buy him a digital one.. aka gameboy... i used to play that game and yes, it will destroy your allowance really really really badly... :|

He's got a Leapster, and that's it for now. (DH, on the other hand, has all the latest electronic toys...)

Alex has a gameboy... But he is only allowed to use it on the airplanes. and long car trips... We bought him some of the cartoon episodes they have.. VERY USEFUL!

Yeah, the Leapster and DH's PSP came in very handy on the plane. DS7 would have been happy with just those, even though I brought books and coloring books with crayons, etc. DS3 even enjoyed watching for quite awhile, that surprised me!

Mikalah just tryies to snatch it away from her brother... then SCREAMS when she cant have it!! I dont know if we are going to take it to DL with us...

I notice when we let DS7 play too long his behavior deteriorates. He becomes really surly when we tell him to turn it off (or anything that takes him away from it.) It's really strange, and doesn't make me inclined to let him have it back.

Really? How weird!! I wonder what the heck would cause that? Alex has a Gamecube, and is generally good about turning it off. Generally!! We have had some meltdowns before! he just tends to get sucked into those games!!

A friend's daughter was having the same behavior when they told her to shut it down, so they severely limited her time on it. She earns time during the week in 10-minute increments, which she gets to use on the weekend only. I didn't take it to that level, he's allowed to play as long as his homework is done. But I don't like him to do it too much.

I can feel my eyelids getting heavy, so I'd better get to bed. I've been shorting myself a bit on sleep this week, and so I'll probably be really tired tomorrow when that horrid alarm goes off.

A friend's daughter was having the same behavior when they told her to shut it down, so they severely limited her time on it. She earns time during the week in 10-minute increments, which she gets to use on the weekend only. I didn't take it to that level, he's allowed to play as long as his homework is done. But I don't like him to do it too much.

Alex used to play it in the morning before the baby and i woke up... Now he gets to play it on the weekends. (In the morning, before we get up! )

DS7 is newly into the Yu-Gi-Oh, stuff and has a stack of cards. I kept finding them everywhere, and was always nagging him about putting them away. So he went off to practice tonight, I walked into the family room, and they were all over the floor! So I picked them all up, put 'em in a ziplock bag, and put the bag on a high shelf in the kitchen. To my surprise, he hasn't even noticed yet.

my son's are the same and so is DH .i am one of those mom's who take stuff away and i forget where i put them..

Good Morning ladies!! Dh is off to get the oil changed in the car... (finally!) and to buy me some cold medicine.... But our exciting news of the morning? Mikalah woke up this morning.. and said, I have to go Pee-pee. Uhhh... Okay. Go for it! I was transferring some money online, and I hear this *tinkle, tinkle, tinkle* Mikalah comes running out of the bathroom... I got it!! You sure did!! Mikalah made in the pot! Now she is diaperless... so we shall see!!!
