Unique Baby Girls names??

Well I don't have time to read thru all this, Yikes 16 pages, but a neighbor just had a baby and she named her Carysn Olivia, when I first heard Carson, I was like eww that's a boys name, but then when I saw it Carsyn I liked it. Also knew 3 sisters Julianne, Suzanne & Georganne and oh yeah the mom was Joanne. If my son was a girl he'd of been Gabrielle, not Gabby but GABRIELLE, I think that name is so pretty.

If we would have had a girl, her name would have been Nathalie Lauren or Jordan Cayleigh. We had 2 boys so we never made the final decision.

I haven't read all the posts, so sorry if I'm repeating, but when I was expecting, I enjoyed looking at the Social Security Administrations's Baby Name Database. Scroll down a little and you can say whether you want top 10, 20, 100... names by year of birth. We have one dd whose name was in the 200's in her year of birth and we have literally met maybe one other in her 8 years of life. The other's name was about in the 20's, and we know tons of them. It's a useful tool.

My DD names are KARISSA NICOLE and ALLYSON MARIE. I have only met one other Karissa but it was spelled with a C. My name is MECHELLE, so I had to give my girls names that they also couldn't find on anything that is personalized.

I am a first grade teacher. What ever name you choose try to make sure there are not a lot of cruel nicknames that come to mind. Ok that said....my girls are

I have always love EMMA CLAIRE but my sister-in-law "called" that name for when she has kids...........

I thought we were being somewhat unique with Kennedy and when we were in WDW someone on the Momrail said, "Kennedy sit down right now" I turned and the Kennedy was a little boy. Guess we are not so original.

I always loved the idea of the daughters having masculine nicknames. I always envied them having COOL names like.....

I think our second daughter's name is "unique but not too unique". . . It's ADAH. I found it on the social security page that someone mentioned here. It was on the list from about 1900-1930. When I looked up the meaning it was "beautiful addition", so I was sold! I love the name. And although it doesn't sound "strange", it's not a name that you hear often.

My daughter loves her name, she always felt unique, she is 23 Chanelle Marie.

A lady at our church has named all of her children after presidents, which I thought was fun.

Wow! I only got through a few of the beginning pages and there are some seriously GREAT suggestions! I love the idea of having a unique but not too unique name!

Our DD is Grace...classic, but I love it...and it is pretty popular right now. I work in a peds office and it is amazing the name trends we see. Right now there are a lot of Sara(h)s, Eleanores, Ava, etc.

On the 'Unique' name front...we used to have a TV reporter here in WI named Yanick Dahlhouse (pronounced: Unique Dollhouse). I don't know what happened to her, but she was pretty good...loved the name!

We have one DD, Athena Jean. We are also expecting our next dear child in January. If it is a girl, she will be Thalia Elizabeth (pronounced Tha- lee-a) keeping in theme with Athena. Thalia was the sister of the Greek goddess Athena and was the Muse of comedy and poetry. If we have a boy, it will be Garin Charles. Also keeping in theme with Athena. Athena was the goddess of wisdom and war and Garin means "warrior". Also my husband is active duty army and wanted a strong, warrior name, so it fits perfectly! We like to have unique first names and common middle names, just in case they decide they don't like their first name, they can go by their middle name.

Well, I haven't read through all the posts(there are 17 pages!) but I'll go ahead and post my dd's name ...Baker ELizabeth. Baker is my mothers' maiden name, that way I could honor my mom and my grandparents and Elizabeth because we wanted something feminine because "Baker" wasn't feminine. I also liked Shyanne/Cheyenne. DH's sister's middle name is Shay and his mothers' name was Sharron Anne, so it kind of combined the two, but DH didn't like that name. I wanted something very personal and even though I know people think her name is weird, I love it because it kind of stands for people that I care about.

don't know yet if girl. However, being a disney fanatic all 3 of my kids will have disney names. My son is Walter Elias Eby. For another boy it would be..Sebastian (Little Mermaid) Spencer and a girl...Adelaide (Aristocats) Catherine. I have other ideas if 2 boys or 2 more girls, but I am hoping for 1 of each

Well, I didn't read through this whole thread, but I'm so excited I have to throw my 2 cents in....
My husband and I are adopting an infant (birth mother is due at any time) and her name will be Jocelyn Faith.
Jocelyn (or Joslyn) is pretty unique and not very common around here.... I can't wait to meet her!
