UPDATE Michael Jackson rushed to the hospital (He Has Died)

More than anything, I really pray for his children. TMZ is stating Debbie Rowe has no right to custody as she gave up all rights (not that I have an opinion about her) - but I do worry where they will go. I do wonder who can be trusted to have their best interests at heart.

BBC News is speculating that world leaders will release statements on his death. Do you really think they will? I realize Michael Jackson is a tremendous entertainer, one of the best ever, without question, but is this something you'd expect? It strikes me as a bit odd. I can see President Obama saying something but not "world leaders" in general.

(I'm young, and don't think I've lived through an entertainer's death like this before - John Lennon springs to mind but that was well before my birth!)

Anyway, I am still in shock. I went to UCLA and keep watching the footage on TV - I lived 5 minutes from where everyone is standing.

I was alive for Elvis...I wasn't really all that moved by it because I was never a big Elvis fan. Liked his music, liked his movies..but I was young and it was kinda like "wow" but that's it.

John Lennon was horrible..he was senselessly murdered and was such a musical icon to me...grew up with the Beatles and love them still today.

Michael also is very sad...almost the same age as me, I loved the Jackson Five, I remember buying the 45's of their songs and playing them over and over. To me this is just like a bit of my childhood ending all over again if that makes sense.

I don't know how old you are but I am 31 so I knew and loved Michael when he was totally in his prime and that was for many years. His tours were Worldwide and his music was untouchable.

He traveled the world and loved his fans, if you can see MTV they are playing them right now including Concert Footage. It's amazing to see the people and I mean men and women crying when they saw him. I unfortunately never got to see him in concert.

It doesn't surprise me that they are upset about this, his music was known and loved World wide.

I am numb and still in shock.

I don't think there is a lot of $$$ left. I thought he was pretty much bankrupt. Of course his death could bring in a surge of music sales and maybe an increase in royalty checks.

Do you think those families are so hurt that they would have no compassion for his children or his family? After all, if any crimes were committed, they were committed by MJ - not his children, not his mother, etc..

Sure, but this thread isnt about his kids or a thread to give your respects to his family. Its about the death of Michael jackson and people feel differently and are expressing that. If this thread was called..Pay your respects to MJ;s family, I get it.

You all have to admit that Michael Jackson became a freak as an adult. I found that very sad. I'm sure he had a lot of problems. I feel bad for his children.

I'm so home-sick now. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and seeing UCLA medical center and all of the channels that I used to watch (KCAL, KCBS, etc) on CNN is making me miss home.

This is absolutely shocking. I pray for his family and friends, especially his kids. I too wonder where they will go because as it seemed he was all they had. Hopefully they go the most loving and understanding people to get through this difficult time. Truly shocking and sad.

Please, keep his controversial actions out of this thread. That is not what this is for. We should be mourning his death and remembering the triumphs of his life. I find it amazing that people are only thinking about his leagel troubles. His live was so much more than that. Please respect the deceased.

freddie who?

How dare you not know about Freddie Mercury? He was one of the best!

I was very sad when Freddie died. I cried. I sit here stunned about MJ, but not broken up. He was a star, a huge star and so many things happened which made him only a fraction of what he was before. Of course many factors changed him-- he was only a fraction of what he was before.

There is no denying how much money he made. I remember watching Thriller video so much in 7th grade -- I like many had it memorized.

In my early teens and through my teens, I was a huge James Brown fan. I wore out 3 LPs of James Brown, Live at the Apollo. Michael Jackson picked up from there.

ETonline has the last photo of MJ on their website....I won't post it because not everyone will want to see it....But it is there if anyone wants to see it...

Of course I feel for his children and family and I never alluded that I felt differently.
I thinks its horrible that you are so quick to call someone who was molested a liar in it for money- did you even think perhaps this child and his family wasn't emotionally able to go through the drama of a very PUBLIC and humiliating trial and that is why he settled?
I don't agree with the glorification of someone who admitted to providing alcohol to minors and putting them in compromising positions

Can you please take it to another thread.

Watching the Bad video on MTV right now. I haven't seen it in years. It is really amazing to see how vibrant and healthy he looks back then compared to the last 10-15 years. Seeing the more current photos you can see how frail and sickly he was looking. Legit medical problems, emotionial issues or drug problems, it is very sad to see.

I never was able to fully form an opinion on the child molestation charges, but I do think that was really the end for him. He never really recovered and his weird factor just went way off the charts after that. Yes, he was strange before but that just seemed to send him completely off his rocker.

Very sad news.

RIP Michael Jackson. Thanks for the music and dance....loved it!

Sorry, but that should not be brought up at this time. He has not even been dead for 2 hours, and that is all you are thinking about. If that is your idea of his entire life, fine, but please take your negative outlook else where, not here where people are mourning his death. This is not glorifying him, it's mourning him, there is a difference.

Please talk your negativity elsewhere.

I would say it is more shocking then sad.
The first concert I evwe went to was the MJ victory tour. I remembwr him bwing more famous then Elvis.
