It seems every time I sit down to read your PTR, I never quite made it to the latest update without interruption. But today, I was able to get through them all. Well...I did skip the shoe installment...for the obvious reasons.

Anyway, it sounds like you are planning quite the hootenanny and I hope you all have have a fantastic time.

Glad to have you here, even if you don't read about the shoes ! We are certainly planning for a good time! How have you been, family? Any WDW trips planned?

You will love the Tea. Just did it on Saturday and it is delicious!

Jill! Good to see you. I didn't realize you were just there, where the heck have I been?!? I hope you had a great time. What tea did you end up having? I'm still on the fence about what to get, not sure if I want to do a la carte or the fixed menu??
I'd love your input and thoughts on the experience.

Maybe explore a resort or two that you want to look at and then go get ready for your tea?

I thought of this good idea too, Ms. Kat. I think it might come down to winging it and see what we're feeling like that day. I've never seen the boardwalk, maybe we'll do that.

Where did you end up booking your reservations? Did that change?

Nope! No changes so far. Rooms are, 2 nights AofA, 7 Nights at CSR, and 2 nights Royal Rooms POR.

The tea sounds lovely for you and Mackie (certainly not something I would ever get my husband to do ).

Maybe when Alisha goes to WDW with you, you two can plan to have tea. I hear it's a relaxing way to spend your afternoon, lots of wives comment how their husbands liked it. You may get that hat wearing, handsome, hubby of yours to go with you after all.

LM was open, Belle's Story Time, No BOG restaurant at the time Maroo was there, just allowing people to come in and take a look around and take pics on her last day there. I hear they are supposed to have a few select guests this week to come in and eat. Gaston's Tavern was open and serving!

Exactly my thoughts too! From what I'm hearing, the LM ride has gotten stuck many times, people have ended up waiting in line for three hours due to the ride shutting down, or being evacuated from the ride all together, in the middle of the ride! I'd much rather wait until they have all the bugs worked out.

Do you have another trip in the making, Dan?

While we were on it yesterday, they announced that the ride was closed, but it continued. Definately working out the kinks! It really well done, and we enjoyed it. Thankfully both our rides were successful ones!!

that stinks, but would still love to be on it, we were hoping for a soft opening of the soft opening while we were there...however we were there when they just opened the new big top souveniour stand and the new fast pass distribution for dumbo and goofy.

we were a few days earlier for the opening of the new meet and great character location but did see them put planters up to block the entrance.


we are taking another one before noelle turns 3 for sure, either early 2014 or early summer 2014 not sure yet.

My ladies did the Grand Floridian Tea on our trip this summer and really enjoyed it. Yes, you need to wear a dressy dress.

Disney has a new theme for 2013, name stinks but the concept is kinda cool. Wonder what they will have going on in May?

Ooooh, I'm so sorry Dan. Well, like you said...it will be waiting for you when you go next time and all the bugs will have been worked out.
If y'all go in 2014 then the Mine train coaster will be done!! Then you'll get to enjoy the entire new part of FL!! You'll get to be part of the newest attraction and I'm sure so much more since there are a lot of changes going on all over WDW!!

Michelle, I would love, love, love for you to come and have tea with Mackenzie and I. The only part that might not work for you is the fact it's Mothers Day. If you plan on being in the parks that day, I'd say take a little break from the boys and come have tea with us girls. Seriously!

When I was young (and skinny) it wouldn't be anything for me to think about dressing up. I guess I'm just so use to not thinking of myself in that manner anymore it's hard to get my head around trying to feel pretty again. Dress up I will! Thanks, Glennbo!

have you heard when in 2014 the mine train will be open? i havent heard just the year...

kind of like when they announced fantasyland open 2012...everyone figured summer since that is there busy time and would be nice for that, but then they take there sweet time and dont finish it till the year is almost over.

we would love fall 2014, but noelle will be 3 already and trying to squeeze in another trip before she starts getting charged.

and sneaky disney for asker her birthdate when we took the last trip so now she is on file....although i could have lied and bumped it back.

Actually I've heard later in the year just like the other FL attractions, but I think it will be done by end of spring or as late as mid summer. In my opinion. As soon as I hear a date I'll let you know, or if you hear of one first, let me know!

I know!! I'm so excited I finally got the rooms booked!! Makes it so real, ya know? The next major hurdle will be our flights. Southwest's dates for May should come out Monday!!

The PJ's are pretty cute, of course I always find cute stuff for Mackie.....you know, I really need to come out of that thinking! I'm now small enough to be able to wear the same types of clothing she can, I've got a lot of thinking to turn around! Not that I would dress like a teenager , but the cute PJ's I could totally do!

I sure hope you are right about the epic trip! In fact Mackenzie and I are throwing a little wrench into the plans, a wrench that may make it a little more epic.

Howdy Dis'ers!!

In case you didn't read in the post above, I just dropped a hint about our plans chaning a bit in my last post to my brotha, Mr. Tim.

Upon talking with my daughter Mackenzie last night to try and finalize some plans, (and before booking flights next week) we discovered we only had one day planned for AK into our schedule.

I guess in all my excitment in wanting to see the new FL I've planned three full days there and only one day at AK.

Now, I personally don't mind being in AK only one day, but Mackenzie on the other hand says it's a no go, we need to have two days to do AK. Have I taught her well, or have I taught her well?

At first I thought we'd just wing it and see what we ended up doing on the trip, but then Mackenzie mentioned something about adding another day. Hmmmm..... At first I said there's no way since she will have missed up to the amount of school she could miss at one time, but then I remembered we were flying out on a Monday, why not back it up a day?!? We have the entire weekend to back it up a day or two if we wanted to!

So I started looking at our planner for crowd levels, 1) to see how we could do this without throwing off the plans completely. As you've seen me say before, I hate changing up the plans once I pretty much have them set.
And 2) Dawn (chloe770) and I are trying to put together an ADR, and I would hate to change it since I believe we've figured out an evening that will work for the both of our schedules. Like I said....I hate changing plans if I dont' have to.

According to the planner I have, Mondays are bad days to try and go to just about any park except EPCOT and the first half of the day at DHS (which are both marked green), the only red day is.....you guessed it AK. Of course.
Since it's an EMH that morning we are being warned to go else where.
We could do MK that day (which turns out to be a yellow day-meaning a warning about the park) and then switch it up the next day to go to AK (which happens to be a green day to go to AK) instead and then skip on over to MK to meet up with Dawn and her baby girl to have dinner. That could be a good alternative.
Another factor is this time of the year, it's supposed to be fairly slow, I'm wondering if I should heavily rely upon the crowd calendar for this or if I should just throw caution to the wind and say to heck with it and do what we want? Do I sound like someone who can do that?

Oooooh boy. I guess I have some thinking to do before Monday. What a blessing to have this as a problem.

May is a nice time to go but IMO can still be a bit crowded at times. I have never gone in the summer so I can't compare but it seemed more crowded than say Sept. But it's Disney. Anytime is a good time to go

What is this crowd calendar you speak of? It sounds very useful and easy to read!

For an extra day!! I've been using TGM, not sure if I'll use him in the future with all the free apps and what not now days. I've had use of his site for a couple of years now which is the only reason I'm using it now. And no, I wouldn't say he's an easy read. Once you get to the right page it's easy to figure out, but it takes some fanagling to figure things out on his site. As much as I've enjoyed using his site, (he's very thorough, gives lots of detail on how to plan your trip-especially if you are a first timmer to the parks) I think twice about recommending it to others due to how confusing his site is at first.

You're right, May was pretty crowded when we went the last two times, but it was also close to Star Wars weekends both times, I was hoping we'd avoid the heavier crowds by going earlier in the month. We'll see! And yes, any time is a good time.
