Hotel occupancy on the website isn't the only source of their article...

Would guess that the ticket restrictions are having their intended effect, possibly a bit too much. I had been aiming to go sometime in 2025 but for a variety of reasons, including the weird ticket restriction, there's a good chance I hold off until next year.

exactly, I haven't booked anything because I need a single day ticket. I think once those open up there will be quite a good uptake in sales, but a lot of people want to wait until 2026 or even 2027 for a visit.
I'm not purchasing multi day tickets when I already have a trip for earlier in the Month - I just happen to be at WDW while Epic opens so want to jump back over to the park for the day since we will be in Orlando anyway but am not getting more multi tickets when we already have some, I actually have an AP but it's unactivated so can't even get a ticket with that.

They mention that in the article as one of the possible causes. Too many restrictions.

I do wish they didn't force you to buy tickets for the older parks. I imagine if they lifted that restriction, people who bought ticket bundles would be upset, though...
They've said all along that "single day tickets will be available before the park opens May 22" so no one should be upset - they could have very easily have waited for the single day tickets instead of getting a package or multi day ones.

Yeah - I has planned on going for the opening week. They had technical issues and I was not able to get tickets even though I was up and ready to buy very early that morning - so Ill skip it - I'm still pretty annoyed by that mess.
I was also never able to buy tickets on line at all as there was some sort of issue with my AP - there were many folks that had this issue - and it was never resolved. By the time I actually got someone on the phone there were no May tickets to purchse for AP holders

So in the end I did not renew my AP at all and I don't plan to renew my AP until they include Epic.
So Ill probably skip HHN this year - unless Fallout (video game not TV show) is an IP at HHN.

Also with their ridiculous (IMO) 1 day epic several days other parks tickets - they are of no value if you have an AP.
That was the only way for my to go in May - and I am not buying multi day tickets I don't need.
So Ill wait until I can get an AP with Epic.

Ill have to say - if they lost me - and I've been a vocal Universal over Disney visitor for a long time - they must be doing something wrong.

The initial glitch I don't have too much issue with, that happens. But the inability to fix it despite having it affect many loyal customers, and having ample time to do so, and an unwillingness to work around the problem over the phone... that's just sloppy & poor service.

why don't you just get single day tickets for May when they go on sale ?
I bet they start selling them in the next few weeks, that's what I'm doing.

Decent chance there may not be single day tickets available for May. June and beyond should be no problem, maybe a few days will have limited availability.

They'll be available for May.
Just because AP tickets have sold out doesn't mean they don't have tens of thousands for everyone else.
If they're still selling multi day tickets for all dates in May that means they haven't reached anywhere near capacity.

Even if they still have tickets for May, it will be a fierce competition to get them. Remember the agony when AP tickets went on sale? 😂

FOMO won over so we dropped our weekend at WDW to go to Universal in July. Just dropped the $2000+ for the 3 day ticket. Was hoping to somehow get ap tickets so we could return in Nov, but didn’t figure how to make it work since we’d really just want to do Epic in Nov.

As far as Hagrid's, I guess I’m the only person who prefers the sidecar. I think it’s so much more comfortable than the bike.
I love the side car too. It's easier on my back and neck.

Not surprised to see availability in May &, likely into next year.

It’s said that a large majority of travel is booked between Thanksgiving and New years. Not talking travel junkies…those who do a trip a year with families.

Could easily be a case of people already having their travel plans in place this year. Specifically, those who don’t tend to put U as the focus of their Orlando trips. Others wait to see how the inevitable bugs work out before buying into switching

Also, thinking weekends might be more in demand at the Epic hotels this year as an easy way to do a short trip to try it out.

I wonder if that's a decent chunk of the reasoning behind having the multi-Epic-day tickets not available until 2026. Much easier to control attendance during the busiest times if you know exactly how many entries you have sold.

And also will encourage some people to wait until holidays 2026, when they can get multi-day tickets. Spread out the demand a bit.

because my AP isn't activated I didn't have to deal with that mess, but yes I can imagine it will be very "stressful" when they do go on sale.
I have a very short window of 3 days that I can visit in May so would be one of the ones hoping to get the single day tickets for then if I can.
If I can't, I've already told the kids - "don't worry we will be back in a year or two, it will still be there then"

Hopefully they will have a soft opening during your visit. Since the park is so big, I think they should have previews running at least a month for ride testings and staff training.

FWIW I’ve done Mario Karts single rider line, I’ve also been there when it’s closed down. It can be a mixed bag, as you’d imagine with two-across rides. I could see DK being annoying.

Monsters and HP seem like they could be good for single rider though.

I was thinking that, but how would we go about even getting in with a soft opening anyway?
I'm the only one in my family of 4 who have an AP, we are staying onsite from May 3-9 I thought maybe they may offer to resort guests? I don't really know how these soft openings work.
I was thinking of getting everyone an AP but the UK 14 day tickets are cheaper and with the Aussie dollar being so low we need to save money where we can.

I don't know how the soft openings work either, especially with a brand new park. Maybe guests with a hotel reservation can book a slot during their stay? Options to purchase a preview ticket? Hopefully we will find out soon.
