Hi I'm bored, I did too many sit ups and my gut hurts now, I'm telling everyone that! weeeeeeeeeee.

My gut hurts from stealing too much of my childs candy!

I WISH my gut hurt from candy. Candy is way yummier than sit ups. Do you check your kids candy to make they aren't poisoned or do you just eat them without excuse?

Speaking of breasts. I just got the ok from my HMO to have BRCA genetic testing done. That will tell me if my genes are mutated (yeah, we already know my brain is!) and this cancer is hereditary. If so I would have a 70% chance of getting it in the other breast. So I am holding off on the reconstructive phase until I get that done and the results. If I test positive I am just going to have them remove the other one and reconstruct both of them at the same time. But hopefully they can get the testing done fairly soon. It is supposed to take about 6-8 weeks to get the results back though. So it might be late winter or early spring before I have surgery. The reason I am doing this testing is #1 so my kids will know if they have a possibility of carrying the gene and #2 because you can only do the stomach fat reconstruction surgery once. So if I need to have the other one removed, it's best to do it now.

What a great idea. I didn't know they could do such a test that's so great. Is the stomach fat breast surgery less expensive than implants? Or is it still implants plus stomach fat? I will pray for you that it isn't hereditary, but at least if it is you can be a step ahead of the cancer.

I have now had so many offers of fat that I am quite simply overwhelmed. I would have not place to store it all!

What a great idea. I didn't know they could do such a test that's so great. Is the stomach fat breast surgery less expensive than implants? Or is it still implants plus stomach fat? I will pray for you that it isn't hereditary, but at least if it is you can be a step ahead of the cancer.

Only about 15% of the people that get breast cancer have this mutated gene. But it is more common in people that get breast cancer at an early age (before 50). It is a very expensive test and insurance companies usually won't pay for it unless you meet their criteria and have already had breast cancer.

The stomach reconstruction surgery is way more expensive than implants. It runs about $30,000 per breast. But, there is a federal law that requires insurance companies to cover the cost of it if they cover the cost of mastectomy. My cost through my HMO will be $100! Same as the cost to remove it! I can't do implants because I've had radiation and my skin is damaged and won't stretch for implants, plus after radiation it causes scar tissue to grow around the implants and in about 3 years they have to be removed because of the lumpiness and pain.
