Under Bed/Sofa storage?

This is our first time cruising with our son, (who has the most stuff!), and we are wondering if there is room to store things under the beds and under the sofa? Does anyone know? Silly me--this is the Disboards, I should say, who can tell me the quickest? Thanks...

About 8 inches of clearance under the bed.

It makes it easier to put a suitcase under the bed if you lift it up a bit first. We put all the suitcases and two lifejackets under there to make more room in the closet. There really is plenty of storage space in the staterooms.

I tried to put our suitcases under the bed but they wouldn't fit. It turned out to be a good thing because our cabin flooded with 4 inches of water from the door to the balcony and our luggage would have been waterlogged!
Now this was a rare occurance but I will never leave my luggage or anything else on the floor of my cabin.

Just curious -- what deck were you on? And was the flooding from a storm at sea and your balcony door was open, or did a pipe leak?

Also, just FYI, we always pack large (30 gal) garbage bags and put our luggage in them before we slip it under the bed.

It was a broken pipe in the hallway. We were on deck 5 aft. It happened in the middle of the first night and flooded out 5 cabins total. I woke up to the sound of running water and got out of bed to go to the bathroom. I stepped into water up to my ankles! They had to relocate all the flooded cabins. During the week cruise they replaced the carpet in the rooms and the hallway. We would go back to visit and see the progress.

I wouldn't leave the balcony door open with a 5 year old in the cabin.
