Unique Baby Girls names??

I am pregnant right now and some of the girl names I am thinking of are Sophia, Samara, Trinity, Tessa, I also like my mom's name which is Anita. My SIL has three girls with pretty names Madeline Rose, Olivia Grace and Ava Marie.

We chose Shayla which is pretty unique. I liked Kayla but had a niece named Kali. So, we did a different beginning and came up with Shayla.

:cheer2:

My Cousins names are
Canyen Tyler (Boy) (8)
Kyndal Grace (6)
Zoe Ysabella (5)
Nory Clarise (3)

I think they are unique but not so uniue that it's weird..just Cute! :rotfl2:

Do you pronounce it with a short or long "e" sound?

My son's name is Kieran (same meaning as you posted), pronounced with a long e sound, although alot of times, people ask if his name is "Karen"..... it must be a southern accent thing... and that not many people have heard the name in Virginia. Go to New Jersey, and there are lots of Kierans. :-)

Just a friendly note: Samara is the name of a girl/demon/killer in "The Ring" movies.

Oddly enough I have never seen The Ring movies! Samara was my great grandma's name.

my DD is named Autumn Rain, we thought about Everest, Emma Leigh, Dakota...my nieces are Kiaura (from the Lion King 2) and Sidney (rearrange Disney)

My daughter's name is Julianna Eleanor (although she is called Julie more often than Julianna). I like it because we can call her Julie, Jule, Jules... and as she gets older she can pick what she'd like to be called.

We kept that in mind when we named our 2nd daughter Katherine Elizabeth (which is actually my name -- she's a "junior"!). She's mainly "Katie" right now, but I think she'll be a Kate by the time she goes to school.

When I was picking names for my girls, I had two criteria: it had to be a name that would fit them at any age, and it had to be a name that would fit any career they chose.

PS don't tell my husband I'm thinking about having another child, but if we ever have another girl she'll be a Caroline or a Tess.

Give your little one a name that means something. A name that can reflect their personality - or at least what you'd hope it will reflect. Hey, I even like the name "Hope" for a little girl. My name is "Joy". One of my oldest dearest friends is named "Holly"!!!

My little one (pictured below) is named Jamilah (which means beautiful) and her middle name is Amirah (which means princess) - yeah she's my little beautiful princess!!!! :wave2:

Forgive me. I didn't read thru many pages. When I opened it I didn't realize how many pages there were.
I too searched for an unusual yet not bizaree name. We went thru the internet to check most popular name & stayed away from them. We chose Morgan not knowing ANYONE other than movie stars named Morgan. Now, everwhere I turn there is a Morgan!
personally, I like going thru old surnames in the family.Sometimes those are the most beautiful. If I had a boy he would have been Carter...a family surname & meaningful. BTW my teenager daughter is Krystal. She only has a couple other Krystals in her school.

I've already posted that my DD's name is Morgan. We think it's a beautiful name. Not many around our town with that name. We also liked it because when she gets older is will still be fine. My DH loved the name Madison. I told him that when she gets to be older, that not a good adult name. Carter for a boy's name is in my DH's family.

:thumbsup2

My dds are some variation of family names. The twins are Lee Ann Mary, named after my dad, Lee, my mom's middle name, Ann, and DH's mom Mary, Jamie Lynn - James is DH's middle name and Lynn is mine. Youngest DD is Julia Fay - Fay is my grandmother's name. We're in a huge school district and so far my girls are the only ones in their grade with their names.

My sister named her dds Kelsie Delane and Annalee Michael - aka Anna. Ann and Lee were her DH's parents' middle names, and his sister is LeAnn.

No matter what name she chooses, tell her to try yelling it and make sure the full name rolls off the tongue. It kills a stern warning if you can't get the full name out. :rotfl2:

Here are a couple more girl names: Cassandra, Catriona, and Wren.

For Irish boys: Tristan, Owen, Seamus, Padraig, Eamon, Evan, Declan, Kyle, Sean, Aiden, Kevin, Colin, Connor.

I once had an Irish baby names book, but I gave it away. These are the ones I remember.

My sons name is Darrell Cameron Joseph Noah
My eldest daughters name is Hannah Gabrielle Faith Noah
My youngest and last daughter is Aliyah Jasmine Carlston Grace Noah....

Cameron is Welsh (I think?)means wise
Hannah is Hebrew and means glory of God
Aliyah is Arabic and means strength of God

Both me and my sister have unique names hers is Cricket mine is Misha.
And so do our daughters. My daughters' names are Joie Diane(pronouced Joey) and Jacqui Marie. And her daughters name is Ellianna. It might sound old fashion but, both of my girls' were named after family members including middle names.

My cousin's name is Seana. She was named after her dad who is named Sean. I always loved that name. I never heard of that name before.

Sorry, no time to read the entire thread....but I'll throw in my dd's names...

Ayden Elizabeth and Alethia Morgan

They are unusual enough that you can never find anything premade with their name, but no so unusual that people go "Oh, that's a really INTERESTING name". Most often I get comments on how pretty the name Alethia is....or that they have some distant relative by that name. There are a million boys named Aidan out there...so we hear dd #1's name a lot, but rarely for a girl.

I did not read through all 15 pages but wanted to add some in case they have not been on here
My 2 dd's
1st dd first name is Maleah
2nd dd middle name is Brinley

Haven't read through the entire thread but.............

One of my DD's is named Ashlyn. Unique, but a form of Ashley.

I have only heard it one other time & it was the sister of one of Ashlyn's friends. He told her that when they played soccer together in 2nd grade his mom liked her name so much she named her own DD Ashlyn! :goodvibes
