Hi Everyone

We are planning on getting married in May 2010 and at the moment I really like the idea of going out to have a planning session.

My DF is saying that it will cost too much to go out for a planning session and pay for the wedding.

What do you think? Did any of you go for a planning session? Is it easy to plan the wedding without one?:confused3

Thank you

we went over in feb and we paid abour £1500 fro a week in pop century with a car through virgin.

I wanted to go and get the whole experience but plenty of uk brides dont go over

We didn't go over for a planning session but we would have loved to we just couldn't afford it. I would say I have had no trouble with the planning, I did lots of research on here and knew what we wanted which I think helped a great deal.

I went over in Feb but didnt bother with the whole planning session, just wandered round the WP and looked at DP site. I think I would have liked to have been able to taste the cake flavours but other than that it has not made a difference to me.

I was in Florida last September. We looked at a few menu's and went round the Grand Floridian, but apart from that we didn't any planning over there. I have found the Disney board more useful than any information you can get from anywhere, and you can always give Disney a quick ring to check details and to put your mind at easy.

I have contacted most of my vendors by email and my Offiant Rev knox and Florist Rosie have replied within days. They couldn't have been more helpful with even little queries. If you find things you like on the Disney board you can email it to Disney and they will do it for you. This is what i did with my bouquet. I 'borrowed' the idea of a former Disney bride.:thumbsup2

We are going in November for a week, this is 6 months before our wedding. We are planning to have a site visit, menu tasting and cake tasting sessions.

However we are also classing this trip as our pre-wedding honeymoon :goodvibes .

Because we have 2 kids this will be the best chance for a 'honeymoon' that we will get !

Even if you cant make it for a planning trip I'm sure you will be able to sort things through phone and email. Lots of other brides have done it and the wedding planners for disney seem to be fabby.

Linz xxx :)

im planning on getting married at disney eventually but don't think i would do a pre visit as its just a bit too much money! i think i will put my trust into disney as they havn't disappointed me yet! i think the key is to ask as many questions as possible with your WC and ask all the fellow disney brides for their opinions on things.

also i don't know about you but living in england we can't go to disney all the time and so if i went a few months before the wedding i think it would spoil the excitement of being back at disney!

That is exactly waht my DF is saying as well! He said if we went out he wouldnt let me go on any of the rides or into the parks because it will ruin it!

we didnt go into many of the parks as we wanted to save it for our wedding trip. we did go on expidition everest as it was being built last time so we wanted to go on it.

We spend most of the days wondering around different hotels and relaxing really. I loved our planning sessions as it made me really at ease with the whole thing

We didn't go for a planning session, we found it fine arranging it from the UK. If you need any help or advice let me know :goodvibes

Hi, do you have to book anything officially with Disney for a planning session, or can you just arrive at the venues and ask to look around?

I'm going in November 2009, but will be doing Vow Renewals in March 2013, so quite a way before. I would like to see the venues at the very least so we can make a decision about that.

Thanks in advance!
