UK phone booth telephone number(s)

just saved the numbers into my cell phone. i will try to play a trick on hubby-to-be on our honeymoon next month.

It went right to a fax machine sound instead of a ring. :confused3

They did that sometimes. They are very, very fickle. You have to time it exactly right and it has to be busy like Robo said, but also they pretty much have to have the door closed since the ringer isn't that loud. It was harder than I thought it would be to get someone on the line.

Thanks for posting the numbers! I'll definitely have to call them on my next trip!

I never thought of doing this... how cool!! I wish I had a friend with a British accent... I acn't fake one to save my life. Then again, I could just be myself-- a mom from PA!! :rotfl:

OMG it worked!!! I got a REALLY funny man who played along with me the whole time. I asked for the Queen and he said she is having tea right now. TOOOO funny. I wonder why it didn't work for me before :confused3

I found this when I called last night. It took me sometime before I got anyone on the phone. It took me about 20 minutes to finally reach someone. Once I did, it was well worth it. The young man I talked to said the phone ringing scared the living daylights out of him because he had no idea the phones worked. He said he walked into the phone booth and the phone rang.

Boy is it ever hard to get through to this line, but I did it again after several failed attempts! (WOW I have absolutely WAY too much time on my hands today).

This time, I said I was Snow White and that I was by the wishing well in Germany. The person on the other end asked if this was a prank call. ROFL......I said, "I am calling the red phone booth in England, and there are never any pranks at Disney...just magic!"

I called the middle phone 2 times with a space of time between and I think I got the same woman twice, she was rude and hung up on me!!!!

Oh, that's not nice (re: hanging up on you!). Keep trying! I had someone hang up on me several times when I called the middle booth as well. I heard them pick up, then slam the phone down. I called again, heard them pick up, I said "HI!" and down went the phone again. I tried once more (I was attempting to get all three booths), and same thing happened again. I know someone picked up because I could hear them mumbling to themselves.

I just talked to a girl named Emily from Ontario!!!!

I asked if she was having a nice trip and she said yes! :rotfl:

update: I called again and got Andrew! He just got to Epcot and is staying for Illuminations!

We were in EPCOT last week and hid out across the street from the phone booths. We phoned the booths when someone was close and had several conversations with the surprised bystanders.
My favorite exchange was with a group of guys wearing red bandannas. One picked up the middle phone when I called and I started asking questions like who were they and what were they doing. It turns out they were engaged in a corporate team building exercise and were going around looking for clues.
I started describing one of his teammates saying he looked tired and they should buy him some ice cream. The guy said they only get a bottle of water. The conversation lasted for about 5 minutes then I said I needed to run and wished them luck.
A few minutes later a yellow bandanna group came up and I phoned again. This time, with my previous knowledge, I could have a little more fun.
I told them the red group was way ahead of them and had most of their clues. I said the reds were given churros and dole Whips. I also told them that the pink group was already at the pub drinking. The yellow team leader was passing the phone around and everyone was laughing. My family and I were only about 50 feet away across the street pretending to look at our EPCOT map. We were never busted.:rolleyes1
I was going into great detail asking about specific team members and these guys were looking into the trees and all over trying to find the "camera".
I finally ran out of things to say and told him I needed to go. He asked if I had a clue to give him and I told him no and I was sorry.
It hadn't occurred to me that they thought my call was part of their exercise. They were actually wasting time with me waiting for their clue.
I hope now the yellow team didn't lose because of my 15 minute unintended penalty!:confused3

I've never called from home, it's actually hard enough when you are right there watching for someone to be near the booths. Very few people dare to pick it up.

Like you, Toysrcool, I called from across the street, actually over by the fountain at the UK bathrooms. Lots of people stand around there talking on their phones, so it looks perfectly normal. :rolleyes1

Let's post here if we intend to be at Epcot by the UK phones and tell exactly what time to call, wouldn't that be a hoot to chat up a DISer?

That's an awesome story about the red and yellow teams!!! :thumbsup2

It can be REALLY hard to hear those phones I'm guessing. Before I talked to the girl I got 3 people to answer the phone and they were shouting hello and I was talking as loud as I could without being busted and they just kept saying hello. When I had DH answer the phones we had a hard time hearing each other sometimes, but not always :confused3

Ooh, great idea! I'd love to call & speak with a DISer while I am home wishing I was there...:wizard: long distance magic...

I'm jealous of you people who had nice people today!
I just got a bunch of really creeped out teenagers who hung up on me

I think that must have been the problem when I called and got hung up on so often. Mind you, I'm here in Canada, so perhaps the crowds were just heavy. :confused3

Keep trying! It'll be worth it in the end :)

My daughter just called and got a girl around the same age as her! We need to come up with a new line....we are sick of being Snow White. Hehehe
