Looks like it will be cold, but sunny.. Perfect for hitting the park. I will walk my tushy off while the youngens get some play time in!

What??? Can't find a non-stop flight to send them clear to the other side of the country for a week?? Coop left for camping with his cousins this afternoon so I am officially kidless!

I wish! :lmao: :lmao:

To be honest, it was fine until DH got home. They followed him upstairs while he changed his clothes, then when they all came back, they were WILD! :scared1:

Seriously? It was HAILING right around 5:00 this afternoon. Started out as little bitty beads, then got a thicker shower, then they get wetter (splatted as they hit), then got hard again and HUGE!

It's been overcast since then, so I wasn't holding out a lot of hope for tomorrow.

DH got the kids all riled up, then went for his walk. :sad2:

They came running into the room, crashing into pieces of furniture (on purpose) and running in circles, so I shouted to DS7 that he could either stop and settle down or go to his room, his choice. After a few more crashes ( ) he lay down on the couch, and now they're both calmed down and watching Dirty Jobs. ;)

ok im SERIOUSLY frustrated right now....

you know how at DL and everywhere in CA for that matter, allows 5 people to a room at hotels??? well FL is very different ...almost ALL the hotels off property or not allows maximum of 4 and one child UNDER the age of 3 sleeping in a pack and play...we are going to be staying for 7 nights at the boardwalk villas but we want to go down for 2 days beforehand and stay in a value resort...the only options for us is staying at either all stars music or POP century in a family suite for $240, getting 2 rooms for same amount give or take a few $$ or stay offsite...I told Andrea sure np we can stay offsite but I forgot 2 things....1. my scooter...2. moving to boardwalk

im gonna pull my hair out...the reason the cost is so much is because it will be the friday and sat. AFTER thanksgiving:headache:

To be honest not much different than when they are here. I guess it gets that way as they get older. Seems like you're always so tired when they are little. But then they start getting older and you start wondering what you're going to do.

Our house is pretty quiet anyways. DS is always out playing with his cousins when the weather is nice or inside with us trying to remove him from the latest video game if it's raining! DD always seems to be busy with friends, doing homework, getting ready for races, etc...

Yep. We got the hail this morning, dh noticed it and said he was glad we had decided to just hang around the house today. but the weather channel is predicting sunny cold tomorrow.

Good night, Alison. I hope you get lots of restful sleep tonight. :cloud9:

Ok I need some advice,

has anyone been to ITALY?

At dinner tonight we are going to tell my mom that we are surprising her with a trip to Italy just her and I for the fall of 2009. Yep, I know its not really a surprise but I wanted to let her plan the whole thing because its her trip. She wants to see the countryside and the vineyards of Tuscany and other parts I cannot remember. Me I would be in Rome and Venice studying the history but there is history in the coutryside right???!

Anyway her lifelong goal has been to go to Italy and she has traveled all over the world and all over Europe but never Italy for some reason. With her arthritis so bad she does not want to go on a tour because she cannot keep up. She has her ankles fused so she has been told she is going to have a very hard time walking on the cobble stone streets because they are uneven and she doesnt want to go with any of her girlfriends because she said she would feel bad because she goes so slow.

She asked me 3 years ago if I would go with her and I said no because I had small kids. Well they are still small but a little larger now not so babyish and will be in school full day then so dh can work half days when I'm gone. She asked my aunt last year but she said she just wanted to get away with her husband so my mom has given up all hope of going.

Dh proposed this so that I can take care of her while she is there, help her up and down off of curbs and hold her hand while she walks the streets etc as a thank you for all she has done for us over the years.

Anyway, I want her to be able to do and dictate the vacation. This is why we are teling her so early. Plus I want us both to take Italian lessons. It should be easy for me to pick up with my french so if we do it together over the course of the next 17 months we should be doing pretty well by the time our trip comes around.

I think the harvest is in September and I'm pretty sure that is when she said she wanted to go.

I know she will say no to this initially but I think I can talk her into caving over a glass of wine!! I'm really excited. I"M GOING TO ITALY!
Well you lucky girl!!! And your Mom is very lucky too!!

Wish I could be more help, but my trip to Italy was cut off by a heart attack. :sad2: So I know nothing.

My biggest word of advice, is make sure you have all health insurance carefully taken care of. Gee I wonder why I'm telling you that?

Oh, and the very very best touring books to buy are by Rick Steves. Maybe you have heard of him? He even has some DVD's right now in Costco, and I saw one on Italy. :woohoo: Maybe you could present her with the DVD and say "Guess what Mom???" The best book by him, is called "Europe Through the Back Door. :goodvibes It has sooooooooooo much info for greenhorns about Europe. How to use the money system, how to make phone calls, what to pack, best places to see and eat. How to avoid lines and crowds, and so on. Then he has another book on art. It's for lay people like us. Well for me at least. These would all be excellent books to start her on the plans!!!!

I just know you are going to have a blast!!!:woohoo:

And I am jealous! :snooty:

Try the Port Orleans Riverside. They have the rare sought after room for 5 at a Disney moderate property. Not much more expensive than a value resort, but has an extra trundle bed and you are allowed to have 5 in a room. The rooms are in the Alligator Bayou section. Not only that if you move between Disney resorts during your stay they will move your luggage for you during the day while you are at the parks!

yeah i should have notated that.....the AB rooms look like something out of the slaves quarters and I dont want to pay $195 a night to be a slave...all we need is chains and chickens running around out front
