Rainbow Bridge​

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thank you. Poor Eowyn has been walking around the house like she is looking for him. She is not an unfriendly cat, but is not overly prone to affection either. The last couple of days she has been much more affectionate and clingy. I think she misses him a lot.

I'm so sorry. My 16yo sweetie-pie, Herman, died almost two months ago, and I still miss his soooo much. He was like my baby, followed me everywhere, and was my special little guy. He too was adopted by me after he followed me home one day when I was out walking with a friend.

Our other cat, Kitty Boo, who is 8yo, was not an especially affectionate cat, kind of aloof and distant. Ever since Herman died, Kitty is acting like he is Herman reincarnated. It is so weird. He constantly wants to sit in my lap and be petted. I'm sure the loss of his buddy has affected him, but I'm just surprised at how much.

I am so sorry to hear that your sweet baby passed.... I know how hard it is to go through the passing of a pet.... my sweet Nala passed last year and it was so hard on me and her sister (Alexis)... we both grieved together and we are lost without her... but now it has been over a year and we are both getting better... I had Nala cremated and she now sit in the living room in the urn that I made for her... I remember one night I laid down in the spot that she always was in and cried my eyes out so hard... I agree with waiting until you are unpacked until you bring a new kitty into your life... take care...
