Alex just started his break today.. We are having lazy day today.. Tomorrow we are doing something, most likely grocery shopping.. But Wed. we are doing a bouncy place. Should be fun.. I hope!

My older sister gets the day off today because of Cesar Chavez day. It doesn't even show on my calander. Strange eh? She didn't get Good Friday off though.

Moto, I'm glad that "talking out loud" helped you figure out a few things for yourself. I hope your BF's sister leaves on a happy note tomorrow, and things get back to normal quickly for you and your BF.

Everybody who has said (essentially) that there's at least one nut in every family tree is absolutely right. Doesn't mean we have to like them or put up with all their drama, but it usually means we deal with them at least on a superficial level out of love for their family member. Hang in there. OH! And I agree with Christina, you need to give yourself some special treat for having put up with all this!

Mmmm... I love perogies.

I love peroshki (Russian?), but I'm not sure if it's the same as perogies (Polish?) Is perogie filled with mashed potatoes really?

Peroshki (or maybe it's piroshki) can have several different fillings. I had one that was basically some sort of sausage inside, and another that I think had some sort of fruit filling, like a fruit pastry.

There is/was one at Crossroads, and I think one at Bellevue Square. I used to work with a family member of the ones who ran them. In fact, she's the one that introduced me to them, she brought them in for treats one day, and I fell in love with them!

So Bernice I've been sitting here watching Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmer on the Travel Channel. He's doing a special on Minnesota. Very interesting, it looks a lot like Washington, except your water's already on the ground and ours always seems to be falling from the sky.

You didn't tell me about the meat lotteries! So have you ever won a package of meat??? I think that is such a cool idea.

Oh, Lynn. Here's my sticky rice recipe:

4 cups water
2 cups jasmine rice (or whatever rice you like)
2 teaspoons butter
1/2 - 1 teaspoon salt
Put in pan or rice cooker.
If it's not sticky enough for your liking use less water next time. Too sticky, use more water.
