Say a few prayers and keep your fingers crossed! Here's hoping NO more hurricanes hit ANY part of the US this year. I would check the national weather radar several times a day. Good luck, and hope you have a wonderful trip.
[EDIT: You will see news media reports describing Ophelia as a tropical storm, but the 5 PM advisory has again raised her to Hurricane Ophelia.]
You might want to check www.nhc.noaa.gov occasionally, but as of the 5 PM Friday advisory, Vero looks clear from Ophelia.
I say "looks clear" because the storm has very weak steering currents and when they are like that, anything can happen.
However, all of the computer models are in some agreement and they show the storm moving NE, stopping, and then moving W to NW, impacting the US coast somewhere between Jacksonville and the Outer Banks of NC.
I wouldn't worry much at Vero or WDW (although I'd certainly keep my eyes open) but I would CERTAINLY be paying very close attention if I were at or en route to Hilton Head. HHI is right in the middle of the computer models at this time, and just about the exact bullseye of the 3-day cone for a Monday afternoon/evening landfall.
