*UPDATE*Missing doll at the Beach Club

I bought myself a pair of reallllly expensive sunglasses after Christmas last year. I had a bunch of giftcards and had been eyeing them forever! I LOVED these sunglasses! They looked so cute and I felt cute wearing them. I definitely lost them at the end of the summer...in a bathroom at the baseball stadium! I set them down when I was washing my hands and by the time I realized I had forgotten them and gone back to look - they were gone!! I still haven't found another pair that looks as cute :( Good luck and let us know if you find it!

I'm so sorry! We lost DD's Care Bear back in Sept. sometime during our move from ASMu to AKL (we think we left her at ASMu in the bed under the covers). Many phone calls were made, but she never showed up. Unfortunately, we got the Care Bear at another amusement park and haven't been able to find one like it (purple with a rainbow on its chest--I've checked online everywhere I can think of!). I am getting DD a new purple Care Bear for Christmas--it has suckers on its chest. Hope she loves it. She has really missed "Rainbow Bear" a lot.

Hello Dis'ers! Well - My daughter received a package from UPS today. We were so excited when we saw the postmark was from the Beach Club lost and found. When my daughter opened up the box - there was a Disney bag, and inside were 2 Barbie type Princess dolls. They are very cute - Cinderella and Jasmine. My daughter was a little bummed - happy about the new dolls, and very greatful, but still sad about her dolly. Although there has been no sign of DeeDee - my daughter's Lost Lovey - I thought that this was a very nice gesture from the Beach Club Lost and Found.

As an aside - if any of you ever come across a Baby Gund Dotty Dolly - please let me know. I keep checking on ebay, but I haven't seen one as yet.

Thanks for all of the kind words and help!

Oh, thank you for posting this update!! I've been wondering whatever happened. I'm glad that Disney was able to pixiedust like that, so thoughtful. I'm sorry about the dolly never being found though.

rats........I too was hoping for your lovey to re appear...... Nice gesture by disney tho:lovestruc

Congrats on the new dolls and "finding" DeeDee on eBay!! Umm, I mean, DeeDee found her way home.

Wow, that was really nice of them!

Beach Club is sure a lot nicer than CBR then. My DD lost her YOMD Minnie Mouse doll either at the Custom House or on the way to the bus stop right near the Custom House. Probably at the Custom House because we were there a long time arguing with the airline reps about why the apostrophe in our last name was preventing us from using M.E. to get home.

I noticed she didn't have Minnie on the bus and got off at the next bus stop and used one of the phonoes there to call the Custom House to see if it was still there. I don't think anyone even bothered to look. We headed to MGM for our last morning and I figured I could find it in a store there, but nobody had that particular one. I knew that CBR's shop sold them, but because it's not located near the custom house, I didn't have time to stop there before we had to head home. I only had time to check with the Custom House one more time and they said sorry, nobody turned it in, and they made me fill out a lost and found card.

All I got from them was the postcard back a few weeks later saying they didn't find it. DD was so upset about her missing Minnie and it sure would have been magical if CBR sent her another one, whether they found it or not. Somebody probably picked it up and kept it. :(

Luckily we won a trip and were able to go back a couple of months later and got her another one.

YES! OMG! Thats HER! Thank you thank you thanks SO much!

Also, if you don't want to wait until this item ends on EBay, you should email the seller asking them, if they would consider adding a Buy It Now price right now to the doll. so that you can just buy it now and not have to wait for the sale to end. I have done that before on Ebay and if I was the only one that had bid on it so far, the seller had no problem doing that. Good Luck!!

That's my biggest fear with my 10 year old's (yes, 10) security baby. It goes on vacation with us and I'm always afraid it will end up in the laundry. So before we leave for the parks in the morning we always make sure it's in its daytime holding area, aka the underwear drawer! When she was younger, that was referred to as his bed for the day. I'm more concerned about that than making sure we have anything else in our bags for the day!

I'm so happy for you! Let us know when you receive her and your daughter's reaction. Also, what a nice gesture on the part of BC.
:goodvibes

My 11 year old dd has a puppy (a beanie buddy cocker spaniel) that I fear for. She has had to be without him twice (in the hospital) and it was awful. She takes him everywhere and cries every time he must be washed as we fear he will fall apart. She even put Jeffrey in the safe on our last trip, was afraid mousekeeping might steal him.

Inkspired- Glad to see you found a doll, I bought a second Jeffrey a few years back when I found one just in case.

That is a really nice gesture of magic from the Beach Club. Back in 1997 after returning from a trip to the Poly, we discovered that DS's special blankie was missing. I called Poly Lost and Found a few times that week only to be told that there was no sign of it. Then one day about 6 weeks later we got a package in the mail from the Poly: Yep, the missing blanket, much cleaner and fluffier. Where had it been all that time and how did they ever remember to send it to me because I never gave Lost and Found my name and address (they never asked)????:confused3 Needless to say, it was a very pleasant surprise.:goodvibes

I'm glad you found one on ebay! I've spent many hours searching for "My Pal Al" for DD. She latched onto DS's that he never used and it's been discontinued for years. I've purchased them a year apart from the same seller using the same picture, but whatever. :) I have several, but she's a little picky now, and they don't wash well so the current one is filthy.

This past trip we started the ritual of putting Al & a binky in the nightstand drawer so they can take a nap while we're away. DD knows it's to keep them safe. I like the carry on bag thing too.

I read somewhere of a really cute idea to help with lost loveys.. You know those dog tag makers they have all over Disney.. make a tag with your childs name, address or your cell phone number and attach it around the dolls, stuffed animals head.. that way if you lose it maybe you will get it back!

I'm so glad you found one on ebay, let us know how it goes. Last November my DD lost her Bubba (her lovey, a pink blanket w/ a bunny head) at the mall in the bathroom. We discovered he was lost only 5 minutes later and went back to the br and he was gone. Went to lost and found, no one turned him in. Gave them my number but no one ever turned him in . We were so sad.
We originally had a backup, but I lost that one the year before

She had Bubba since she was born, I bought it at Target, but of course 3 1/2 years later they were gone. So I searched and searched and searched and finally found 1 on ebay - ONE! - and it was in Canada! So I paid $30 to get the new bubba. I have since found a spare on ebay and we have 2 now.

Here's a helpful hint for lovies (just used this on our trip last week.). I made an iron-on with "My name is Bubba, someone loves me very much. If I am lost, please call xxx-xxx-xxxx." I just hope that if we do ever lose him again someone will call me if they find him.
