UK phone booth telephone number(s)

this sounds like fun! Thanks for posting the question, and posting the numbers!! Duely noted in cell phone - called, someone picked up - but :confused3 I had no idea what to say!! I said "you have the wrong number sir" and he said, "OK but this is Disneyworld" I said, "and here I thought I was callin in England Mate"

Oh, thanks. That must explain the tone you get after several rings.
BTW, what is Telex? :confused3

Telex is a machine used by deaf folks to communicate with others. There is a service that you call and they can convert your typing into a conversation over the phone. In other words, they call the party trying to be reached, and as the person types, they speak the transcript. It works, but, I think texting will finally do away with the system.

OT, but I don't think there's any deaf people that actually use Telex anymore. It's mostly just TDD and relay (either video or text) now - and what you were describing actually sounds more like text relay than Telex.

Back on topic, I've always wanted to call those booths when I'm there. I'll have to add these into my cell for my next trip. :thumbsup2

Just back and thought I would give an update to this. All three numbers work. The phone will only ring ONE or TWO times inside the booth, so you have to time them right. 407-827-9862 is the phone furthest from the lagoon. 407-827-9861 is the phone closest to the lagoon. The other number is for the phone in the middle not in a booth. I had a lovely chat with a girl about Illuminations and how her vacation was going. She didn't figure out what was happening until I went up to her after we were done talking.

You do have to time it just right. There is a small delay between calling and the phone ringing. Like I said it only rings once or twice. Its also a quiet ring, so if the door is open people may not hear it. Its also a little difficult since most people walk in and pick up the phone right away. It was fun once I could finally get someone on.

I tried calling (I'm in Canada at the moment but I thought it'd be fun to try!) I called the right booth just now and was told I couldn't be connected because of technical difficulties :(

Lol, me and the Missus were just discussing whether we should call or not just for S's&G's.. luk if you get anyone or not!

We get our picture taken by the booth everytime we visit. I think my DS4 will LOVE to answer the phone.

dh was calling other day looking for mp he got a few folks said he was bert

I got through! It was about several minutes just after I made my latest post in this thread, and a young man picked up. He said he was just in the booth and the phone started to ring and completely startled him. He picked up, wanting to know if anyone was actually on the other end, and found out there was (me). He asked where I was from, I told him Canada, and he replied, "CANADA?!! You're calling from Canada?!" and we then had a nice chat. Then he had to go, as he was on a bar crawl. I wished him luck and we hung up.

wow - this thread is sooooooo awsome.

i would never have thought of calling one of the pay phones - the ones we have here don't accept incoming calls - they used to but haven't for years.

i keep searching and searching for webcams but this could be just as fun.

I'm so tempted to hang about by these next time I'm there just so I can answer with a genuine english accent ;)

OMG I am so glad this thread popped up! When we were at Epcot 2 weeks ago, I remembered that the #'s to the phone were posted. So my daughter and I went over to the booth and I took her pic. Just then the phone rang and she talked to someone from the boards! She was so excited and so was I!

I was hoping you were the one that I talked to, but we just did it on Thursday, March 11th. I am hoping the girl I talked to has a DIS'er for a parent!
