Hey spongy, this may be off topic (IS there a topic?) but i noticed the tag under a lot of posters is "DIS Vetren" when I first started I was "earning my ears" but I noticed yesterday that now I am a "Mouseketeer" Does this change from time to time or is it random. Also how can I get a different color and saying like a few of the Peepul here?

also why am I rambling on and on by typing and not drinking coffee..
also why did tell DW I would go to Trader Joes with her..
also... why did...... ARrhhhhhhhhhhhh:coffee:

Also, cant you get your tosies done at the BBB while on vacation?
ALso, which one of those girls is you in the picture?
also, a good breakfast is pop tarts and orange juice boxes...
also I want to go to DL really soon, why, because we like you, M O U S EEEEEEEE

arrrrhhhhhhh:coffee:

So many questions! :rotfl: J/k! To answer your questions, when you join the DIS you start out as "earning my ears" and then you become a mouseketeer and then after reaching a high # of posts, you become a DIS Veteran. I believe that's the highest it goes up to. :thumbsup2

The comments under our name is a wonderful gift from our beloved Tag Fairy. She's a sneaky one but if you say something humorous, she'll tag you :) Not, tag as in "ha ha you're it" but if you say something funny, you may just wake up the next day and find something you said under your screen name :) We all got tagged because of our fellow DIS hyena Matterhorn. She started a thread some time ago on how we were cooler than people who had tags. We then decided on a group name and I made a pic representing our little untagged group. :rotfl: The Tag Fairy caught on to us though....she stopped our shennanigans and gave us all tags! :rotfl2: At Christmas time she even changed all our avatar pics to a lump of coal with a ribbon around it. :teeth:

I don't know why you agreed to go to Trader Joe's with your DW, but that market is cool. I just started shopping there recently and found their prices MUCH better than Albertsons and Ralph's. They are also MUCH more affordable than Whole Foods (my sister calls it Whole Paycheck). :rolleyes1

GOOD MORNING HYENAS!

It's somewhat busy at work today, but not horrific. I'm on my break right now. Oh and I woke up this morning to the horror that I had forgotten to go to my art class yesterday. Yikes! It was supposed to be my makeup lesson for missing last week (for MHT). :sad2: I do have class this Thursday. I need to tell the teacher that I will not be continuing as of next month. My work is just getting in the way and other things too, so it just isn't going to work out.

I ordered some strawberry fruit leather online. It's the same kind they were giving out at MHT. I checked online to see where you can buy them and it said it was not available anywhere remotely close to my area. :confused3  I ordered a small box of them though. :yay: http://storesense04.dynamic.net/stretchislandfruit/Detail.bok?no=29

Grumpy Pirate- do you and your DW or DGF go to WDW and DL a lot? Any kids? pirate:

Yes, DW and I go to WDW as much as we can, we are on the "Left coast" and sometimes my work and travel cannot be resolved to let us go on vacation when we want!

We got engaged at Disnelyand. and we got married at the Poly at WDW. That was before the "magical" weddings.

AS to disneyland, we live about 91.6 miles from our front door to the Disneyland parking structure! we started buying annual passes in 2004, and then bought them for the kids and grandkids for presents. We try and go to DL at least six to eight times per year,(just DW and I) and we go with the Kids and grandkids once or twice a year. It takes the pressure off us to ride rides, so we can go with the grandkids on the "little" rides and see the parades with them! :wizard:

That's really cool :) I've been to WDW twice....can't remember the years but once when I was around 11 and another time when I was about 17 or 18 I believe (I'm 27 now). I would love to go back. It was really fun but I didn't get to ride certain rides (such as rockin roller coaster).

That's cool that you were married at the Polynesian. :) I saw those magical weddings on the Food Network last year. They showed various weddings and mentioned the prices :faint:

I've been buying AP's since I was in high school. I started with the Deluxe and then just a few years ago I started buying the Premium. I just wish they wouldn't raise the prices so much! I can't imagine paying $400-500 for an AP!! :scared1:

I live about an hour to an hour and a half away from DL (depending on the traffic gods of the 5fwy). ;)

We try and hit I-5 northbound after 10 A.M., so a lot of the traffice rush is gone, but still are in heavy traffic from just north of San Clemente to DL
The best time I ever made was and hour and a half, the worst was over two and a half (accident blocking the lane, of course)

I know what you mean about prices..When we first bought the AP's they had a "southern California" special and I got DW and mine for I think $98 each, that was just the basic. the next year for renewal they offerred an "upgrade" to the next level "delux?" for I think an extra $10. (the Mouse is a GOOD salesman!) and so on. But we figure if we go to either DL or DCA more that three days, we paid for them and the rest of the visits are free! (except DW always likes to go shopping!)

As to WDW, we actually created a savings fund at the Credit union for our WDW vacation expenses!

Being 27, (not that age matters) you could enroll in a college, if you are not already, and sign up for the WDW College program. I met a LOT of the students. Some of the students were there even though their college did not give them internship credit. One of the students even talked about a retired guy in his sixties, that signed up for college classes, and went to WDW as an intern! (no age restrictions) Of course, your work may have something to say about that...;)

That's a good idea creating a savings fund for WDW. :thumbsup2 I've heard about the college programs....I think DL has one doesn't it? :confused3

My sister's friend worked at WDW (computers). He and his wife lived in FL for a few years. Then he got hired to work onboard for the Disney Cruise Line. He recently quit and they moved out of the country. He misses working for Disney and he was saying how different the work force is there compared to here in the US. He said at his new job they hire based on looks and not skills and performance. Whereas here, you are hired based on your knowledge and skills.

Hi Grumpy Pirate again!

It's nice to have another grandparent here. So far, I've been the oldest one on this chat site. Woo Hoo! I'm 51, and have 2 grandsons. My oldest son is 28and married. My next son is 26, married and has the 2 children. My next daughter is 24, and she just got married last May. And my last one is only 13. We decided to have another one way later. (Yes she was planned!) :cloud9: She's alot of fun, and blessing to us everyday. She is also the one that gets to tag along with us to DL still. We always let her bring a friend. Although I think this Feb if DL comes out with good AP rates again, me and DH might go it alone for the first time. We do alot of weekends away with each other, but have never done DL. I just have to talk him into it. He's not quite the fan that I am. :sad2:
We live in Tulare, California. Which about a 3 1/2 drive to DL over the Grapevine.

Anyways, nice to meet you! :goodvibes

And to everyone else............
Good Mid Morning to you!!!!

I'm about an hour and a half away from Disneyland. But with the way DBF drives we can make it in an hour. :scared1:

Im baaackkkkk!!!

We rolled into town at about 2am. had a BLAST!! and we would totally drive again. :woohoo: :woohoo:
