Well, I ended up buying this set and my wash machine keeps giving me errors (2 errors out of maybe 15 loads) and I have to turn it off and back on, set it to rinse and spin so that it will finish the cycle. Is anybody else who bought this set having any problems?

I'm trying to decide between two models at Best buy.

This expensive 12 cycle LG steam unit

or

This cheaper 7 cycle LG unit

Are 5 more cycles and steam really worth the extra $200 (plus $200 extra for the upgraded dryer). I wash about 3-4 loads of laundry a week (except when DD18 brings down her 6 loads about once every month or so):)

UPDATE:

Now I'm considering this Lowes special....Anyone have any experience with this set?

How many cycles are on the washer you have been using? It wouldn't be worth it to me, but if you use lots of cycles on your current washer or find yourself thinking "I wish my washer could do...", then it might be worth it.
I don't use more than 3.

My current washer is a Kenmore top loader craigslist special, I think it has 4 or 5 cycles. I only use about 3 too.

Adding another one for your consideration.

These will be on sale tomorrow for $499 (normally $999) for the white and $599 (normally $1099) for Stainless with Steam cycles. I was able to purchase them monday and having them delivered tomorrow morning:

Great ratings......

One more thing - we used a 10% off movers coupon from the post office, so we paid $539 for each Stainless piece......

I just bought the 3.9 size about a month ago. I love it.

Word of warning, I love the sanitize cycle. Resist the urge to wash shoes in that cycle though, it eats them. They do come out clean though.

Three boys, end of football season (for one, my middle boy, his HS team is playing for semi-state on Friday  ) and summer. I washed a bunch of shoes all at once to put up for the end of the year. Add to that, the youngest, his shoes smell like cat pee. I don't know what he does, but they smell so nasty. I saw how good that cycle did on the sheets my brother in law sleeps in (works in the body shop of a dealership, I swear he sweats dust) and thought that would be the ticket for the shoes. They do look and smell great, just some of them are missing the bottoms now. (Shoe Goo fixed them though.)

Thanks for the warning!!! DH cannot wait to wash our blanket tomorrow in the new set.......(yes he does the laundry - I don't do it right - darn :rolleyes1...)

I have this in red, and LOVE them.

I have the first one you posted and I highly recommend it. I researched the heck out of washers and dryers about two months ago and the first one kept coming to the top of the list for a variety of reasons. It consistently gets very high reviews across multiple sites on the Internet whereas the second one does not.

Something to consider.
I have the lower model LG. Just be aware that you must leave the door ajar and wipe out the seal after washing to prevent musty smell and mold on front loader washers. I have a small area for my washer and didn't realize this. My brother has the same washer and has small children so he doesn't leave his open, so his washer STINKS. Just something to consider. I wish I knew and I would have purchased a top loader. Also, if you like to presoak. You really can't in these washers. I had to buy a bucket so I could soak my son's baseball pants.

I was wanting a front loader and was heading to Lowe's to get it. It was exactly what I wanted-I was sure! Until I saw it. It was so short that I either had to sit on the floor to do laundry or pay $200 for the pedestal to put it on. I had dragged DH all the way over there (abt 35 miles) to get me this certain washer but then didn't want it! He was looking at washers and found a glass top Maytag Bravo XL top loader that was so huge and didn't have an agitator. It was a little more than the front loader (on sale for $719 for the top loader) and it was way more awesome than the front loader that only came to my waist. I've had it now for about 2 1/2 weeks and it is AWESOME!!

I just bought the first one at best buy last week for 594 each. They haven't been delivered yet tho.

I had to buy a new washer a couple months ago and was looking very seriously at the Samsung front loads. But I've had so many friends say that you have to take the wash out immediately or the clothes stink and also how important it was to leave the door open. I knew that wasn't going to work for me, as I'm notorious for forgetting about the wash until the next morning. Anyhow, I decided on the GE Harmony top-load HE washer and I L-O-V-E it! No agitator, so it's the same idea as the front load. It's huge and I like it that I don't have to bend over to reach into the unit. I'm tall and like reaching down like I did with my old style top-load. Oh, and I also like the fact that if I forget a last minute item after I've started a cycle, I can pause the cycle to unlock the door...something I would not be able to do with a front load.

I just bought the second one in May this year from Home Depot online (at least it is very similar-I have the WM2140CW). I paid 661.48 delivered. I like it and don't need anything more.

Ours from lowe's were delivered this morning and DH has our king size blankets washed and dried - they came out great! He has done a ton of wash today. So quiet, so little water used and the clothes are so clean and smell great.
