What do you mean are they like iron? They don't taste the best if that is what you mean, but they don't have any side effects on your system if that is what you mean. They strengthen and help your hair. You have nothing to lose by buying these. If you don't want to buy them on the website then go to walmart and buy something similar. Just print out the description from the website and match up the vitamin. It really does work.

wilderness01 - Oh, no. I'm sorry. I meant do the hair vitamins have iron in them? I've also had a couple people recommend I try iron, too. So I was just curious if the hair vitamins were similar. Buying vitamins always confuses me. I hope I didn't offend you??? Does iron have side effects? Really i don't know all these things.
I'm also a procrastinator, too BTW.

The iron has not helped me and constipates me so I take it with fiber con.

I am afraid to take too many vitamins, as I have heard too much can CAUSE hair loss.

Hi Shan,

No you weren't offensive. Yes there is some iron in the hair vitamins but only 15 mg which isn't even 100% of the iron you should take a day. Check with your dr. if you aren't sure of the amounts of vitamins you should take daily. Yes some vitamins in excess (the fat soluble vitamins in particular, ADEK) are harmful so if you are concerned print out the description and bring it into the Dr. so he can give you his opinion. In my opinion, which you can take or leave, I would not hold off very much longer if you have lost so much of your hair that it is physically noticeable. Good luck.
