Oh and the moderates also have a refrigerator. You have to pay extra for a fridge at the values, plus they are really small. However, having said that, my all time number of people in a value room was 8! It was my sister and I and 6 kids!:rotfl: But seriously, even with 4 people in the value room you will be falling all over each other.

Also the moderate has 2 sinks outside the toilet/shower area, plus a curtain that pulls across for an extra dressing area. Well worth the extra money in my opinion.

But if you're looking for a deal don't forget that you are a Best Western employee.

Sorry, Lynn, I've never been so got nothing for ya. :confused3

Hi, Tinkermell!

:lmao: how could I forget....

I appreciate all your info...but you know how all of us are on here...we research everything till the death:rotfl2: :rotfl2: so I do know about all that..we are looking into booking the suite at POP ...Im going to try that one first...Alison, do you know when the rates for 09 will be out??? I want to book straight away and then if we get a code I can call and have them add it to our reservation...

just for kicks alison....do you know which are the employee hotels? and about what it might cost per night?

I like Rick Steves...in fact I used him when i was researching my London trip

yeah i should have notated that.....the AB rooms look like something out of the slaves quarters and I dont want to pay $195 a night to be a slave...all we need is chains and chickens running around out front

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: It is a beautiful property. The kids will love the pool, lovely lush landscaping and walking pathes. Yes, the rooms are a bit dark, but they are nice. I think they look dark partly because they used such dark colors in them. We had a room with our own quiet pool out front and very close to an extremely uncrowded bus stop. So far I've stayed at the Pop Century, Port Orleans Riverside, Carribean Beach Resort (rooms almost identical to POR), offsite I've stayed at the Nickelodeon Holiday Inn (spendy, kids LOVE it, AWESOME pools, kids programs, but separate bedrooms, bunk beds for kids); Universal Studios Lowes Royal Pacific.

My favorite ones so far are the Port Orleans Riverside and Carribean Beach Resort. The moderates are nice and at least in my opinion worth it for the extra room, changing area, double sinks and fridge. Not to mention the grounds are AWESOME.

Not sure when the rates come out? I haven't even made my ressies yet for this September.

When are you going again? Most of the Best Western's load 12 months of rates in advance, so 1 year out. I can call BW when I get back to work next week, use the same dates for this year and inquire. It all depends on how busy they are. I've seem some give employee rates as low as $39 a night and some that don't give them at all. It is up to each hotel owner to offer the rate or not. Most do, because then they know that other hotel employees will send guests their way. We go to one on the Oregon Coast all the time that is really nice, near the Oregon Coast Aquarium and gives us $39 parking lot or $59 ocean view rooms. All I can do is call and ask.

Alison, is that one in Newport?

i think POR does look beautiful but I just dont want to stay in AB...one thing you are forgetting...Andrea and I come from warmer climate than your used to so like we dont go swimming until its like in the 90's outside and even then I dont stay in long ...during the time we are going, we wont be swimming...I doubt I will even swim on the boat...I have heard numerous times the water at Castaway Cay is not warm at all during that time of year...so more than likely the only swimming I will be doing is to go underwater and have my pic taken with the mickey statue

Orlando has gazillions of hotel rooms, way too much supply. So if you don't care a lot about location you can get some good deals. There are tons of nice $59 rooms out there. Go to Hotels.com and look for your dates and see what they have. We got a room from them once for $49 at a brand new Best Western. It was located in a business park area, away from the main drag. But we didn't care we were just sleeping there and spending all our time at the parks. I do like to stay onsite when going to Disney just because of the transportation. We HATE driving around WDW & Orlando.

You know I remember my sister talking about a hotel that is actually on Disney property, but is a non-Disney hotel. She's stayed there before and their rates were pretty good. No Disney transportation, but she said their shuttles were pretty good.

Shuttles can be another problem. All of the hotels say they have shuttles, but it can be very limited. Ask for their schedule before you stay. It's nothing like Anaheim.

::yes::

Especially in Oregon, they have that powdery sand like CA beaches. The sand in WA is more gritty, and usually butt-freezin' cold weather, too.

DH's mom and stepdad live down the Oregon Coast, and have been making noises about visiting or us visiting them. If we did we probably woudln't stay with them because of the kids, but we probably should visit. They've never met DS3, and met DS7 only once.

We like to go in the winter.. Its all cold and blustery. Geesh, we havent been in a long time.

It's the one as you are pulling into Newport, used to be the Agate Beach Hilton. Walmart is located right behind it. Has a nice beach you can walk to, sort of on the side of a hill, I think it's 4 - 5 stories high. PM me if you want more info.

yeah nah we dont want to really stay off property...we have alot of luggage we will have to have moved and my scooter cant be transported all over the place so its just better to stay onsite...but we are going thanksgiving weekend

I'm headed off to bed now. But if any of you Hyena BW employees ever need assistance just let me know.:)

Well my one really big experience was the French Quarters, and we loved it.

Beautiful, and not sooooooo big to get around.

But they don't do 5 in a room there. So why did I even say anything? :lmao:

I guess because that was my one and only experience there.:snooty:

I love this................we have two totally different conversations going on here. :rotfl:

We met several years ago in Newport for lunch; we were staying further up the coast and they lived south of there. But I think they're living in Lincoln City now, I'm not sure. That's north of Newport?

I loved Canon Beach. I was thinking Lincoln City is where we stayed that trip... about 2 hours north of Newport.
