Universal Studios Orlando tickets that expire in May

I've tried contacting Tickets at Work AND US Orlando to get an understanding of what is happening with my tickets. First the stats:

I purchased these from "Tickets at Work" online on 12/06/2019
The tickets say "3-Park Park-to-Park Promo Adult (10+) as the type of ticket
expiration date in the fine print says "All ticket usage must be completed by May 22, 2020"
what I have is a confirmation number to do a 'will call kiosk' ticket pickup when I get to US Orlando gate

Our trip was well within this expiration window. Until US Orlando closed through May 31.

Conflicting information from TaW and US Orlando but it seems like these will expire at end of 2020, but US Orlando also replied to me in an email that I would have to work with TaW if I can't get back in 2020, who refers me back to US Orlando.

In email from US Orlando they simply said: If your tickets are unused and you purchased them through a company other than Universal Orlando Resort, you will need to speak with them regarding their policies.

Seems like if I can't travel to Orlando before the end of 2020 I'm being hung out to dry. I'm well past the 60 day window to dispute the charge on my credit card as well, but I could certainly try that.

Anyone else having these kind of difficulties with 3rd party ticket brokers, or US promo tickets/will call pickup tickets?

We have similar tickets, and bought 3rd party, but not taw. I spoke with US and they told me my tickets were automatically good through the end of the year, and that if I couldn’t get there before then, I could use the price paid for these ticket (or maybe the value of these tix, unclear on that) towards my purchase of new tickets next year at US. I believed them.

ETA, ours were not vouchers, but printouts we could take right to the turnstiles.

Good to know! Possibly I'm reading too much into the wording they are using to reply to my contact. When the heat does down on the customer service lines I'll see if I can get a clearer answer. Certainly seems like if I'm planning on using them in 2021 I'll have to get US or TaW to sell me new tickets with credit from the old ones put toward that price, or I'm taking a loss.

Subscribing - in the same boat. Got those exact same tickets as part of a redemption from Air Miles. I could return them to get my points back, but if USO will honor them until the end of this year that would be the easier option for me for possible trips in July or December.

Universal 800 number (option 2 for tickets) said this specifically about my "3-Park 3-Day Park-to-Park PROMO" tickets:

They will not expire until Dec 17, 2020. Anytime before that, just go to the will-call kiosk and get them printed as originally instructed.

For travel in 2021 take the confirmation number and ticket info from my TaW purchase email to the guest services counter and they will apply the value of these expired tickets to new tickets. There will likely be a charge for the difference even for exact same tickets as ticket prices always increase.

I definitely don't like sitting on the value of these tickets for a whole year, but I do have to admit that even on USO site they say tickets are non-refundable. Hopefully it all works out like they say by the time I get back to USO in May of 2021.

Not getting any refund from TaW unless I try to do a credit card dispute.

“Unexpired single-day tickets that have already been purchased will be valid on any day for 365 days from the purchase date.

Unexpired multi-day tickets that have already been purchased will also be valid for first use on any day from 365 days from purchase – but, as always, must be used within seven days of first use.

Florida Resident discounted ticket usage windows and blockout dates remain unchanged unless otherwise communicated.

If you cannot travel during this time, you can apply the value of a wholly unused ticket toward a new purchase.”

I’d argue my point to Universal re the last sentence on their website’s Covid policy. Not talking a refund, but they should allow you to apply that unused voucher toward new tickets in the future.

Only due to dealing with one cancelled cruise & a potential 2nd one soon, have I heard that many of the various CC companies are being flexible. Many of them looking at chargeback requests past their stated policy of ‘purchse’ with a more lenient eye. In line with anticipated services not being available/rendered as promised as to specific date(s) due to no fault of the purchaser.

If you are uncomfortable with what U is offering, then your next step is to explore the above option. Be prepared to provide documentation to support you had the trip planned. Good luck
