Update on Earl of Sandwich

hahaha oh i know the name of it...i just didnt think anybody here did so i didnt bother...but since you know what im talking about....tell me that EOS holiday sandwich has anything on the bobbie...you cant can you lol

I've had both, and I'm not sure why, but I prefer the Earl holiday sandwich. I think it has to do with their bread. :confused3 They are both sooo good though!
I can't wait until October 1st when they start serving the Earl sandwich. I know I'll be heading down to Planet Hollywood to Earl's for lunch!

LOVE Earl of Sandwich at Planet Hollywood! It's one of the main reasons we stay at PH in Vegas. lol The normal sandwiches are great but we really enjoy the breakfast ones. Definitely looking forward to going to DH in December and having one right in DTD!

Since we can't feast our bellies just yet, we'll have to feast our eyes....

I give you the Earl Holiday Sandwich....yummmmmmm......:hyper:

This is BY FAR the best sandwich I've ever had! I always look forward to it every year. Sadly it only comes once a year :-( and the nearest one is 1000 miles away at Disney ;-)

We peeked through the gaps in the construction walls tonight, both inside the store and outdoor seating area currently underway. I really felt like an official Earl Stalker! :tiptoe::magnify:

I'm hopeful that it will be done by the end of this month, as some have indicated, but I just don't see how they're gonna do it. Then again, I don't know squat about construction. That said, they're still putting the flooring in on the inside, there are still wall-less walls, the ceiling doesn't seem complete (that may be on purpose as some places do), there are no counters (that we could see, at least), etc. I'm imagine those basics should be done by this point being that we're mid-way thru the month so they could start training the staff. Also, the patio area is just dirt with some structural elements in the early stages of being built. Fingers tightly crossed that I'm way off base....

As a member of the construction industry, a project seems to jump to completion very quickly. Everything dovetails together and almost overnight, something new is created from piles of raw materials.

I have never been to the Earl of Sandwich. I'm anxiously awaiting its opening so I can visit on our next trip and see if it's worth all the hype.

Earl is our FAVORITE counter service meal in WDW. We have our fingers and toes crossed that it will be open when we are in Cali next month!!

We were there on Saturday and it still looks like there's a long way to go .... perhaps the very end of October but you just never know :confused3

Love, love the Earl of Sandwich. Tried it in DTD in Orlando last year and fell utterly in love. Who knew a sandwich could bring so much happiness. We are going to Disneyland in December this year and are looking forward to stopping a few times at Earls :)

We are here now and it is soooo far from ready. Th deck area is ripped apart and has a backhoe or something in there digging holes. No more painting has been done to the outside...inside it looks like they are finishing up drywall and no flooring has been done.

I emailed Earl of Sandwich company and their answer was as follows:

-Thank you for contacting Earl of Sandwich. We are pleased to announce that our Downtown Disney, Anaheim location will be opening in early-mid October. Please check back to our website, Facebook, and Twitter for updates.

So, on Sept 10 they said late Sept, about 2-3 weeks away. Now they say early-mid Oct, about 2-3 weeks away.

Translation: No progress :teacher:

Oh man. Please let that update mean that it will be open Oct 20-23.....or my DH will be very very very sad. :worried:

Exactly...none at all! When we were the in Sunday, we peeked in the windows and the inside looks worse than the outside. Maybe we are all part of a bizarre social experiment in which consumer brand loyalty is being tested.:lmao:
