Unpopular Opinions- Wish Edition

I tend to consider Disney ships a bit classier than most other cruise lines but with the Wish, it appears they are starting to copy some of the cheesier aspects of the other lines, i.e. a sea roller-coaster, etc. That said, I am quite happy if others love the Wish. It will leave more space for me on the classics, the Wonder and Magic.

Coming back to Palo being Pinocchio themed instead of another B&B themed property they could've just had the blue fairy plastered all over the place and it fits the enchantment mold they're trying to go with for the ship.

I don't mind having the sea roller coaster but it's the over emphasis on IP's that draw me away. The inside just looks like it's going to be a Disney commercial instead of having Disney touches. I'm definitely in no hurry to get on the Wish

It's just a reflection of where Disney is as a company today. EVERYTHING must have an IP tied to it. I don't think you will ever see them do a non-IP restaurant like Enchanted Garden again. Same thing in the parks. We'll never see a Big Thunder Mountain, or Haunted Mansion (which is "IP" now, but wasn't when built) again. Every attraction going forward will tied to an IP.
Sorry, I'm dense - what's "IP"?

Intellectual property. Anything from Mickey Mouse to any of their movie characters they created or now own.
OK, got it. I agree the Wish seems to be a lot more Disney-fied. One of the things that's nice about the Magic & Dream class ships, while they're Disney, it isn't as in your face as being in the parks is. Now that seems to be something that's changing with the Wish - Disney in every nook and cranny.

I’ve seen the concern about the adult pool, but surely I’m not the only one who has some other things they aren’t thrilled about with the new ship news.

For me, I groaned when I saw the Frozen restaurant. I think the show will probably be great, but the current Frozen menu on the Wonder is tied for my least favorite. If they recycle that, I’m going to be very disappointed.

Anyone else not excited about something everyone else seems really hyped about? Unpopular opinions only, so no commenting about how expensive we all know this will be.

In the interest of full disclosure, I still would love to give DCL all my money so I could stay in one of those Little Mermaid rooms over the bridge.
Hi.. off track question lol… Little Mermaid rooms.. are those 2 BR concierge or the royal suites? Thanks

So - do you think the next Triton class ship will be the same over the top, IP, Disney in your face all the time? Maybe this is just for the short haul, first time cruisers who want to be immersed in all things Disney? I'd hate to think that long-time DCL fans will have to stick with the older ships forever to have the classic ocean liner feel with added Disney magic.

Do not like the Marvel restaurant. No interest to me or my teenage daughter. And as she won't be old enough to go to Palo, not sure what we'll do that night - maybe the casual restaurant or room service!

My teenage daughters and I love the idea. We are huge Marvel fans and have watched the movies many times. I want Captain America to hang out with us.

As soon as I heard 'Marvel' I was out. I know nothing about Marvel and don't particularly want to. The Frozen dinner show does nothing for me either. With the number of tables in a dining room it could be hard to see what is going on, so unlike the screens that are all over the dining room and the fish swim by at Animators Palette. That show surrounds you.
There is so much more I'm not loving about this ship but it's early days yet. We don't do short cruises so it will not affect me anyways. No one needs to worry that I will take up a cabin they want, it's all yours.

Oh, honey you are missing out. The Avengers movies are probably some of the best movies out there. So well done. You don't even have to be someone who was into comic books or superheroes to appreciate how amazing those movies are.
