This will be our first trip to Universal, it will be me, my husband and two sons, ages 4 and 11. We are staying at the RPR for 6 nights and trying to figure out where we will be dining. Any suggestions? :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
Thanks in advance!!!!

At the top right corner of the screen, click on Search this Forum and use search terms like restaurant or dining and you'll get loads of dining ideas. There was a long dining thread in the last 2 weeks that should pop up.

Margaritaville--I'd have a meal there the first day to get in the mood for your vacation. You may find yourself here for more meals during the course of your vacation.

NBA City--the food is just okay, but the kids will probably love the atmoshpere.

At Islands of Adventure, we like the Thunder Falls Terrace back in Jurrasic Park.

Have the buffet breakfast in the Islands Dining Room--at RPR at least once. I am not much of a breakfast buffet person, but I like this one.

Try the character breakfast at Confisco--Islands of Adventure.

Venture over to the Hard Rock Hotel and eat at the Kitchen. Take the boat to the Portofino Bay to eat at Sal's (deli & pizza) or Mama Dellas.

For a quick, relatively inexpensive bite, try Cafe 4 at Islands of Adventure, and Louies over at Universal. Both serve fairly decent pizza.

My kids tried to get me to eat at Mel's Friday night. When I suggested NBA City they both changed their minds. My son was in heaven because the place was packed with high school cheerleaders and they were showing NBA greatest plays on one of the big screens. While he was eating his cheeseburger he told me that it was burnt but he didn't care.

Islands Breakfast Buffet... Ah, the cinnamin rolls...(drool)
Jake's has a good cheeseburger. Hard Rock Cafe has the best cheeseburger.
Margaritaville has the 2nd best.
Tchoup Chop is an experience.

Tcoup Chop has become our arrival day tradition. It is amazing. Margaritaville is our other favorite!

Honestly, I've never had a bad meal at IOA, USO, CityWalk and HRH. I think we've eaten just about everywhere, too -- well, not Emeril's.

NBA City has incredible baby-back ribs and a bleu cheese chicken pasta that I truly can't do without -- the pasta, that is.

O'Bryans -- get the redfish if you go, along with a hurricane, of course! The crawfish po-boys and crawfish etoufee nachos are really tasty, too.

Latin Quarter was great...DH got a pork dish, and I got a fish dish.

NASCAR place -- taco salad is awesome! Portions are massive.

Hard Rock Cafe -- everything is good!

Margaritaville -- sorry, but we only ate there once, and the service was horrible, and the ritas were watered down. Compared to a hurricane at O'Bryans, I'll take the hurricane any day! This was my only subpar experience with dining at the USO area. However, we do love to get a hurricane to go and sit in the beach chairs, people watch and listen to the tunes in the Margarita "world." We're probably biased, tho, as native Floridians...we sit on the beach, listen to Buffet and drink margaritas (strong ones we make) all the time.

The Italian place at City was pretty good. Excellent white sangria, but I'm Italian and prefer my Italian cooking

At IoA, Confisco's is my fav. The Greek place (can't remember name) and the little bar/restaurant in the tree have all been great experiences.

At Universal, we almost always eat at Finnegans -- always the fish and chips with multiple pints of Harp or Bass. We've eaten at the seafood place in San Francisco and enjoyed it, as we've enjoyed the big burger joint where the building shakes. Milkshakes are great over at the "drugstore" by the Terminator ride. We've also enjoyed Mel's Diner.

HRH Kitchen -- we enjoy their gourmet pizzas. My mom had their filet a while back and still talks about how good it was.

Bon Appetite!

I think based on your suggestions we will definitely have to go to Margaritaville,
NBA City, Island's, Confisco Grill character breakfast, and Hard Rock Cafe!

It sounds like there are a lot of really good restaurants, too bad we won't have time to go to all of them!

I really think my boys will enjoy the characters at Islands and Confisco, and they will love the sports theme at NBA city, no doubt!

I personally think I will like Margaritaville, especially the beverages!

Pastamore in Citywalk is a favorite. The food (Italian) is consistently good and so. the service. But the BEST restaurant in the entire resort is Mythos. The menu is a bit more sophisticated and the atmosphere is more subdued and quiet, making it a real change from the usual themepark screaming children scene. If the weather is good get a table outside on their covered patio. We've been for lunch and dinner and have always had a really good meal.
