I'm not a fan of coconut either....I only like it in the non-alcoholic version of this:

:)
Yeah, I somehow manage to choke those down, too. :rolleyes1

Not sure what we're doing yet for Thanksgiving, but it seems to me we went to DH's dad and stepmom's the last couple years, so I'm going to push to go to my parents'. My mom really does a big feast for Thanksgiving, and it just kills me to miss it!

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate when someone else goes to the effort to make a nice meal, but there's nothing like mom's home cooking! She doesn't think she's much of a cook, but I so miss all the dishes from my childhood. I seriously need to learn how to make them! :rotfl:

And I need a bigger crock pot. Can't decide whether to ask for one as a Christmas gift, or just research one and buy. Who was it who had a big, really good one? I don't remember which one it was, but I think it was either Staley or Garcia?

I have a big one... 6 quarts. LOVE it!! I saw on crock pots web site that they have an 8 qt one...:cloud9: Imagine the roast I could do with that puppy!:rotfl2: Maybe even a whole turkey!:rotfl2:

I hope you are able to go to your parents place this Thanksgiving. :) I don't own a crock pot and don't know how to use it. My older sister bought one for my grandma for her birthday two weeks ago.

I have one of the bigger ones... push buttons on the front, oval shape.

I read on slick deals that Target clearanced out a bunch of small appliances.. crockpots too!! Check it out, never know what you may find... 75% off woohoo!!

Oh, GEESH! It's after 11:30, and I've been up too late the last 3 nights in a row now! I better get my bootinski to bed so I can get DS7 off to school on time tomorrow.

Oh, and with Great-Grandma visiting, I'm not sure if I'll be online while she's here, so I may not be able to chat with you all until she leaves Thursday morning. So I hope you all have a good week!

Good night, all! :cloud9:

I'm glad my inlaws are coming before Thanksgving. I was startign to stress when hubby said his mom likes a big traditional meal for Thanksgving... we don't do traditonal. In fact, last year we didn't even buy any turkey.. made our favorite side dishes and I think we had chicken.

I don't see why I should buy a big turkey, that we will only eat the breast. Makes more sense to buy just a breast---- even if it costs more. Tastes better too.

We had burgers from Am-Pm.. We are NOT a traditional type family. Just buy a breast!:thumbsup2 Much better, and easier. Better yet, order out!

I bought a few crockpot cookbooks; I've found recipes online, too, but of course a lot are not low fat that we ned. You're such a good cook, you should try something out by making something for your grandma in her new crockpot! :thumbsup2

Is that like In and Out?

We're terrible when it comes to holidays. We get bored by afternoon but nothing is open, not even a freakin McDonald's.

One year on Thanksgving Day we were so bored we drove in the snow to Kmart just to walk around...I don't even like Kmart.

Makes you realize how much American customs/ society is still tied to religious traditions.
