UK phone booth telephone number(s)

We came across this random piece of trivia, and just called our friends who are in Epcot! Their mom gave us a heads up, and we called and asked for their ten year old- she was totally surprised!! Fun!!

Thanks for the tip!:rotfl:

Here's my story: I had told it in another post about Magical Moments. I copied it here:

But on our last trip.....
I first did this for my DS, but when I told my DD and her 2 friends, they wanted to do it. I called the pay phone in UK when DS went in there, he thought it was cute. Well my DD's friend ( Lauren 15yr old -1st time to WDW) wanted to call.

Well there was this big group (all in blue shirts) looked like they were from a different country. They were taking pictures in the phone booth. Lauren called. A young guy ansrewed, she said "Hi, how are you, I hope you are having a wonderful trip", he was so excited, then she said "I like your blue shirts", he was amazed, he said "who is this", she said "its Tinker Bell, I am flying over Epcot". He made her say hello to others in his group, they were all laughing and really enjoying the phone call. Later we walked over there to take a pic, and he told us, "Tinker Bell might call you, she called us." Lauren was so excited, she was telling me she was having so much fun, and wanted to work at WDW. It was one of the highlights of our trip, bringing joy and excitement to others.

Great story, Tink20! pixiedust:

Weird..

I called the phone earlier and asked for Mary Poppins and the guy said hold on and gave the phone to someone who sounded just like her and she said to "Please stop calling this phone." I only called it a couple of times.. :confused3

wow - try to have a little fun and give some fun to people in the parks and they are rude.

some people just don't know how to play and have fun. if you don't want to answer the phone then don't

Nobody within earshot of the very soft ringers on these phones would
have any authority in their use.

Ignore any comments like that.

We were just there on Monday and my cousin who is 18 answered the phone. The person asked her if she was having a good day and she said yes and they said good and said Bye bye and hung up. :lmao: We also tried calling the phones while in the area. Once a boy about 11 answered the phone (we could see him pick it up) but it was an foreign sounding lady that answered our phone??? lol Then we tried to call again and had my DD pick it up and it worked... We spent a lot of time around the phones watching people pick up the phones when they were ringing. It was amusing... :rotfl: (We weren't the ones that were calling the phones... I told my 'Eric' that it was probably the DIS Calling)

If you call from a cell phone and you hang up before someone picks it up will it call you back?

I just got the cutest girl from Canada who answered. I told her it was going to be a very busy week at Disney and that she needs to use those fastpasses!!!

I just called. A man answered and handed the phone over to his son. I asked him if Mary Poppins was there. The little one got so excited and started yelling, "It's Mary Poppins! It's Mary Poppins!". So I threw on an English accent and asked if he was having fun, if he was having a nice vacation, and if he was being good for his mum and dad. He was SOOO excited to be speaking with Mary Poppins!

This is highly addictive. Must wander around the phones when we go in May!

ahhhh that's so cute - hope you're using one of those 1010 numbers LOL

addictive phone calls that are LD become very expensive

I will have to set a time and date and get back to you :) this is so much fun.

Okay, I'm trying to think of some good names to be, or to ask for, when someone picks up the UK phones.
The ones already mentioned have been..
The Queen
Tinkerbell
Mary Poppins
Bert
Snow White

How about trying...
Sherlock Holmes
Prince Charles
Gordon Ramsey
David Beckham
Victoria Beckham
The Spice Girls
The Beatles
Dr. Who
Austin Powers
James Bond
Elton John
Simon Cowell

Any other ideas? :confused3

Mr. M Python - Mr. Monty Python
Harry Potter
Rob Patterson
William Shakespeare

I love the Harry Potter idea!
He could tell people not to bother going to see him at Universal Studios!;)

I just thought of...
Ozzie Osbourne
Sharon Osbourne
Amy Winehouse
Tigger
Alice In Wonderland
The Mad Hatter
The Red Queen

Well, they weren't in Canada, they were in the UK (actually in Epcot, if you want to get right down to it.) ;)

But, it is fun to be at home and instantly connect with someone, at random, in World Showcase. :thumbsup2

I think the poster meant the person they were talking to couldn't believe they were talking to someone from (in) Canada :).
