I know!!!way cool....congrats![]()
DH was watching that before he fell asleep also. I have no idea! He's been watching a lot of Sci-Fi stuff the last couple of weeks. He never watches Sci-Fi, he's more of a Clint Eastwood, John Wayne movie type of person.
They opened up 1 lane in each direction at 6pm tonight, but for commercial truck traffic only. Apparently there is still one northbound section completely flooded, so the northbound trucks have to go over on the southbound side. I guess all the truckers have to stop & talk to the state patrolmen and get direction before they will let them through. There is still a lot of debris and stuff. But I think it's good they are letting them through. I have a feeling a few more days and it would really start to impact commerce in the state. I must say though I have enjoyed commuting the past few days with hardly any semi-trucks on the road!
I know a shortcut! But they haven't advertised it. Cut off I-5 at Castle Rock, drive to Raymond, cut through Aberdeen and come out at Olympia. It's the way we go to my inlaws at the coast. The road isn't bad, but I have a feeling since it's only a 2 lane road they didn't want that much traffic on it. But it's way faster than going through Yakima!
See... I was wondering about that. I was like, that cant be the ONLY way to get south. We used to go to the ocean all the time, and I seem to remember there were lots of roads that cris crossed down there.
