Unofficial Guide Question

I am wondering if they are going to put the UG 2006 version out in August still since they had to put a 2005.5 version out in Feb. Anyone know?

Yes, according to Barnes & Noble's website, it is scheduled to be released August 28 - although there was one year it came out about two months late.

If you read any entire edition, Sehlinger does indicate that updated editions are published a couple of times during the year. It's just that this year's update was SO obvious and necessary, usually people don't notice.

Yes, it should be out in late August/early September. And, like 2005, any updates to the book will be freely available on the website.

Thank all of you for your replies, I am looking foward to it!!! I asked hubby to buy it for my birthday present.

I was thinking about getting this book. We bought the Passport and Brimbaum (sp?) guides back in 2003 when we went, but nothing since then. We go in Oct this year, is it worth getting this book? Will we learn much more from it than our "outdated" guides? Also, if we should get it, should we wait til Aug/Sept to get the new one (just a few weeks before our trip), or go ahead and get it now?

You should definately get a new guide since so much has changed in the last year alone.

It is definately worth getting the guide now, as Lentesta said you can get the updates on line when they come out. It's a thick book and may take you some time to get through it.
