PXL_20250525_224557425.jpg
Some fish, and that sausage that I was not willing to try at all. :)

Overall a pretty good breakfast! Lots of selection and good food. And we had a lovely seat at the window:
IMG_9265.JPG
And yes, Trevor did bring his Baymax with him to see DisneySea today. :)

We finished at about 8:10 (yes we're fast eaters, what can I say), and made our way down to the park entrance area. We had Happy Entry, and it was SUPER smooth to go through security and get right to the ticket booths to wait. There were definitely lines already for the general entrance but with the way the set up here worked, they were behind security and so we didn't really see them at all once we got through security.
IMG_9275.JPG
This was the line at 8:15. Not too bad!
