Uniquely DVC packing items

We are empty nesters, so to personalize our room I bring framed pics of our kids and grandkids. I also keep a feather pillow(I can't sleep without one) in ours.

One thing I have missed our last 2 trips has been a pizza cutter! We tend to pick up frozen pizzas for quick meals but the knives provided in the villas just do not "cut it" when it comes to pizzas! Also a small cheese grater, although sometimes our villa has had one, but sometimes it doesn't. (unless we have a studio, because then we wouldn't have the conventional oven) And I definitely agree with the laundry sheets...they work great and travel well!;)

I do not think I saw rain ponchos mentioned. They are so expensive at the parks so I always bring the cheap ones from walmart. I also bring some pool toys/floats that are not too big and a pop up laundry basket.

I bring the rest of the stuff that other posters have mentioned but never thought to bring disposable coffee cups. That will be on my list in the future.

Oh and gum, can't forget the gum!

quart or sandwich bags
If going to VB I take Gallon bags for shells.

Sugar packs or Splenda....

Tin foil sheets - my kids like to take scrambled egg burritos on the go for rope drop.

Dryer Sheets

Frozen Homemade Choc Chip cookie dough ----- we bake cookies for a late night snack!:cool1:

Dave

Pop up hamper
air freshener spray
pump hand soap
zip lock full of sugar and splenda (keeps me from having to be a thief and steal it all the time from spots where you fix your own coffee!)
power strip - for all the charging of items

To the poster who recommended a dishwasher tab for the tub, what do you do? Do you just fill it, drop in and run the tub? I usually buy a small bottle of bleach and run a very diluted bleach mix through the jetted tub for 5 minutes, before we use it. .

Exactly.

I have a jetted tub at home. Use either the powder dishwasher detergent or a tab and fill the tub past the jets and run it for a while to clean out the jets.

Southwest doesn't :)

We only go down once a year so owner's locker is just not worth it. (Enlighten me if you think I am wrong.)

(We also bring Tim Horton's coffee. Not available in FL)

A must have for us also. We drive down so an Owner's Locker isn't for us either. I've just started my own in a rubbermaid container that will hold all our Disney only needs. Spices, salt, pepper, sugar or sweetner those items are in short supply and if your particular (which we are with our coffee) its best to bring it yourself.

Snap hooks for the shower - great for hanging up wet bathing suits. I also use them for my shower puff.

I also bring a power strip to charge phones, cameras, etc.

What are snap hooks? Do you mean the ones with the suction cups? I think I could use these also and would like to get some before we leave.

Exactly. I have a box of eight - four smaller and four larger. They are in my blue tub at home.

Thanks for clearing that up for me:) Now my other question is how well do they work. At home I have tile with a bit of a texture to it and nothing sticks as a result so I've had no luck with them. What are the tiles like at OKW? Do they work well with them, if so I think I will go out and get us some...nothing worse than having wet towels because of wet bathing suit:headache

In all the years of using them, I've only had one fall. I use them in the shower and it is smooth.

We only use the studios right now so no showers but will try them in March. If I remember correctly the bathtub was kind of all in one tub and walls and therefore it was smooth. Could you tell me where you got them? Hopefully I will be able to find them here in Ontario.

:) In our Owner's Locker I put extra clothes hangers and chip clips. I also have toothpicks....plus the usual things. I have an umbrella and extra set of towels, PJs, underwear for both of us....less to pack for the airplane.:thumbsup2

Oh and DH has his 100 green aliens from Toy Story, yep 100...he puts them on the dresser under the TV. I wonder what Mousekeeping thinks. He has 100 at home in his office and now we have 100 in the OL.

We also bring the disposable coffee cups, and coffee filters (we buy the mickey blend coffee in the gift shop, as that is better than what is in the room according to DH, as I don't drink coffee. Last trip I bought the Mickey ice cube trays and I will bring those back and forth. I just can't use the ones provided as I'm sure they would melt if I washed them first in the dishwasher. I also love those purex laundry soap/dryer sheet all in one! I bring a zip lock baggie of clorox wipes and wipe everything down too!

Now, here's a question does anyone put soda/water in their luggage down (so you have an empty suitcase to come back with)? If so, any issue with the pressure/exploding issues?

:) Yes DH use to pack 8-10 Monster Drinks in the cans in a small soft sided cooler in his luggage down. They made it 2-3 times just fine....now we just buy them when we get there.

Yes, fill the tub PAST the jets! Otherwise, the water will shoot all over the floor. (Ask me how I know this  )

We drive, but I got an Owner's Locker this last trip. It was actually my bday/Christmas present because DH is tired of me hauling all this stuff back and forth! :lmao:

Might have been Bed Bath and Beyond or Target or Walgreens. It's been so long since I bought them.
