Unpleasant experience at HHI, we are not completing our contract now

So basically, you're doing it as a service to others to keep them from making the same "mistake" you did. Well that is really wonderfull of you. I sure am glad I didn't see your post before we bought our HH points. We absolutely love the resort. We love the low-key theming. We love the marsh location. We even like B'lou (well Shadow actually). Our only regret is that our 150 VWL points are not HH points. But has been said there is some benefit to these type posts. If it steers some folks away from HH, it makes it easier for us that love the place to get ressies.

I support the OP and her (and everyone else's) right to post thier OPINIONS of any resort, treatment, entertainment, restaurant, etc. That is what the DIS and all web boards are all about.

I am so glad that you love HH...truly (I am not being saracastic here). I am hopeful that anyone who purchases DVC really loves it and benefits from it. The OP didn't love HH, but she does love other DVC resorts....no harm, no foul. She did the right thing by visiting before buying. I also think she did a fine job writing up her thoughts/opinions of the resort. Why some people are being hostile and negative toward her is beyond me. This is a new DVC'er. The only thing we should be saying to her is...

WELCOME HOME!

Sorry you didn't love HH, OP...but that is why there are six more! Different strokes for different folks....

Let her be, folks....

Thanks to the OP for posting her opinions. We are currently debating an add-on at HHI b/c DH loves to golf, the kids love the beach, swimming, arts and craft activities and family fishing. HHI sounds low-key yet still with plenty to do on the island for all of us. I've read mostly glowing reports on this site and others not even Disney related. So it was with a nice balance of some of the negatives that she encountered to round out my opinion. I think it was a wise move that the OP went for a preview stay and now she knows its not for her.

I'm checking our calendar to hopefully do a preview stay too so we can be sure its for us!!

...But when one shares one's opinion on a public forum one must be prepared for some to agree, and some to diagree and that should be acceptable too.

You can not say the OP should be heard and then try to silence the critics, that is not fair either.

True, but it really is possible to disagree without being nasty.

While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I appreciate the OP expressing theirs, and their own tastes, there is IMHO no excuse for not doing one's homework prior to a major purchase. While the OP should be commended for going and checking out the resort prior to finalizing their purchase, the OP should not be in any way given a pass or cudos for complaining about the nature of the resort (theming) or the decor since both of these were readily discernable with a little research. However, I am very glad that the OP found out before it was too late to back out of their purchase and utilize the money for something they would be more happy with.

True...but, I think the only critics people on this thread are interesting in "silencing" are the ones who are trying to silence the OP.

I'd just like to say that I really appreciate all of you folks who publicly and privately supported my post, and the intention of my post. Especially those of you who agree with my right to post, but love HHI. I'll say it one more time, different strokes for different folks!

I'd like to belong to an online community where we can find such a multitude of information about programs, resorts, perks, all things Disney, and ALL points of view. :thumbsup2
