Figured I'd post this if anyone else wanted to know. I had purchased the preferred pass with the extra 3 months promotion earlier this year, but things changed and I decided I wanted the premier pass, but couldn't justify the upgrade if it lost the promo. I went to guest services (hr long wait, ugh) to activate and upgrade, and I asked the team member if this was possible to upgrade and keep the promo. He said yes, and while doing it, I asked several more times just to make sure that it wouldn't affect the promo. Got my pass and had a great day!
... but that night, I went to link it to my account and noticed that the expiration date was for 12 months! Went back to the parks that weekend, spent another hour in line for guest services and explained the situation "my expiration date is wrong, prob cuz of the promo and upgrade, but I was told it wouldn't be a problem" Team member took my pass and 5 mins later (probably after speaking with a superior) my card has the right 15 month date all set! Then he spent another 5 minutes documenting my info so they have a record of what happened, probably for data analysis purposes.
