oh poo.... Im sorry guys. I tried so hard to stay up, and what do I do? I pull an Alex. :rolleyes1 :lmao: I am going to head off to bed.

Well I am having the same problem, but not from the same problem. :rotfl:

Good night!!

I was totally a girlie girl. My sister was totally a tom boy. And we shared a bedroom! It was pure hell I tell you. We had bunk beds right down the middle. My bed had a Holly Hobbie bedspread, I had pretty dolls and lots of pink girly stuff on my side. Her side had football posters, junk and was a total pig sty! My mom always used to make me have the side by the door because she knew I would keep my side clean and then she didn't have to look at my sister's mess!:rotfl: Really, nothing much has changed, I'm still a neat freak. My sister had 4 boys and has a messy house!
This sounds familiar. My sister and I also shared a room with bunkbeds, and she also was a tomboy. I'll say I was neater, but not a neat freak by any stretch of the imagination. She was a total mess, though. I have two boys and not so neat a house, and she is single with no kids (but two cats), and an extremely messy house. :rotfl:

March 25th!!

That is like right around the corner. Do you have to do anything in advance like eating, storing up blood and so on???

Yes, I am allowed to eat between now and March 25th.:lmao:

Actually the only thing they recommended I do is cut out caffeine. Which I started doing last week. I'm stil having a little caffeine, but only about 1/2 a cup of coffee each day. By the time the surgery rolls around I will have cut it out alltogether. Apparently caffeine constricts the blood vessels and they want the vessels as wide open as possible for a healthy blood flow when they reattach everything.

I am having the pedicled tram flap, which is where they leave a couple of main vessels attached and then burrow up under your skin, above the ribs. So there is not much loss of blood due to leaving them attached to the main blood supply. So no blood storage required.

The only other thing they told me to do is not lose or gain any more weight, try to stay right where I'm at. I think I'm going to be in for a rude awakening after the surgery when I no longer need to gain weight. I'm really going to have to start watching what I eat and exercise a lot more.

Alison, that is funny how that worked out isnt it:rotfl2:

Yep, and I'm having a great time turning DD into a neat freak also!:rotfl: :thumbsup2

I'm off to bed too guys! Night all!

Goodnight!

Goodnight!

So am I talking to myself??

I sure probably go read a bit. I'm in the middle of a book about the Wives of Mob members and I really do want to finish it tonight. Not that it's a great book or anything, but it's kind of interesting. I got it at the Dollar Tree, so how good could it possibly be? I actually get a lot of books there, they have hardback books for $1, sometimes they are pretty good, sometimes not too good, but who cares for $1.

I was just digging through my recipe box and found my Great Grandmother's Sheet cake recipe. If she "Nannie" were still alive today, she would be over 100 years old.

Nannie's Sheet Cake
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
Sift together and set aside.

Melt in saucepan
1 stick butter
1/2 cup Crisco
4 Tablespoons cocoa
1 Cup water
Bring to a full boil. Pour over sugar, flour & salt.
Add:
2 eggs
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup buttermilk
Stir well, pour in pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

Icing
1 stick butter melted in sauce pan
4 teaspoons cocoa
6 Tablespoons milk
Bring to boil, pour over 1 box powdered sugar:scared1: . Add nuts.

I have never made this, but I can remember my great grandmother, grandmother and mother all making this recipe when I was a kid and liking it. Maybe I will try it this weekend. This just has artery clogging written all over it doesn't it. By the way, my greatgrandmother owned a cotton farm in Texas and was an excellent cook!

Cool! I have no idea what it's worth, but $128 back in your pocket seems like a pretty great thing! :)

I'm happy because there are other auctions that are not doing well and have no bids. Two people bid on mine within the last 3 minutes. I started it at $50.
