Hi there,

I'm just back from Jersey Week and wanted to report the changes I experienced with Jedi Training. Jedi Training was the one thing I was stressed out about because it was an absolute must-do for us. We anticipated waiting in line for a long while until an opening came up in the later shows.

I couldn't tell you how pleased I was to find out that when we arrived at the staging area, that the lovely cast member told us that from now on (it was actually the third day they had done sign ups this way!) children would be signed up to fill in the shows on a first come first serve basis and the children need not wait in line and devote the day to this- we were given a return time and card. Loved this!

I know some of you, especially during SWW, experienced Jedi Training this way. But others, experienced waiting in line all day for their time to come up. I think this is an awesome solution to the confusion of the sign ups!

My son and daughter were in the 10:50 show and by the way, we signed up to do this on an EMH morning. So, before 9:00, we rode TSMM, had fast passes in hand, and were signed up for Jedi Training to return at 10:20 for the 10:50 show. The day couldn't have been better! Hope this helps anyone who has this on their list!

HTH,
Christine

This sounds like such a smart way to do it. I hope we can get another trip in before my son is too old for it. He's been wanting to do this since it first started and never had the chance.

Absolutely smart! The CM there said they had sooo many complaints before and they were getting a lot of positive feedback about their new system! LOVE it!

This makes me so very happy. Maybe DS might finally get to do this in March. Poor kid, he's been trying to get picked for years now. No kidding the first time he wanted to do this he was only 4 years old, he'll be turning 9 on our March trip and he's still never been picked and we've tried for this dozens of times. On our most recent trips he's just wanted to avoid that whole area altogther. We've tried everything, from being the loud crazy parent's holding him up saying "pick him, pick him", to the quiet family just hoping to get picked, he's worn a yoda shirt that says "judge me by my size do you", to wearing his full on jedi costume. We've tried it all. Maybe he'll be lucky enough to get a spot in March, that is if he's still interested. Hahaha.

We just did this yesterday and it worked great, however, remember you must have your children with you to sign up, some in line did not and were not happy

What time do they start the sign ups - right at opening? Thank you for posting - this helps me to make our plans for the day.

It seems so, yes. We did this on an EMH morning and we did not go straight there at 8:00 because we were running with the bulls to TSM. As soon as we got over to Jedi Training, at almost 9:00 am, we signed up. There were people who signed up before us because we were in the 2nd show.

HTH,

Also, the CM has a stack of all different color cards for the different shows throughout the day. When we came back for our show at 10:50, I could hear the CM talking- kids were still able to sign up, it wasn't filled up yet for the day. She was handing out cards for the 1:30ish show.

Hummmm...even more to think about! Thank you for posting all this information. I would be so lost without my Dis :)

Wonderful news. My son really wants to do it, and I was starting to expect we would have to skip it. We are going on an EMH morning, and waiting in line for 2 hours in unacceptable to me.

So if anyone knows yet... on an EMH morning, what time do they start taking sign ups?
Wondering whether we should do TSM first....
Or split up, between fast passes for TSM and signing up for Jedi.

Agreed!! Excellent improvement! :cool1: We were in the first group when we did this in April but having to stand in the line, in the full sun started wearing on my DS that he almost wanted out of line and was almost willing to give up the experience. We shaded each other and hung in there and of course it was a highlight for him. I love the idea of handing out the cards!!

I am so happy! My boys waited on the line when we were there in August, and sitting on the line staring at the stage for nearly an hour ended up giving my 4 year old time to psyche himself out of wanting to participate. The longer he stood there, staring at the stage with nothing to do but worry, the more nervous he made himself (when he had absolutely no nerves about it when he joined the line n the first place).

This will be perfect!

We were there the 31st and ran to get in line on opening. Fortunately we made the 1st showing (definitely worth it a highlight of our trip!) They must have implemented the new system afterward (Nov.)

Thanks so much for that info. We will be there next week and my son will just love this. Where do you sign up? Is it clearly marked?

Yes, we were there on the 6th of November and the CM said it was the 3rd day they had handed out the tickets that way.
