I think it was Walmart or Costco, one time I saw this little girl sitting in the shopping cart crying. The mom yells at her to shut up and the girl keeps crying. The mom stops the cart, grabs her by one arm (the girl is screaming now and trying to break free) and the mom hits her several times in a row on her butt and side. :scared1:

 I can't stand to see parents screaming at their kids like that. It's one thing when they misbehave, but it makes me want to cry when I see parents pulling their kids arms real hard or spanking them full force. I can't stand the yelling close to the face thing either. Terrible! :sad2:

but how will they hear you if you arent in there face?:confused3 :lmao: Kidding!! I can put up with alot, but once we all get tired and grumpy... Thats when we hang the kids from the Astro Orbiter!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Alex you should go to DL for Christmas. It's awesome and it really puts you into the Christmas spirit!

Okay... i have to tell you all that I am stupid.... So I have been baking bread almost daily for a while now, right? Well... The past few weeks it has been turning out wrong. :confused3 WTH? What am I doing wrong? I just could not figure out for the life of me WHY my bread had suddenly gone SO wrong. I was using the same recipe, all the same stuff... But it was overflowing the pan, sticking to the machine, burning... The texture was off... :confused3 Took me almost a MONTH to realize it all happened when i opened up the new bottle of yeast.:sad2: Yeah, I was using the wrong yeast..:sad2: Im stupid. :sad1:
OK, this question from me will surprise no one: There are different kinds of yeast???

I had a mom that picked up her kid at child care, brought her into our hallway bathroom and spanked her in there. It was pretty obvious what she was doing, yet she knew if she did it in front of us, as teachers/ mandated reporters, we would not approve.

There are several types of yeast that can be used when making bread. We have ACTIVE DRY YEAST, INSTANT or BREAD MACHINE YEAST and FRESH YEAST. The most common yeast used for baking bread is the ACTIVE DRY YEAST. Probably because of it has been around for a quit some time. Plus, this yeast has a very long shelf life. Active dry yeast needs to be activated. The best way to do that is to place the yeast in a glass of luke warm water (100 - 110 degrees) With a little sugar. For about 10 to 15 min. This will also help to let you know if the yeast is still good. You will know by the foam that is created by the yeast. If it does foam up for you, don't use it.

regular
bread machine
quick rise

And it comes in.. small packets (pricienst way to buy it) , jars, bulk, bricks (like coffee) and long time ago it came in "cake" format.

There is "nutritional yeast" but that's not the same as the kind you need to make bread.

Hmmm.... where can I get in bulk? I am going through it like crazy... except for the last month... Havent baked much. But I am getting back into it.

Don't ya mean... If it is DOESN'T foam up... ???

I like "proofing" my yeast, feel like the dough works better than the quick method (stirred all together).

I have a baking cookbook from the 60's that I love. Good basic recipes with enough info to get from step A to step wow I made my own bread. :thumbsup2

They have regular kind in bulk at Winco.
I think Sam's Club has big bricks and larger jars.

I love Winco for the bulk area, the cashiers kinda sigh and slog thru when I do my bulk runs.
Picture a cart full of plastic baggies, they hand key each code and weigh it.
