i just noticed that you're going to bed at 9:00. i WISH i could go to bed at 9:00!!!! maybe when i have two kids and one on the way.

I hope you have a safe, magical, enjoyable, awesome, fun-filled trip. Even though you probably won't read this until you get back, it should be telepathic ;)

Getting ready!

Sorry! I am beyond exhausted. We had family in town today and went to Kings Island for a bit. I will get an update tomorrow... DH is going out of town overnight, which leaves me to DIS when the girls go to bed... and they are worn out. I will upload pictures tomorrow....

And start at the beginning- our early morning wake up and reveal of the trip to Hannah --let's say she is like her mother, not the morning delight!

I'm laughing already!
Let's just say it was funny... but I don't want to relive it again!

Just found your TR via Punkin's. Can't wait to read all about it! :goodvibes

Day 1- Friday, June 6th!

It finally arrived after a restless night of sleep! WDW!!!

I tried to get the girls to bed early but it was probably 10ish until Hannah finally fell asleep and we could drag our bags out to the van. We were all set except for a handful of last minute items. Too excited to sleep, so it was probably midnight until I finally fell asleep.... waking up numerous times to check the clock and go to the bathroom. Finally about 4:45 off the alarm clock went, so I showered and got ready woke DH and then we got ready to get the girls up.

As we woke Hannah I could tell it was going to be hard. She was still asleep. Emily was quick to arise and get into her dress and brush her teeth. Remember... this girl knew she was going to WDW!!!!!

Hannah on the other hand.... we told her we had a big surprise and that we needed to hurry because we were going to WDW today! She started crying.... thinking it was maybe a dream/ or a bad joke. Still not sure which one. In fact she was pretty hysterical... it took her about 15 minutes to believe that we were going, like in the car, seeing the bags.

Along the way she had known that dh had the day off... she thought we were going to a local inflatable place to play... so she did not understand that it was a coverup!

So needless to say the suprise produced a rather cruddy reaction....no pictures or video to want to share believe me. I looking back would have told her the day before... she slept horribly that night anyway and would have been super excited and happy, rather than tired and confused. Also she would have so loved to plan, count down and dream Disney dreams with me! I learned!

We were on our way to the airport... it was quiet there and had no problem checking in. We were on a flight full of travelers with their young kids to WDW. A great family was behind us who shared toys with Em!

Hannah was spectacular... loved my Disney tunes on the IPOD and colored.

A quick flight, no problems and a quick arrival at Orlando. Off to the Magical Express check in and DH was done checking us in by the time I went to the restroom with Hannah and myself.....we then walked right on a bus and left within ten minutes headed to WDW, first to Saratoga Springs then Key West then finally French Quarter.

Upon arrival at French Quarter at 11ish I went to check us in... and our room was ready! This was thrilling to me because I knew we were super lucky... we could get our suits on and then crash when needed!

5244- building 5, second floor, courtyard view. The building 5 was directly across from the pool and diagnal from the food court, a prime location. I did enquire if there was a first floor room ready, which there was not so we decided the location was great and we would deal with the stroller and the second floor..... we quickly changed in the swimsuits and hit the pool by 11:30!

The pool was a huge hit... BOTH girls loved the slide. Honestly I bet Hannah rode it over 100 times, and Emily 50. She had no fear, and got good enough that she could go up with Hannah and then Hannah could send her down to us. It was a great slide for the little kids, I was so glad they both had so much fun!

We swam about an hour, went up to the room and our bags arrived! Then off to the food court. We split a Philly cheese steak sandwich and nuggets since we knew we had a big dinner ahead at Chef Mickey's!

Then DH went to unpack and back to the pool we went until around 3:30. I said we needed to have naps, everyone to make sure we were decent for dinner..... We had 7:55 reservations and I wanted to leave at 6:15 to get to the Contemporary early... hoping to eat earlier!

Luckily....

They were both exhausted and fell asleep to the WDW tv station... as did dh and myself! How would we all wake up????? Grumpy or ready to go meet our friend, Mickey Mouse? And would we have our first magical moment?

great start!! I love how you told the story along with the pictures and they are great!

our first 4x on property was at POfq..you can say it became our first WDW home and like your DDs my brother and I rode that slide over and over and over again. I always said how the pool was so big...now my dad tells me the pool really isnt that big, I was just really young..not such a magical moment dad!!!!

For your older DD it will be great for her to have memories there. My first real WDW memories were at that resort and I can remember the pool and I always had to stop at the gift shop when we checked in. Every night my dad and I would walk to the food court and he would get me a little milk and a cookie and eat our cookies and drink our milk by the pool...wow, where have the years gone!!

Sorry for the long post..I'm just excited for your TR and can't wait to read more!

yay!!!!!!! you've begun!

so funny about hannah and the surprise. you just never know with kids! it's like luke on my TR.....disney world's not a surprise!!!!

what a great, non-stressful arrival day! :thumbsup2 can't wait to hear about chef mickey's.

Yippee!! Reading your 1st day's report has made my night. The girls are so cute!! :wizard:

Hooray....you started your trippie! Its like when a favorite author publishes a new book! I always wondered if I should "suprise" the kids with a trip.....but you're right, they love the countdown so much, that I think it adds so much more to the trip. So no suprises for us either! Plus, don't think I could pull it off with 10 year old ds!
